Good day to all. And again Safaga and again Lotus. I will say right away that we were not supporters of going to the same place and to the same hotel. But resting in September last year in Lotus, we really liked it here. And for the past few years, the sea and natural resources have been the key for us in resorts, and not the stardom and steepness of hotels. So let's go in order.
1. Settlement. We arrived at the hotel around 7 pm. Last year the front desk manager Mustafa promised us one of the best rooms if we came back. I promised to return, and he kept his word. After a warm and friendly meeting, an exchange of courtesies and compliments, we were given the key to room number 122. I didn’t even think of going to inspect it, because I was sure that it was a good room. So it was. The room is located near the doctor's office, on the ground floor with a terrace entwined with flowering shrubs. Very close to the restaurant and to the beach. At the same time, there is no "passage" and it is very quiet and comfortable. The room is renovated, all appliances are new, there is plasma on the wall. The room has two single beds (which we later moved) and a large sofa bed. Having shifted all the beds in the room, five people could sleep comfortably. For us two adults and a child of 6 years old, this was more than enough. We left our things and went to dinner. And here we are also remembered. At the entrance to the restaurant, the animator Shams, after greetings, called our son by name (almost a year later) and reminded that at 20.30. mini disco. The general manager of the restaurant led us to the table and said that he was very glad to see us again. In general, we went to bed with very positive emotions.
2. Territory. Nothing has changed here. 2-storey cottages surrounded by greenery and palm trees. I must say right away that we were a little afraid that in August it would be hot and burnt vegetation. An no. Everything blooms and smells, clean, tidy, lawns mowed, in the evenings there is a pleasant smell of mint. There are a number of shops where you can buy perfumes, souvenirs or bathing accessories.

3. Sea and beach. I will not tire of repeating that for us the Red Sea is one of the best, and the beaches in Safaga (in particular in Lotus) are among the best in Egypt. The same soft sand, gentle entrance and palm trees on the beach. The first line is the best. There are two young (about 2 meters) palm trees near each umbrella, which gives more shade and comfort. In the last review, I missed the fact that the so-called "black sand" is present here. This is sand with natural therapeutic mud, which comes out of the seabed in such small volcanoes. They write that it helps with rheumatism, joint pain, treats skin diseases (including psoriasis). Masks from it are applied in the morning. Last year, all the Germans were smeared with this sand. Cleaning on the beach has become noticeably better. And the garbage from the trash cans was removed several times a day and the sand was cleaned with a rake. There are, of course, not so good moments. It seemed to us that there were more dead corals. This was confirmed by other tourists who are vacationing here not for the first time. The reason is rather that some "divers" who cannot swim take advantage of the availability of corals, put on a mask, "aqua shoes" and simply trample on them, breaking off branches. The underwater world is quite rich. From all kinds of minke whales and clowns to moray eels (I also saw a 1.5 meter specimen), tuna, lionfish. "Google" and list all the types does not make sense.
4. Weather. We never went to Egypt in August. They were afraid that it would be hot. "The knowledgeable ones" said that it was almost 50 degree heat. Air temperature during the day 35-36 degrees, the maximum was 38. At night 28-30. Water 27-30. After dinner, the water near the shore is generally like tea. There is almost always a light breeze. In general, bullshit.
5. Nutrition. Everything is just as excellent. For breakfast, natural yoghurts, eggs in all forms, pancakes, jams, jams, honey, cheeses, vegetables, sweets (baklava and apple strudel with cinnamon are something). Apparatus with coffee, tea, cold "hibiscus". Lunch and dinner, as always, a meeting at the entrance, lead to a free table, bring drinks. The food is delicious. Meat (beef, lamb, chicken, beef liver) in various improvisations. Grill on Saturdays and Sundays. Fish fried, stewed and in batter. Side dishes, salads and vegetables of course. Cheese cakes (envelopes)..... chef, you are the best! Cakes! ! There were none last year. There are 3-5 types in this. Fruits: dates, melon, apples, pears, orange, watermelon. Freshly squeezed juices appeared, but for a fee. 3 euros.
6. Drinks. As usual, I drank beer, my wife wine. Local alcohol was not even taken. I had a couple of bottles of cognac and brandy with me. I see no reason to overpay for "ultra". Even if you really want to drink a lot, then for 100-150 euros in a "dyutic" you can stock up like that... mom don't worry.

7. Contingent. Like last year, 80% are Germans. But if we thought that this was a "pensioner" hotel, then we were mistaken, now during the holidays it turned out that there are only 15 percent of pensioners. Mostly they are middle-aged people with children, teenagers. Among the vacationers there were also a small number of French, Belarusians and about 20 Ukrainians. 99% are adequate tourists. Yes, people joke, laugh, children play. But there is no this "boo-ha-ha, ha-ha" across the entire beach and booze in the trash who on the 5th day did not swim in the sea either. Nobody is pushing anyone. People know how to relax and let others rest.
8. Animation. The animation team has changed almost completely. Of the old only Shams. New dancer Moody (whether a boy or....it's not clear what). Children's animator Lisa (German) did her best. The little one liked it. Every day I called to the kids club. Went to bake pizza in a pizzeria next to the hotel. The mini disco was a hit. Adult animation, again I repeat, for those who have never seen (yoga, light show, karaoke, guess the melody, miss hotel, belly dance, etc. ). Weekends are more fun. At the end of the animation, dancing was added, for those who drank a couple of extra glasses and decided that he was on the show "Dancing with the Stars". )))) But this was not widespread even by 23.00. people dispersed.
9. Staff. As always, everything is on the level. Most speak three, four, or even five languages (except Arabic, of course). Most of us remembered, rejoiced like children and were always ready to help. The waiters and bartenders knew our preferences in drinks and brought without a reminder. Even if you do not want to tip, do not skimp on a smile, compliments, praise. And you will have the same attitude, or even doubly better. We didn't tip much either this year or this year. But this did not affect the attitude of the staff towards us as guests of the hotel.
10. Problem solving. We just didn't have them. The only problem with this hotel might be "some" tourists.
Conclusion. I will not tire of repeating that this is a relaxation hotel for those who love the sea, a relaxing holiday, who knows how to relax without straining and not straining anyone around them. We saw the changes only for the better (new interior elements in the restaurant and the beach bar, a bar on the beach with fresh juices, mousse and ice cream, instead of plastic takeaway cups they put cardboard ones. On our recommendation, our friends were in Lotus in April of this year and now They go again on August 21. We also say: "See you soon Lotus Bay. "
