Sea. Fantasia is not the best hotel for snorkeling. But nevertheless, if you want to see beautiful corals and interesting "fish", you have to swim out of the bay. Bracken, large Napoleon, turtles. All this is there.
Restaurants. The disadvantage of distributing dishes by chefs is that the portions are too large. Everything else is great.
Number. In the letter, they immediately asked for Delux. They didn't regret it. Booking a Delux, through a tour operator, is significantly more expensive.
Wi-Fi throughout. Works great. YouTube pulls without question. Sometimes hung up (rarely). In this case, I changed the connection point and the issue was resolved.
Guests 50% - Ukraine. 40% - Italy. 10% - Belarus, Poland and Russia. Well +/-.
The Italians mourned the days when the hotel was 100% Italian. Covid has made its own adjustments.
Lyrical digression: we are used to the fact that guests from Russia have a bottle of vodka on the table, while Ukrainians have whiskey. I advise you to take the DeLux room - it is more spacious, newer with a beautiful view of the sea and the pool.

Meals - daily fresh vegetables and fruits (bananas, pomegranates, dates, persimmon, melon, salads, soups, main courses, meat - beef, chicken, fish daily; several times there were seafood) A lot of desserts for every taste. The bars serve burgers with french fries, shawarma, pizza. There is one paid fish restaurant on site.

In general, it was tasty and varied. A beautiful and clean central restaurant and a restaurant for breakfast and lunch are separate only for DeLux.

6. Service is good, the waiters are attentive, polite, the bartenders are sociable and friendly, the staff monitors cleanliness 24/7.

The guests of the hotel are Italians (60%) and Ukrainians, we did not see any special attitude of the staff towards the Italians.

Do not forget that there is NOTHING outside your hotel! No city, no shops, no taxis...nothing, just desert. Therefore, carefully choose a good hotel for your vacation otherwise kaput).

Be prepared for unreasonably high prices for any boat trips, quad bikes, diving, etc. - start from $60 per person.

Nuance - if you go in January, take warm clothes (after 17:00 they will come in handy, it’s cool in the evening), and during the day it’s quite warm and comfortable, you can sunbathe and swim in the sea, only it’s very windy!

The hotel is very good for a quiet family holiday with children, but it will be boring for young people...
Comparing holidays in Sharm and Marsa Alam, they made the final decision for themselves - only Sharm.

Room service was excellent, there were days when our room was not cleaned at all. Tipping didn't help much either. The three of us lived in the room, they put us 2 sets of towels, we had to run around and beg for another set. Water is an even bigger problem - you almost had to buy it from room service. The explanation that we have a small child eats infant formula and needs water - no one worried.
At the beginning, I couldn’t understand why in the shower rail, believe me not to hang a towel on it, as it will be wet, but after the first shower, when I fell on wet tiles, everything became sharply clear. The tiles are very slippery.
We asked for a crib for a child and were horrified. They brought us a dirty, dilapidated something with holes on the sides. As the staff explained to us - this is the best there is. The mattress was 15 centimeters smaller than the length of the crib, the hole was simply plugged with a pillow. The upper base of the frame on one side is generally broken and sags.
The rooms DO NOT have: bathrobes, slippers, kettle, cosmetics. There is a cap, liquid hand soap and a dispenser and something in the shower dispenser. Everything! If you need something, then you need to go to the room service staff and beg or negotiate for a tip.

