My husband and I went to Fantasia thanks to the reviews of Rara74. THANK ! They did not regret a second, despite the long journey. Sea, reefs are impressive! Rested from September 18 to October 2.2009. Swim for 3-4 hours a day. We went far to the left of the pier: we passed a military post, one unfinished hotel, the second unfinished hotel - on the contrary, they went into the sea and floated downstream to our pier, not fighting the waves. In these places of fabulous beauty, there are cascaded lagoons: white sand, colorful coral gardens, fearless inhabitants. It is not deep here and we had a good look at a large moray eel, a crocodile fish, stingrays, turtles were often seen, even caught at dinner - an interesting sight: clutching “crunched” corals in its paws. Here we saw a reef shark for the second time (rather calm). But the first time we met a very active shark near the cape (to the right of the beach bar), there is access to the sea and local fishermen often catch fish. They also saw a flock of dolphins: six adults and one baby (they behaved wary - maternal instinct, probably). In the same direction they saw a huge Napoleon at the head of a flock of hornbills. After enjoying the local beauty, we went on an excursion to the islands of the Hamata reserve. The yacht was twice accompanied by a flock of large dolphins. People stormily expressed their delight, and dolphins showed their joy by jumping. An unforgettable sight! Mutuality of feelings at a distance! The emerald-sapphire sea, sugary islands, a pleasant boat trip - everything is fine, but we were filled with impressions from our “fantasy reef” and they are much more interesting and diverse! There were also in Abu Dabab: large one and a half meter turtles, plastered with sticks, peacefully graze at the bottom of the sea. Periodically, turtles come to the surface to breathe air, at which point they can be examined closer.
In the first days of rest, we swam with Mukhamed (some reviews wrote about him with enthusiasm). An excellent local swimmer introduced us to the sights of the "fantasy reef". Huge thanks to him! So with him we saw a two-meter manta. He himself was delighted: “Fortuna, fortuna! ” From his words, and as we were told by divers at the Coral Center, this is great luck.
I think we've been really lucky in a lot of ways, and you know why? We did not look for evidence and did not arm ourselves with cameras... Everything was already done by professionals before us. We, tired of work and everyday bustle, relaxed and just swam, enjoying the solitude and beauty, and the sea pleased us and gave us its secrets. Trust me, it's worth it!

It is very good that there is a dive center! Great friendly guys! We communicated with them (to the best of our ability), shared our impressions, looked at atlases, rented uniforms. We also needed professional gloves.
Tips: upon arrival at Hurghada airport, be sure to buy the “Guide to Coral Reefs. Red Sea” by Ewald Liske, Robert F. Myers in Russian with laminated cover. We missed him a lot. Excellent atlas! And before the trip, read on the Internet the rules of conduct in places where there are sharks. Who is informed is armed!
I have never seen such diversity anywhere: neither in Sharm, nor in Taba, nor in Jordan, nor in Israel.
This is a place for those who love solitude, the sea, know how to swim, are not afraid of depth, respect and appreciate nature. It would be good if they launched the Kyiv-Mars Alam flight as soon as possible!
P. S. Service, omitting some details, is normal. There are no discos or other entertainment. Shmotka minimum. This place is not for snobs. This is a deep African village (near the border with Sudan), but rapidly developing. If you believe the Internet, in 2010, Hilton will be launched in Mars Alam. Ask questions - I'll try to answer.
