Coral beach montazah 4 * through the eyes of a tourist

Good time of the day everyone! My name is Olga.
I want, on the one hand, to share my pleasure, on the other hand, maybe my information will be useful to someone.
My husband and I were in Egypt (Coral beach montazah 4 *) from 4.10. 10 to 17.10. 10. We were in Egypt for the first time, I bought a ticket from Pegasus via the Internet, because I live in the countryside and, accordingly, we don’t have travel agencies nearby. I liked working with the tour operator - an understandable site, there were no failures and problems, I made the payment without leaving home with a credit card. I had the idea to visit this country a long time ago, so I had the opportunity to spend a lot of time choosing a hotel, because there are a lot of them. The main selection criteria were: compliance with financial capabilities, a MANDATORY beautiful sea and a hotel for a family (not noisy) holiday, a room with a balcony. After long sorting and reading a huge number of reviews, I stopped on vacation for 13 nights at Coral beach montazah 4 * Sherm el-Sheikh, Sinai Peninsula.

To be honest, I have not regretted my choice, all my requirements were met in full.
Well, now a small digression of the trip from the very beginning. We flew from Kemerovo, I think that it was successful in time - the plane was at night, the flight time was almost 8 hours (and not 4 - as they say in the advertisements, this is probably from Moscow). We were in Egypt at 2 o'clock local time, at the airport we were met by Russian-speaking Pegasus guides, placed on buses and taken to hotels. At 5 am we were at the hotel. Initially, we were told that check-in was at 15.00, we changed clothes and went to the sea, left our suitcases there at the entrance (as usual), they were supervised. Returning from the sea, I went to the reception, asked how we could have breakfast, and then a room miraculously appeared for us, so at 8.00 we were already settled and began to enjoy all the pleasures of the rest. We took off at 17:00.
In itself, the territory of the hotel, in my opinion, is not large, there is no place for walking, there was only one joy - a trip to the sea. We lived in the building where the reception is located (this is considered the 2nd line), the hike to the sea is - cross the territory along the pool, cross the road and downhill along another building.
The room has everything you need. Bedding is clean and changed regularly. I can’t say that they cleaned super well, and I got the impression that it didn’t depend on the presence or absence of the dollar, but on who cleaned it. We also didn’t feel any discomfort from this hitch, sometimes we asked not to clean up at all today, we didn’t “piggy” in the room so much. The room had a balcony overlooking the grounds.

I really wanted a balcony in the room, firstly, because my husband smokes and so that he doesn’t rush about in search of a smoking place, but can go out, sit in an armchair to smoke, drink a can of beer, look at the starry sky - we got all this with great pleasure. As for the toilet-bathroom, everything was as usual, everything worked, towels were changed, shampoos, gels were added. There are two pools in the hotels, one is larger, near the buildings of the 2nd line, both children (a pool of two parts: for children and through a deeper partition) and adults swam in it with pleasure, well, of course, sunbeds under umbrellas and a “point of issue drinks. " The second pool is near the sea, it is smaller and deeper, I was in it only when I went to water aerobics.
As for food: no complaints. We have never had problems with digestion, although I suffer from a whole range of gastrointestinal diseases. You just have to experiment carefully.
The range of food is quite extensive, but completely predictable. You won’t stay hungry, but it sounds somehow blasphemous, I still have in my eyes those dishes that vacationers served, these are unimaginable mountains that were sometimes consumed by rather thin persons. There were greens, meat (beef) - sometimes very interesting and tasty cooked. I really liked the fish in batter, and fried, and grilled, and small, and large. There were potatoes, and pasta, and rice. Interesting soups, always two types - bouillon and cream puree, I tried as many as I liked. There are both baked and stewed vegetables. Salads are also present, but I practically didn’t try them, the cutting is somehow too specific, as we say “over the knee” and everything is mixed. In the mornings there is a choice of yoghurts and breakfast cereals, you can also toast and omelettes. Cheeses and sausages, in my opinion - none, but this is national.
Baking - it was quite diverse in assortment, but according to the meaning, I would divide it into soaked layers and jelly-like desserts. I don’t like sweets - so I can’t appreciate it, there was no shortbread or puff assortment, but as for breads - here they amazed us with their taste, buns and white and gray and two-tone and with various toppings and loaves, and baguettes - we I really liked the baked goods. Drinks are too sweet for me, of all I liked hibiscus and tea. The coffee is normal. But with regard to alcoholic beverages, an interesting picture is drawn. To get a glass of wine for lunch or dinner - for us, not that it was a problem, but somehow with an interference. You’ll come up yourself, it’s not yet a fact that they will give you - “order from the waiter”, and if you didn’t catch him right away when he occupied the table, then somehow it didn’t work out, but they poured it so poorly - at the bottom, you won’t go again.

