When choosing a hotel for a holiday in Egypt, they probably re-read a thousand reviews on various resources. As a result, we chose Royal Grand Sharm 5 * and did not regret it for a second.
We flew to rest in May 2019 from the company Anex tour for 8 full days.
Arrived at 8 am, waited at the reception on the couch. Near the reception for free all day you can take (coffee from the machine, also tea, lemonade. )
At 10-11 o'clock we were put on bracelets, and we went for a walk around the territory, ate at the pool bar.
According to global rules, check-in is at 14-00, we were given the key to the room around 13-00.
The room was taken without surcharge, on the 5th floor. From the room, a view of the roof of the cafe and a beautiful view of the sea and the hotel grounds. (Who needs it, the hotel has interconnecting rooms. )

The room consists of a corridor (two wardrobes, two mirrors, a safe, a mini fridge), a bathroom (sink, mirror, toilet, bidet + shower) and a main room (bed, flat-screen TV, chest of drawers, dressing table, chair, mirror, bedside tables, a large box for suitcases, + another coffee table and 2 wicker chairs), as well as a balcony (terrace with chairs).
Hot water was always present, there were 6 towels for two (we didn’t ask to change them, we hung them on a hook after use), the air conditioner worked, they cleaned every day very carefully: the cleaner made the bed, washed the floors, even wiped the sink from the water (they left him a dollar or a chocolate bar + twisted every day swans from towels and decorated with petals). Also replenished mini soap, shower gel, shampoo.
The food at the hotel is excellent. For a week of rest, we did not even have time to try everything.
I especially liked pancakes and scrambled eggs for breakfast, pizza (super), we ate it every day, cakes freshly baked by an Arab woman in a mini oven, fish fillet in batter, french fries.
Excellent choice of meat dishes, fish (once there was pasta with crab and shrimp soup, a large selection of side dishes, soups for lunch, a lot of vegetables (freshly cut, in salads, stewed), fruits (bananas, guava, melon, oranges, apples), very tasty sweets and desserts (each meal had about 10 kinds of sweets).
Of the drinks, we drank brewed coffee every day (because I didn’t have coffee for a day, I was very worried that the coffee would be instant like in some hotels, and custard for a surcharge, but here drink as much custard as you want, if necessary with milk).
You could also take cocoa, tea, juices, soft drinks, cocktails, alcohol (we only tried wine, very good). Water is given in bottles of 0.5 - 1 -1.5 liters as many times as you want in a cafe and bar.
For a week, a free visit to a restaurant 1 time, plus a bonus cake for birthdays, and a fruit basket for newlyweds.
The territory of the hotel is green, well-groomed, constantly watered, dry leaves are removed, bushes are cut. Yoga on the lawn every day.
The main pool is large, with a bar, from 85 cm to about two meters deep, divided by a bridge. There, in a shallow area, water aerobics and other water activities take place. And in the afternoon from 15 to 16 hours ice cream.

There is also a children's paddling pool and 2 more adult pools among the buildings (quiet).
There are two beach areas: there is a quiet place with sun loungers and umbrellas and a sandy waist-deep entry into the water. You can watch the fish right there, they swim nearby, they are not afraid. Take corals, because there are sea urchins.
And the second beach area is more noisy with a bar and outdoor activities (volleyball, etc. )
The hotel has a plastic pontoon of medium length. The reef is excellent, there are a lot of fish, on different days there were various marine life.
For the first couple of days, jellyfish swam, saw a stingray, soldier fish, surgeon fish (many), Picasso fish (very interesting), butterfly fish (generally a miracle, they swim in pairs more often in shallow water) and other fish whose names they did not know .
A lifeguard was always present on the pontoon and by the pool (often helped people in the water, there were all sorts of cases).
Pool cards provide towels for sun loungers.
The hotel has a free gym (simple, but there are few visitors), a beauty salon, massage, a couple of shops, a hookah, a disco.
In the evenings on the summer playground every day live music and mini disco for children.
The rooms are arranged in tiers (5 floors), but for those who find it difficult to walk up the stairs, there are 2 elevators (they don’t break from the reception at the very top to the first floor) Although we walked, there were not many steps.
The territory is not elongated like in many other hotels, but compact and located along the width of the coastline, due to this everything is nearby and even from the entrance to the hotel (the farthest point) to the sea it takes a maximum of 5 minutes.

A big plus of the hotel, going out of the gate, is not the desert all around, but after a couple of minutes walking alley Il Mercato, shops and on foot about 2.5 km Old Market. There are a lot of souvenirs and very good prices (the main thing is to bargain to the maximum). There is also a cafe with fresh seafood, we didn’t go to Fares, but took king shrimp $ 10 per kg in Fresh Fish Center - very tasty), in other shops - freshly squeezed Mango juice $ 1 (delicious) and cane juice (for an amateur, but the seller gave it a try for free, all the locals drink it).
Back from the Old Market we took a taxi for $ 2-3.

They also called George Clooney's store via viber (the bus came for free, took it to the store and then brought it back) There are the lowest prices for sweets (Turkish delight, black honey, nougat, etc. ).
) also magnets, bags, souvenirs, corals (special shoes), masks, pipes, fruits, etc.

The only negative for the entire stay at the hotel is the Anex tour guide, very intrusive, and if you don’t want to take excursions (and we didn’t), he thinks that you just want to buy a tour not from him, but from local merchants, and gets angry. In addition to this point, the stay at the Royal Grand Sharm hotel is 10/10 points.
Departure was at 8 am, check out from the hotel at 3 am. On the road, they gave everyone a ration (a fabric bag with the name of the hotel: there is a sandwich, a banana, two sweet puffs, mini honey and jam, juice, water).
In general, we are satisfied with the rest, we think next time we will go to the same hotel.
