And if you take back this time spent in Shawnee Bay Resort and offer me an exchange for a seven-star hotel in the UAE with presidential service and 20 meals a day with expensive delicacies - I would not agree. Because I went to this hotel only because of the rich underwater world of Marsa Alam. And I got it to the fullest. Incredibly diverse reef life, clear water and very, very, very few Homo sapiens in the water area.
As for the hotel, it sucks. The food is original, incomprehensible to a European. Either they will cut the pumpkin with onions, then they will smear everything with an unusable sauce. BUT, you will not die of hunger - there is always RICE without limitation (ALL INCLUSIV) / But many Chinese live their whole lives, being content with a cup of rice. And you will have an unlimited number of them. For dessert, there is always honey and bread: also in unlimited quantities.
There will not always be tea, but the coffee drink always remained in the boiler (most likely due to poor quality). A couple of days was a good casserole. Fresh cucumbers and tomatoes were given several times, but people quickly raked them on plates, not always eating them, but they should not be blamed for this, because if these vegetables were always in the diet, no one would rush at them. Arrive 15 minutes after the start of the meal - you will not see any vegetables, fruits, or anything tasty!

Beer is poured into plastic cups, after shaking the bottle, you won’t get too drunk. One foam. And beer is not every day. Yes, and the bar does not work in accordance with the declared schedule - in this way, we can assume that the hotel is engaged in scamming. Before the trip, it is worth considering alternatives where you will not be deceived and will provide guaranteed service conditions.
The staff is mostly very friendly. But there are, of course, ugly ones.
For example - MINA - a guy with a cleft lip - works on the distribution of alcohol all day, at all bottling points of the hotel. But, on the other hand, his job is to THROW HOLIDAYS! Line up a huge queue, pour drinks in 20 grams. The manager of the hotel, also a freak - of course, not on the side of the vacationers, asked him ten times to provide a ping-pong board, only a board. He brought rackets, balls and a net with him and promised to give it to the hotel - but he pulled the rubber to the last and never fulfilled his promises. Fed "breakfast" before departure. He also asked him to buy at least chess. For my money. As a gift to the hotel. After all, there is not a single store around, and he travels somewhere periodically to civilization, but he still got cold.
As for the hotel's clients: There is not a single foreigner, only the CIS. The people are all nice. BUT, the family has its black sheep - the real dregs of society arrived in the middle of the rest.
A warning to all vacationers - buying the cheapest tours to the region (as I did) you risk communicating with the most disgusting cattle ! ! ! )
The redneck looked in the form of four guys from Moscow, 20-30 years old, quite nice, but constantly cursing. The most offensive thing is that they carried the tricolor with them everywhere, and with their behavior, humiliating him.
The result of the review: If you don’t care about the conditions, you won’t die of hunger - THE PLACE IS COOL ! ! !

USEFUL INFORMATION: The hotel is satisfactory. The safe in the room is free, the laptop does not fit into the safe, leave it at the reception - a dollar for the entire period. There is no wi-fi. Water in April - 23 degrees. Preferably a 3mm wetsuit. There are no dugongs. Byss is. Exotic fish shaft. Octopuses, rays, cuttlefish. Corals are very poisonous - on contact, blisters on the hands for a month. Near reserves - 40 bucks a day - not much better than a reef in a hotel, but you can meet a dugong (probability of 10 percent).
Every day they take a minibus to the city (Port Ghalib) - 6 bucks from the snout from 20.00 to 23.00). There is not much to do there, but you can buy souvenirs.
There are very few people on the beach. Lots of free sun loungers, mattresses, towels - full. The pools are ice cold. There is no animation. There was a disco like - but I never went. No impressions.

Thanks to the mistake of our travel agency, instead of Rostov, we were put in the Mineral Waters. The landing was successful, although there was a huge flock of crows at the airfield. And to the credit of our Lugansk travel agency "SmartTour" - she paid us a taxi from Minvody-Rostov (6500 rubles). Thank you.
And finally: I took a couple of kilograms of corals with me. From the shore, already petrified. No one at the airport fined me. They are on the shelf now.
