So, just returned from Coral Beach Rotana Resort Montazah yesterday. The whole vacation recalled the reviews that I happened to read about the hotel - and sincerely wondered about some, but we understood something on the spot and support it unambiguously. Everything in order:

1. Territory
yes, there is little greenery, palm trees are rarely planted, there are some flowers, but it could be greener, of course. Watering is regular, but who needs "tropical thickets" - definitely not here. We lived in building number 1, it took about 5-7 minutes to walk to the sea. If you go up and down the descent - it's hot, if you go through the tunnel - there are a lot of steps. We walked through the tunnel : )
The airport is visible from the main entrance, but due to the fact that planes take off and land parallel to the hotel, they do not interfere at all.

2. Check-in and room
We arrived quickly from the airport, only my husband and I settled here from our flight.

All the staff knows Russian, there is an announcement at the counter for those who want to "upgrade the category of the room" - from 10 to 30 dollars per day per room, depending on the type. We were not particularly eager to spend money, so we managed with a chocolate and we were settled in building 1, where the reception is, on the second floor. The view was on a piece of the pool, the issuance of towels, a garden, an unfinished hotel and mountains. I want to note right away: the odd numbers in the first building (we had 1125) face the sunny side, southwest, so for those who want to sit on the balcony in the afternoon, take the even numbers. We could only be on the balcony after nine or ten o'clock in the evening. On the other hand, in the even numbers of this wing, the music from the pool will be strongly audible, but during the day it is not loud, and in the evening it ends around 11 pm. The situation is normal, a huge bed, four floor lamps, everything works, although we did not use them much. The safe is big, no complaints.
Bathroom - bath, toilet, bidet, everything works. Of course, in the bathtub itself, something is scratched, there are rusty streaks, but ....we are not from the Revizorro program, we don’t climb in all the cracks in white gloves. Yes, I treated the seat with chlorhexidine, and wiped the sink.
There was a problem with the air conditioner for a couple of days - after there was a power surge. But the engineer came, screwed up something in the control unit - and the blessed coolness came. Ida, I agree with the opinion that in the third building, (villas) with sea views - very noisy air conditioners! we passed by on the beach and then shied away from the rumble. Towels. Hm. They really are stacked on a shelf. But there, under the hair dryer, there is a tiny sign in foreign languages, there is no Russian text, and it says - if you want to change your towels - throw it on the floor. We looked at the foot towel, which was lying on the floor before cleaning, and they did not throw large towels - in case they don’t change.
And in general, you can take a towel from home, at least for intimate places!
The cleaning was, including wet, but there are not very pleasant moments - once they forgot to close the suitcase, the cleaners pulled out a pack of cigarettes, took away all the bags that I needed, and arbitrarily shoved all our things into drawers and shelves in cabinets! it was a slight shock - until they found everything. And before leaving, on August 22, the cleaner knocked on the room - he said - the plane is tomorrow? well, then you don’t need cleaning today - he waved his hand and dumped.

3. Vacationers
There are many Russians from all over Russia, Ukrainians who speak different languages (in Russian and Ukrainian), Poles, Italians, Arabs, a few Englishmen and a little bit from Lithuania, France, Georgia ...I don’t understand the indignation of some commentators about the presence of local Arabs.

They all come with their families, with children, and they behave much more cultured than our Russian youngsters, who throw alcohol into the zyuzyu, and then yell in the pool at night. Of course, it was still wild to look at some of the "holiday guests" who came to the restaurant in swimsuits, but in general - the contingent was adequate.

