It was possible to visit Egypt in December, after the notorious tragic events. A little excitement was present, but as it turned out, it was completely in vain. Enhanced security measures at the airport and in the hotel itself made only a positive impression. The road to the hotel was a little depressing compared to the trip to Sharm El Sheikh in 2012, due to the almost complete absence of tourists, many hotels are closed or under renovation, taking advantage of the temporary absence of tourists. Before entering the territory of the hotel, it is necessary to pass a metal detector and two security posts. The hotel outside and inside was very beautifully decorated for the New Year and Christmas holidays.
When checking in, a standard hotel questionnaire was filled out and two rooms were offered to choose from, a level higher than what was paid. This is explained by the same small number of vacationers and a large number of free rooms. They settled us almost in the center, at the second stop of the funicular. The room is large, spacious, with a large terrace, very nice and large bathroom with bathtub. Water, tea, coffee replenished daily, minibar-for a fee. The room has an iron and ironing board. On the day of arrival, a compliment was delivered to the room, in honor of the birthday, in the form of a cake, which further improved our first impression of staying at the Hilton Sharm Waterfalls 5 * hotel.
The food at the hotel is a solid 5. Everything is very fresh, tasty. There was a very large selection of fresh fruits. Lots of meat dishes, freshly squeezed fresh juices for breakfast. On Catholic Christmas there was a gala dinner in the main restaurant. Chefs have prepared a large number of new dishes, a lot of sweets, pastries, cakes. Everything was beautifully decorated and most importantly, very tasty. Despite the fact that the main restaurant was full and served exactly half, everyone tried, from the waiters to the head chef, who liked to go out to the guests during dinner and ask how things were going, if everything was fine. You can also contact them with any question. The staff at the hotel are very friendly and try to help their guests in any problem as quickly as possible.

The hotel has a free Italian restaurant A la Carte-Verdi Bistro, located above the main restaurant, one visit is free. Shish Bish and On the Rocks Bar are closed during winter. The menu of these restaurants can be ordered at the main restaurant La Cascade, if desired. Also, the hookah Shish Bish Lounge did not work.
There is one Tipsy Turtle bar on the beach - it serves, in addition to drinks, ice cream. There is a restaurant, near the large pool, Paradise Reef, which serves snacks during the day, and in the evening it works as a restaurant a la carte.
Due to a small number of tourists, the pool bar Chillax Bar, Health Club bar and Pool Island Bar have been closed. The pools are all working, there are sea and chlorinated water. There is a heated pool near the Health Club. He is not big. The air temperature throughout the rest was quite hot, which made it possible, without problems, to use the large, unheated pools.
The hotel has a funicular. Convenient enough for the elderly and women with strollers and small children.
Animation in the hotel is very quiet. There are few vacationers, and even fewer who want to participate in games and competitions. One of the evenings, a traditional Egyptian skirt maker was invited. There is also a free trip, with hotel animators, for an evening in an English pub + one free drink. There are billiards, table tennis, tennis court, football field, free gym. The Health Club has a spa where you can get a good hour massage for ridiculous money. Sauna for hotel guests free of charge. The hotel has a free disco. Wi-Fi in the hotel lobby is free. The password is changed every day. For children there is a playground, a kids club and a children's pool. Near the hotel is the walking street IL Mercato and the entertainment complex "Fantasy - 1001 Nights".
The sea and reef at the hotel are beautiful. There are two beaches, one is sandy, with large mattress beds, the second is near the pontoon, entrance is only in special shoes. Panton, floating, not wooden, so at the slightest wind, our lifeguard played it safe and hung out the finish flag, although a yellow flag was hung in a nearby hotel. Such "concern" of the rescuer upset many.
The hotel rested mainly locals (local population), Germans and Ukrainians. The hotel was 40% full.
