Royal Grand Charm is a very old dilapidated hotel with terrible food, dead rooms, low service, but on the first coastline. It is worth noting that the hotel is 90% Ukrainians, some Russians, foreigners are rare. That says about the lack of high quality.
If you are used to staying in 5 stars, be prepared - the level of a 3-star hotel is no more. The price corresponds to the level. Only a large green area, location on the first coastline, good sea remind of 5 stars. That's where the positives end, unfortunately.
We traveled with parents and a 4 year old child. 2 numbers. Supplement for superior room with sea view 40 USD per person.

ROOMS: 20 years old, old, corners with mold and fungus, cracked plumbing, rusty faucets, wooden furniture, floor lamps and chandeliers with defects. The air conditioner is working, there is warm water, there are breakdowns in the water supply and related repairs and lack of water. Refrigerators in the rooms do not work very well. The mattresses are comfortable. An additional children's bed was with an unaesthetic past gnawed by mice, covered with a sheet. Room cleaning is good. from accessories - shampoo and gel.
FOOD in a RESTAURANT: the brightest negative imprint. The food is terrible! ! Really. For breakfast - scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, stewed beans, rice, croissants, vegetables, fruits. Delicious feta cheese. baking is the same. The coffee is just slop, the lobby is a little better, but very far from a tasty drink. coffee lovers will not find it easy here. tea 1 kind, warm milk, there are no natural juices in the restaurant, there is "colored" water, cola, local dry wine, brandy. Lunch and dinner are not much different. Do not expect an abundance of fish and meat! For 9 days we saw grilled chicken twice, once tuna and mackerel, small crab claws. stewed potatoes, falafi beans, pasta, rice, tasteless biscuit sweets, dates, orange, only delicious melon. 3 times I saw guests arguing with the chef about the scarcity of food!
FOOD on the BEACH and in the bars. : In the lobby - Nescafe coffee machine with coffee powder, make cocktails from local spirits. A bar in the main pool with packaged juices and beer from glass bottles, for lunch you can have a bite of fast food, good salads, pizza. service only by waiters to the tables, you can not take it to the sunbeds. after lunch hour - ice cream. On the beach - as in the lobby.
BEACH: to our next frustration, the beach was dirty, with cigarette butts and garbage, people smoke everywhere, there are ashtrays. We got there during the lack of water in the shower on the beach due to repairs ((Sunbeds on the beach and by the pool are dirty. Towels are dilapidated old, most of them have dirty spots that are no longer washed out (Floating pontoon, with a very uncomfortable ladder to descend into the water. The sea is good, there is live coral, we recommend you to try diving in this place.

ENTERTAINMENT: there is a good animation team, aqua aerobics, stretching, yoga, volleyball, boccia. Evening performances are quite good compared to everything else. Leaving the hotel, you can at least gain some positive emotions.
FOR CHILDREN: there is no children's menu, the food is not suitable for very young children, children. There is a swimming pool, but without a canopy. the same with a small children's slide and swings. under the blazing sun they remain untouched. There are children. a club with animators, in the evening for 20 minutes something similar to a mini disco, no competitions and undertakings, just arbitrary dances. if the kids swim, then you can swim from the pontoon in a vest or armlets. you can’t swim from the shore, unless you wet your feet at high tide.
SERVICE: the staff is adapted to our mentality, they speak Russian, they are skillfully rude in response, they gratefully accept a van dollar.
Summing up, I can say that a holiday in this hotel is quite possible, everything is in your hands, having a good supply of money for leisure and understanding that this is a budget hotel that matches its price, there are disadvantages in the food and the condition of the rooms, the sea and the location are good. Not bad for a first acquaintance with Egypt. But no more. We can recommend... but only the neighboring Sunrise Diamond, with German quality service, food and animation. Recommend or return to Royal Grand Sharm - categorically not! !