4. Nutrition
hmm ...how many times have I remembered a chic review, and an almost verbatim quote from it: pay three times as much and go to the neighboring Baron or Sensatori, eat a square of janenka with marozhenka ...Yes, in Montaza, the set of products is rather weak, but every day cooked differently. Breakfast: scrambled eggs, pancakes, cereals, vegetables, pasta, feta cheese, cheeses and sausage (soy), breakfast cereals and milk, yoghurts.
Lunch: two types of soup (well, like soups - vegetable soups-mashed potatoes, broccoli, spinach or vegetable / chicken broths with rice or carrots), several types of pasta, rice, vegetables, fish (mainly pangasius or baked with vegetables, or in batter), portioned sea fish, chicken, beef. Dinner: also two types of soup (not the same as at lunch), potatoes in different versions (it was with gravy, mashed potatoes, chips, fries, baked), fish (once there was a hefty grilled fish), beef (baked , cutlet burgers, slices with gravy) and chicken (in sauce, grilled, in the oven).
We were not particularly interested in pastries, but I noted - there are few of them and they are all the same - some thin pies, rolls, buns, cookies. Sweets - I love soufflé , jelly, sherbet - it was all there. Juices are decent. Not to say that a frank yuppie - we typed in a bottle (drank in a room with whiskey) - stood in the refrigerator for a couple of days, did not exfoliate, did not change taste and color - you can drink.
Tea, coffee - from (I don't know what to call it) - thermoses, or something ...wine was poured for lunch and dinner. brrrr ....white is still somehow drinkable, but red - there was a feeling that it had not yet fermented to the end!

Fruits - melons (yes, they are green, but juicy and fragrant, you can eat), guava, dates, apples, bananas, oranges and suites (although the suites really embarrassed me with their appearance - as if the juice had already been squeezed out of them, and then they sent it for distribution ...although the people took it in bulk, so to speak), watermelons - but we ate them in Rostov. I want fruit - we went to the old city, bought mangoes there, and I just overate them! for such a price (a dollar - a piece) - it's just magical.
The indignation of some about the fact that the cooks distribute the meat in a couple of pieces - you know what, I would also give out a piece to such visitors - they still don’t eat it, where should they throw it away? Well, comrades, this is the height of delusional fantasy - so eat, excuse me, my French! big plates? big...
well, and our people impose (and the Arabs, by the way, too - though they eat everything) with a slide - potatoes, beans, pasta, vegetables, meat, fish, chicken ...and then sweets and pastries, and all this remains on the tables! personally, it was enough for us to take a couple of spoons of a side dish, a piece of chicken or a couple of slices of meat, a glass of wine - and we already ate to the fullest. Let the gentlemen of the inclusions try to drink a glass of water with half a lime before starting a meal - it’s good for digestion, and you will look like people in terms of the amount of food, and you won’t make others laugh ....

5. Entertainment
Hug and cry, of course: ) mini-disco for half an hour for children under the same songs, and then some kind of entertainment until eleven. We never really paid attention to animation, because we don't need it. We after another go to resorts. But here it was a lot of fun (laughed to tears just) - only on (oddly enough) Guess the melody. And then, more from the participants laughed : )
In general, on the contrary, we were satisfied with the silence in the evening in the hotel. Such here we are wrong 30-35 lazy youth : )

The old city is far away. We went there for fruit, we were not imbued with either the atmosphere or the place. All for tourists, and - for Russian tourists. Yes, the prices are cheaper there, but nothing really fell on the eye, and the locals are still annoying to the point of horror and arrogant. It was much more decent and safer in the shopping alley on the Baron. In general, compared to the Medina of Sousse, where we wandered every day and found something new - the Old City is so, thu ...Soho ...We were lured there to a disco, Panjaya. Mdya. Here in Egypt, I had not listened to Kalinka-Malinka before, Kolya-Kolya-Nikolai ...They didn’t imbue it, in short.

6. Sea
Oh, the sea is beyond praise! we had intentions to sail through all the hotels, as advised - from the sensatori to the melia. but - on the very first day they grabbed the sun with a bust, for several days they didn’t go to the beach at all. by the pool adapted.
in the last days before departure it was windy, so then they also got fried ....Comrades, I don’t see the point in talking about the sea, the reef and the fish - a lot has been said before me, and you have to see it with your own eyes. Yes, the tides were, in the mornings, clearly visible. But about the "escape from the pontoon without slippers" - I do not agree. plastic pontoon is an order of magnitude cooler than sand. Didn't cause any inconvenience. Coral slippers are not needed, if you do not walk at low tide on starfish, which are unmeasured there.

In general, if you are positive and go on vacation, and not to make a fuss, you can safely choose this hotel. Have a good holiday everyone!
