We had the imprudence to take a tour with my wife to the ISLAND VIEW RESORT hotel in Sharm…. Were from May 1 to May 8.2017.
Well, what can I tell you - this "vacation" discouraged going to Egypt for many years .....
Let's start with the hotel - on the websites of tour operators it is positioned as a 5-star, but in fact it is a weak four, no more, and in many respects it is a three. Believe me, there is something to compare with, in Egypt for the 7th time. Moreover, nowhere, neither on the facade of the hotel itself, nor at the reception, nor on the wall with certificates, pennants and letters of honor, is there a single hint of a five-star resort!
It seems that this hotel found even the era of the reign of Ramses III; -))) For he has not seen the repair for ages, and the number of rooms killed to such an extent that there are simply no words - everything is shabby and uhaidokhano just in the trash! At the very least, it still works and functions, of course, but it’s already tired specifically!
Food is a separate story.
The “All Inclusive” system is declared only on paper, but in fact there is really nothing worthwhile - the drinks suck, there is no promised ice cream, or rather, there is, but only for money .....
Egypt has great wine and excellent beer that used to be offered in hotels, but the shmurdyak they pour now is just camel piss!
Of course, I didn’t have to starve, but they practically begged for food in the restaurant, because at the distribution of main dishes and more or less normal snacks, cooks stood and literally gave them out by the gram, in tiny pieces, in portions. Now, if you want, for example, to take 5 pieces of cheese, you must say “more” to the cook 5 times. He puts down a piece and looking at you asks "more"? You give him, - and even give a couple of pieces, give 5 at once, don't be goon! But no - he lays down one again and asks - "more"?
In a word, terrible savings on everything, bordering on redneck!
Forget about seafood - boiled-steamed fish or bony fried mackerel, that's the limit of all dreams about them!
Separate "respect" to the a la carte restaurant La Trattoria. During the period of stay, it was possible, by appointment, to try to order dinner three times in one of the two restaurants, and moreover, completely free of charge. But do not rush to rejoice ......For like everything else in this wretched hotel, the dishes did NOT fully correspond to their names and the ingredients declared in them. So, for example, Caesar salad, it's just lettuce with a local likeness of mayonnaise sprinkled with breadcrumbs, although the menu says that there should also be chicken fillet and even Parmesan cheese, which did not smell there! How it didn’t smell like seafood in the pizza corresponding to the name (cheese and fish - that’s it! ), and Mascarpone cream cheese in the Tiramisu dessert (they put some garbage there and voila, here’s the type, Tiramisu) .......
In fairness, it should be said that the main dish (veal) was prepared normally and it was very edible.
Well, what else to say - we had an Anextour tour operator, the balobols are still the same! They seem to be smiling, polite, good-natured, but like all Arabs they are trying to sell all sorts of garbage!
In no case do not fall for the supposedly free sightseeing tour of Sharm, which you receive as a “gift” when buying one of the main excursions! It all came down to visiting one monument, a mosque, a church and a lot of their “nailed” trading floors, a la “oil factory”, “papyrus factory”, “shopping center”, in which 70% of the entire excursion time spent. Moreover, the trip was promised for 1.5 - 2 hours, but in fact with all these showrooms, it dragged on for all 4!
We took a boat trip with scuba diving from the hotel guide Anextour - again, a dive for 20-25 minutes was announced, but in fact - it turned out to be only 13 minutes !! ! ! ! Draw your own conclusions. Everyone is lying! ! ! !
Yes, hotel check-in time, according to their fucking policy, is 2pm and check-out is 12pm. We were at the hotel around 9 am and we were "kindly" offered to pay 10 bucks for an early check-in. And on the day of departure at exactly 12 you are already evicted and at the same time they cut off the bracelets, that is, not to drink water, not to mention having lunch. And our flight was at 21:30. . If you want to extend the room until 18.00, pay extra 35 bucks per person!
So you should think carefully about whether to take a tour with an early arrival and a late departure.
Well, the beach, the sea, the reef and the sun, no complaints!
Practically…. Except for the time-worn loungers and worn towels…….
A cool lifeguard named Eid (Eid) was on duty on the left pontoon - that's who the real respect is! A cheerful and sociable fellow, he always raised his mood for one or two!
