I want to point out right away that this is not the first time in Egypt, so the review, I hope, will be as objective as possible.
Those who write only bad or only good things about this hotel, nevertheless, are lying (perhaps due to visiting a previously more uncomfortable hotel, or vice versa, they were in Europe or even in Egypt, but in the "five").
Well now about the hotel.
We arrived at Amar El Zaman 4 * (that was the name of the hotel from the tour operator Sunmar), the entrance to the hotel of tourists is carried out from two sides, even from The Three Corners Palmyra Resort. Those who visit Amar receive a red bracelet (“ultra” all inclusive), and those who visit Palmyra receive a pink bracelet (all inclusive). The difference between them: "ultra" - round-the-clock access to alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, the same drinks at the disco and 3 A'La Carte restaurants, and all this is free.

And so we entered and received red bracelets, being pleased with ourselves (since we were counting on these bracelets) we are in the hotel building, the time was somewhere around 10:30 (settlement takes place at 14:00). We were settled at 12:00 in the 5th building with a view of the construction site, for clarity, I will clarify, there were four of us and, accordingly, we occupied 2 standard rooms. We didn’t like the rooms, because there was a building “not frozen” outside the window, and this is excessive noise. Without hesitation, we went to the reception, smiling maliciously (as if waiting for us), we were hinted at more comfortable rooms, but for a surcharge (not official by itself). We agreed, but with the condition that we first look at what kind of room and if it suits us, then we move in. Of course, the 6th building, 3rd floor suited us more and we paid $ 20 for the 2nd rooms.
The rooms, of course, leave much to be desired, there is dust all around, the curtains are dirty, the bathroom is unsanitary, but what can you do, as many say: “Egypt! ”. Although I was in another four in Hurghada and everything was clean there!! ! Well, okay, in any case, we didn’t spend so much time in the room, but you can also go to the shower in slates)))
Further territory. You can’t argue here - it’s big, beautiful, green, even somewhere creative (waterfalls, cascades of stones), all this pleases the eye. There are a lot of pools, but it's strange that the bottom of the pools is sheathed with plastic, which is already ruffled in some places (this is probably due to the age of the hotel). The peas are pleasing, the yellow one is generally cool, we all rode and were happy!
As for the cuisine, this is what upset me and my friends the most, I would even say NO variety, everything tastes the same, it seems like there is a choice, but the feeling that everything is made from one product. For example, buns, the dough is the same, only the shape and sprinkles change. In general, food for C grade, I repeat, there is something to compare! And all four of us got poisoned, and we also met girls who drove in with us on the same day, they also got poisoned. I hope this is an accident and this has never happened before, or at least will not happen again. It is also disgusting that the food from lunch was served for dinner, as well as the next day, and only after the sluggish vegetables were eaten, fresh ones were cut. Of the food, only breakfast was more or less pleased: scrambled eggs with sausage, cheese and tomatoes; scrambled eggs fried from 2 sides (for some reason they call it an omelet); toasts; pancakes; breakfast cereals, and of course the miracle of buns)))
The staff seems to be friendly, smiling, but sometimes very intrusive, but this is the specificity of the Arabs - it is everywhere in Egypt.

As for the beaches, the hotel has 2 of them. One nearby Palmyra Beach is about half a kilometer from the hotel, it has a sandy shore, the entrance to the sea is corals, but there are strong waves, since the beach is not in the bay and there are a lot of sea urchins, if you get hurt once, then the rest is ruined. On the second Sharks Bay beach, it is about 14 km. from the hotel (15-20 min. drive) the beach is pebbly, the entrance to the sea is also coral, but there is a bay and almost no waves. We were mostly on the 2nd beach, we liked it more. There is a bus from the hotel to both beaches - free of charge. On the 1st beach, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are free, but on the 2nd, only non-alcoholic ones.
Oh, and here's the thing, planes are constantly flying over the hotel, and it's very noisy, but you get used to it with time))). There were also flies and mosquitoes on our trip, so stock up on a raptor.
Bottom line: the hotel is a small four. In general, the four is only for the territory, it is really decent. Around unsanitary conditions: both in rooms and in restaurants. It is better to add money and fly to a more decent four.
Well, if you still decide to fly to this particular hotel, then try to look for pluses in your vacation, it’s easier. GOOD LUCK!! !