2. Service. This is a catastrophe. At the reception, they barely speak English, to achieve something - you have to pretty fray your nerves.
3. Nutrition. This is the worst part of the hotel. What they call an Italian restaurant I would call a canteen: dirty and stinky. The tables are constantly dirty, the table is cleaned like this: a waiter comes up, wipes the leftover food from the table onto the floor with a dirty rag and lays out the cutlery for the next visitors. The chair covers are dirty, food and drink stained and with holes in them.
Waiters drive around the hall with large carts, where they collect dirty dishes and pour out the remains from the plates. It is quite normal practice to put a cart in front of a table with people who are eating and start dumping leftovers into a container. The most disgusting sight.
Napkins rely as much as 1 per person. If you need more, then you need to find a waiter and ask. They will give you one too. To bring more - you need to "feed" the waiter.
I won't go into detail on how much rubber chicken, dry beef, and weirdly sour-tasting fish. The result of a 2-day meal in this canteen was that 12 out of 14 people from our company fell ill with poisoning from the second day and some did not recover even before departure, and we “rested” for 12 days. In the lobby, other tourists also complained of diarrhea, vomiting and high fever.
There is no baby food at all. As well as any diet food. All dishes are either fried, or spicy, or abundantly poured with sauces of unknown origin.
The trouble is that there is simply no alternative to food. If it was really a resort town, then one could eat at another restaurant or buy groceries in a store, right there - there is no such thing.
An interesting observation: when a “baited” waiter offers something from drinks and you refuse, he points to his stomach and makes a sad smile, when you confirm that yes, there are problems, he begins to smile maliciously.
4. Entertainment. They are not here. There is an extremely dull aqua aerobics and disco in the evening (songs played in a circle every evening).
There is nothing for children. Nothing at all. The playground is more like a torture chamber of the Inquisition. It creaks and falls apart, the paint is peeling. And in the middle of the playground - a thorny bush with thorns of 10 centimeters.
And, no, for children there is a children's pool, which was icy for the first days, then they turned on the heating and it became much better.
5. Bar on the beach and near the pool - all the most disgusting. Tables, chairs and armchairs are dirty. And this is not dust due to the wind, but the remains of drinks, traces of ketchup, coffee, etc. They just don't get removed. The rest of the food from the plates at the beach bar is simply thrown up by the waiters for the birds to eat.
6. The sofas in the lobby are a little cleaner than the furniture in the canteen and bars, but not by much.
7. There is no pharmacy in the hotel and the nearest pharmacy is far away, since you are in the desert.

The worst thing is the restaurant.
The food is disgusting. Every day the same thing, chicken, beef, pangasius. But after all, they even manage to spoil it, the meat is tough, the chicken is oak. Terrible coffee from the boiler, a shame for 5 *, could put a coffee machine. The pastry is stale and hard. Grill ovens never work, the grill is brought from somewhere and imitates that from the fire. Grilled fish: they also manage to spoil, overcook, resulting in hard pieces. They allegedly served tuna - the tuna was definitely rotten, the stench stood around. I cut this rotten meat and took it somewhere to fry. A day later, a kakranx - also smelly and rotten.
The restaurant staff is a real mafia, whose only job is to find a tourist who will give a dollar. There is a roar in the hall from the dishes being removed, they can stand with their dirty smelly cart near your table where you have dinner, and with a roar collect dishes from neighboring tables and throw waste in front of your face. No ethics.
Nowhere, in any bar of the hotel there are no cocktail pipes! There are no disposable stirrers anywhere, they poured sugar into the coffee, stir it even with your finger!
The lobby bar is just awful. All cocktails one recipe! Just a quick pour into a glass of everything that comes to hand.
It seems that the hotel is not bad, but some kind of misunderstanding. The staff is loose, untrained. Looks like this kind of management.
Entertainment is non-existent. In the evenings, people sit in complete silence, there is not even quiet background music, not to mention live or some kind of singing.
Animation - it is not there, a couple of guys wander from corner to corner and that's it.
All in all, don't choose this hotel. There is no soul or zest in it, and there is definitely no desire to go here a second time.

Pizza is fried in the central bar, so there is something to feed the seagulls. By the way, this is the first hotel in which there are no french fries, but this is not the main thing. Of the twelve days of stay, most often there was a low tide, exposing the dead reef along the entire coast for many tens of meters. But even when the tide is in, there is still nowhere to swim. The small lagoon is filled with resting seals like herrings in a barrel. Children don't belong here. They will either be trampled or maimed by stones in the water. Wi-Fi satisfactory everywhere.
2. SEA, REEF, LIFE - (rating 3 out of 5)

We came here for him. On the left side, near the construction site, there is a small wooden pontoon, part of which once collapsed to the bottom and lies there. He goes out into the lagoon, surrounded by DEAD, a bizarre reef with lagoons.
There is only one descent, so in tolerable weather, you need to stand in line to enter the water and wait in the water for 5-10 minutes to get out. In most of the twelve days of our presence, visibility in the water is no more than 2-3 m. The bottom is at a depth of 3-5 m. can not see. Swimming is disgusting and a bit creepy. Sometimes, when the hurricane winds subside, in some places you can see the bottom and the same completely dead reef. You can even see the flooded pontoon.

On the right side of the hotel there is some kind of exit to another lagoon, but even there the visibility is poor, the coral is completely dead, although not without some charm. For lovers of underwater photography, there is nothing to do here.

If you are an experienced swimmer, then from the pontoon bay you can swim over the outer reef. But keep in mind, strong waves, currents, the dregs of the bay to be overcome, not everyone and not always can do it. It's that extreme. On the left side, against the waves, I swam for more than 2 km, behind the last hotel under construction. The reef is alive, but monotonous, colorless.
