We went to Egypt on a tour organized by the Pegas operator on July 9-16.2019. We arrived at 11:30, so the check-in was at night. The receptionist was waiting for us and immediately took us to the room (248). It turned out to be a nice room with a balcony and access to the courtyard. Knowing the unwritten rules of hotels in Egypt, it was unexpected and pleasant to get such a room right away, without quarrels and bribes.

About the hotel: it is decorated in the style of an ancient settlement. It looks interesting, but everything is rather neglected and dirty. Swimming pool with chlorinated water, not too dirty. There are sun loungers and umbrellas around, but we only swam twice, we did not use the sunbeds.

Room: there is air conditioning, mini-fridge, TV, large closet. . There was nothing in the bathroom, there was hot water.

About the amenities: they cleaned every day, but only the trash from the basket. The bed was not replaced for 7 days, towels were replaced 1 time.

Please note - we advise you to bring your own pillowcases (50 * 70) and towels, as we had them dirty, poorly washed.

About food: we only had breakfasts and dinners. The food is the same every day - rice, pasta, beans, in the evening - 2 pieces of meat (chicken), for dessert there was jelly and melons. If you are used to eating delicious, plentiful and varied food, you will not like it very much, but in general the food tastes ordinary. A big drawback is that there is a big queue for dinner at 19 and it is difficult to find a place (table). There were very few desserts, they were immediately sorted out. For breakfast - scrambled eggs, vegetables, tea, coffee, cereal, powdered milk.

About the beach: El Fanar free beach is located 3.5 km, on foot from the hotel. We (young people walking in good shape), as Google map says, walked about 30-40min. Please note that this is a road along the highway, there is little shade. The hotel does have a shuttle service to this beach at 9.30 and 13.40 (didn't always go).
Please note that there are 10 sunbeds allocated on the beach for this hotel, so 9.
3.90% will not have free space in the shade. We came at 8-8.30 and it was great - few people, you can take a seat in the shade, enjoy the clean and calm sea. There is also another beach nearby - Ras Um Sid, but it takes 60 minutes to go to it, and the ascent to the mountain is higher there, there are more people. There are minibuses, but the spread does not exist and it is not worth hoping that you will ride them to the beach. A taxi costs 20-25 local pounds (~$1.5).

In general, considering the price of the tour (~$520), this hotel corresponds to the level of 3 stars. If you choose it, think about whether you can turn a blind eye to the dirt, the distance from the sea and the palpability of goodies.