Maybe this is my subjective opinion, but also the expression on the face of the attendants when you ask for wine - as if you are asking for money in loans. It seemed to me that they treat it even worse when a woman comes for alcohol. There was a case, I was standing in line, there were men in front of me, the MEN served them and defiantly turned away to serve the men from the other side (Italians). By the way, although not explicitly expressed, but I have the opinion that the Italians are still among the Egyptians in this hotel in the first place. Maybe because many of the Russian languages u200bu200bare not known, Italians somehow have an easier way of communicating. The occupancy of the hotel is Russians and Italians.
As for the animation, it's pretty lackluster, but that's what I was looking for. In the morning on the beach, traditionally stretching, aqua-belly dance, in the afternoon: yoga, volleyball, in the evening something for an hour and a half on the stage.
We organized trips to discos in other hotels, casinos - I can’t say anything, because I didn’t visit. The first days I went to bed almost immediately after dinner, because the time difference was 5 hours with the house, but I woke up at 3-5 in the morning. We wanted to enjoy the silence and regularity - we got it in full.
As for the quality of alcohol, the beer is not bad, but in recent days it ended too quickly as a result of a large arrival of Russians (the Egyptians are not very clear that in the heat we like to drink a lot of beer, and they would not refuse kvass, but they have such exotic not at all). There is no wine in the eateries on the street, and rums, gins, etc. - and 2 is not enough.
On arrival, on the first day, we went to duty free, took something, and then found a shop not far from the hotel (at the exit from the main entrance to the right along the path of 300-500 meters), there is everything a tourist needs: they took wine three times , two of them are more or less successful, but the third bottle is frankly g ... , they also took vodka - fish for lack of fish and cancer. Prices are reasonable, cheaper than in duty free. Cigarettes are also available, at a price not too expensive than ours, the assortment is the same as in Russia.
I consider it a big minus that there is no opportunity to buy a local SIM card nearby, a lot of money for calls, although they limited themselves quite strongly. SMS to Russia - 19 rubles. A minute of conversation is 125 rubles (per-minute rate) - this is a megaphone Siberia.
As for money. They brought dollars with them, but it was more convenient to use Egyptian pounds. There is an ATM in the hotel, I took a “viza” card in rubles with me, both electronic and classic work.

For one transaction, a commission of 100 rubles is charged, pounds are issued at the exchange rate of the Central Bank. If you pay in dollars, they recalculate 1 dollar-5 pounds, and at the rate of the Central Bank it is 5.6, so I advise you to withdraw the local currency through an ATM at the beginning of your vacation and use it.
Expenses: there is not much to buy there, purely souvenirs and excursions. The prices seemed quite reasonable to me, even in Sharm El Sheikh the prices are comparable to Russian ones. Therefore, when asked how much money to take with you, be guided by how much you are willing to spend in Russia during this period on vacation.
On excursions. We decided not to overexert ourselves with trips, so we refused sightseeing trips over long distances, this is Cairo, Israel, night climbing Mount Moses. In time, they take about a day, that is, two nights (you leave at night and arrive at night), people came very tired, plus you need to walk a lot for sleepless nights, but they are quite satisfied.
Those who are ready for ordeals at the customs with Israel (one group spent 5 hours there, although there is a quick passage) people with non-Russian surnames, especially Ukrainians, have problems - the trip costs 200-250 dollars per person. We took three local excursions: we visited the monastery of St. Catherine, a boat trip to the Ros Mohammed reserve and a trip through the desert on ATVs. We took the last tour from the locals, we were satisfied with the tour - not usually, we looked at the mountains and mud in the deserts. By the way, the country is quite dirty, mountains and hills of garbage in the scorched desert immediately begin outside the hotel. Of the unpleasant, I was most struck by the fact that in the desert you can meet the half-rotted corpse of a camel, or even more than one.

