I absolutely agree with all the unflattering reviews about this hotel that you will find on the Internet. My husband and I rested in the Sultan on May 4-11.2008. Of course, I read the reviews before the trip, but I hoped that people judged subjectively and, in general, could be wrong. I'm sorry I took the risk. At the onset of all the events, I was not even particularly surprised, because. met everything that I found in the reviews. I can say that the rest thanks to this hotel was almost ruined.
To begin with, we shook our nerves during resettlement. The construction took place on the side of our building, and at the reception they generally said that there was no construction. Giving money to them is absolutely useless - it will not get better. The hotel staff is rude, especially at the reception. When we wanted to extend the room (since the flight was late), in the evening we were told to come in the morning, and in the morning that it was already late and others would enter the room! This despite the fact that they have specific rooms are not booked!!
In the morning we went to have breakfast at the nearest "restaurant" Sultan. My appetite disappeared almost immediately, as soon as I saw dirty, food-stained tablecloths and chair covers. Once upon a time, all this should have been white. What is this 5 stars???? ? More is better! Breaking off a piece of waffle, I found there - what do you think - cellophane!! ! So breakfast consisted only of coffee.
Fortunately, if you are staying in Sultan, you can have breakfast in 2 restaurants to choose from. The second, central, was much nicer. I can say right away that all-inclusive somehow does not pull. In general, it was possible to eat in 4 restaurants, and when you check in, they give you a card in which they note that you have already had breakfast, lunch and dinner today. So you won't get to another restaurant!! ! The food is monotonous, every day for lunch and dinner there is pasta with the same gravy, and the "repertoire" of dishes did not fluctuate much. The only thing I liked was the sweets, which were very tasty.
You can drink beer and juices only by the pool, next to your hotel and on the beach, respectively, also only in front of your buildings. And the territory is huge, but stupid, includes several hotels! And imagine: you went swimming in the central pantone, which has 2 pools right in the sea, then you will pay for drinks !!!
This hotel is not suitable for people who are not good swimmers and are not interested in the underwater world. You can't just swim in the sea. The entrance among the corals is of course cut through, but it is very small and there are a lot of people there. I ended up swimming in the pool.
In the evening we went to listen to live music. The performance was very good, the only thing they managed to spoil even such a simple cocktail as Margarita in the bar.
I would also like to say about the room and cleaning. The room was spacious with nice furniture. Only now, in order to watch TV, it was necessary to knock on it periodically, because. the sound was gone. Cleaning: it was clean enough, but until we left a dollar, they didn't clean it. With us was a friend who lived in the next room, she left the money immediately. So her room was clean!!!
In general, this hotel complex is located near the airport, and planes fly very often. They can be seen and heard!