We met with local Bedouins - our gypsies and no more, but for some reason the Egyptians constantly almost proudly talk about them, that it is not possible to count them, teach them to live in houses built for them, go to schools. From this excursion, we also learned that it is more convenient for us to still buy excursions from our guide, because I strained with language understanding, even when you go on an excursion with a “Russian-speaking” guide, and then you have to strain your brains to understand what he says. I liked the trip to the monastery, I was very impressed by the mountains that accompany you all the way, they are still diverse and very beautiful, the monastery itself impressed me, we didn’t get tired of the trip, we learned a lot of interesting things. I also liked the boat trip, but I was not so impressed, because the beach of the hotel where we lived is located in such a beautiful place that the beauties that we saw in the reserves did not impress me personally.
Indeed, all the disadvantages of a domestic nature (although there are not so many of them) are more than crossed out by the beauty that you can see in the sea. IT IS SOMETHING! ! ! I saw different aquariums, both large and small, but what allows us to see the Red Sea - I can’t even convey this delight in words. This is such an unimaginable play of colors and shapes that the human mind seems meager and miserable, so many fish, what a variety of corals! ! ! This must be seen. I envy those who swim well. We were forced to buy me a life jacket, we also bought fins, a mask, a waterproof case for the camera and got so much joy, pleasure, all kinds of positive emotions! ! !
I am delighted as a small child, you can just sit on the pantone and watch the fish, though sometimes the wind interfered, by the way it blows almost always and is so soft, warm and cozy, you wrap yourself in it like a soft scarf, the heat is very easy to bear, tan sticks very quickly. It may be a little naive, but I am pleased to realize that having lived to a fairly mature age, these days I first learned to use fins and swim at depth without a life jacket. The sea is a fairy tale, and this is not a figurative comparison, but the truth.
Well, in conclusion, about shopping, this is also a national color. You have to trade everywhere. But if in the shops at the hotel this is an easy fun game, then in Naam Bay we faced quite serious pressure.

We had the stupidity to turn to the table that stands next to the reception with the “taxi” label, it all started harmlessly, we paid, by the indicated time we went to the parking lot, they put us in a mikrashnik, it was in the evening, we were taken to place N, dropped off, right here And so it began: we were rigidly passed from hand to hand, and the situation was such that it was hard not to say no. At first, we were forced into aroma oils, when (to get rid of) something they bought us, they took us through some basement rooms with stuffing T-shirts, silver, papyrus, etc. Having freed ourselves from the obsessive service and found ourselves on the street, we went along the shopping malls , but almost every turn of our heads cost us a subsequent rebuff from the sellers. Naturally, there are also normal, cheerful and pleasant traders, but we felt quite a serious pressure on ourselves.
We witnessed two conflict situations: once a woman broke a bottle of aromatic oil with her bag, the second time a man - a tourist rebelled something, the Arabs are also quite emotional. How it all ended - I don’t know, both times the tourists were forced out somewhere and how it ended ...I liked that this was not in the shops selling jewelery made of precious stones. Metals. It may be interesting for young people and people who are more active, but, as they say, there is no comrade for taste and color. We saw a hotel in this world of "rumbling music from all sides, screams, a bunch of cafes and eateries" - I would not want to rest there. Maybe we did not understand the taste of this city, but there were no positive emotions left, this is not usual for us. We returned to the hotel with such joy, as if we were looking for shelter in our mink ...We also went on a proposed shopping tour (with a free transfer) to a fur and leather store.
If there is an opportunity, I will be happy to return to rest in Coral beach montaza. , and more money will appear - you can also go to the neighboring Baron 5 *, but this is exactly the place by the sea! ! !
