We rested in Sharm Plaza from July 29-6.2010.
I decided to write a detailed review - I tried to be objective, both the pros and cons will be affected, but still I have sympathy for this hotel.

I’ll give you advice right away - having decided to go to Sharm Plaza 5 *, feel free to buy a ticket to Sharm Resort 4 * (buildings VII and IX), which differs greatly in price ($ 1400 for Plaza 5 * and $ 1000 for Resort 4 *). Pay extra at the reception no more than $100 and live like gods in Plaza5* in the best buildings in the thick of everything.

ACCOMMODATION (flying with stars):

Of course, having paid for the Sharm Plaza 5 * hotel, we were settled in the VII building, which is located behind the reception and is the Sharm Resort 4 *. We knew this trick (according to reviews), so we immediately decided to pay extra. We were told the amount of $200 for the II Corps, but we were able to give only $50 and we were settled in the VIII Corps. I must say right away that the eighth buildings are villas, located on the side of the main building and have a rather pleasant view and convenient location.
You can, of course, defend your rights and prove that they are accommodating in 4 *, but they took in 5 *, but they will explain to you that IX building is 4 *, and VII is Plaza 5 *, but standart. And VIII, V buildings are already Delux, etc.

FOOD:
What can we say - they feed in Sharm Plaza a lot and well. And a lot depends on you. You can stupidly go to two buffet restaurants every day, and then complain about the monotony of food. And you can sign up every morning in one of the five a la carte restaurants, where the waiters will bring you shrimp in a melon and other seafood delicacies (in the continental restaurant "Sea View") for free. In the Italian restaurant "Via Veneto" you will try fituccini, lasagna, pizzas, gazpacho soups, etc. Sushi, squid cooked in front of you and other spicy chickens will be served at Seville's Asian restaurant. And all sorts of kebabs, kebab in the Lebanese restaurant "All Hawara".
The variety of the menu is impressive.
Visiting 2 times a day to different restaurants, we tried almost a quarter of what was offered (then we still had the audacity to go to the usual buffet in 2 hours). . Note that this is absolutely free. The only thing I can advise you is to leave $ 1 or 5 Egyptian pounds before ordering to the waiter and he will rush in front of you, bring it - take it away. No $ 1 - you will wait, and possibly for a long time. So, do not be stingy, such are the rules in these restaurants!
There are a lot of drinks. In addition to the bar at Seville's, you can have a drink in two bars by the sea. Assortment - beer, gin, rum, whiskey, tequila, cognac, cocktails. All this is included in the all inclusive and bottled in unlimited quantities.

TERRITORY AND SEA:
Well, if you go to a fairy tale - so it's here.

Ideally clean and well-groomed territory - houses, stairs, gardens, patios, swimming pools, small squares, viewing platforms, an artificial river that runs through the hotel. In general, turning a blind eye to some of the disadvantages that are written in the reviews, take a ticket and enjoy a neat Moroccan-style toy town, and not a block of stone buildings that were in neighboring hotels.
The hotel buildings are on a slope, all the time you will move up the stairs, so tune in to this in advance.
The coral reef is one of the most beautiful on the coast. I swam for half a day to neighboring hotels, and the coast at Sharm Plaza favorably differed. The water in the Red Sea is salty, so don’t drown)) I myself swim poorly, but the water holds and I swam for 3 hours without going ashore. Be sure to buy a mask with a snorkel, coral slippers are not needed if you are not going to walk on them (yes, no one will allow you).
ENTERTAINMENT AND ANIMATION:
What really prevaricate - the hotel is not for high-profile events. The main population is German pensioners, and, apparently, the policy of the administration is - do not interfere! The disco is located in a small room behind the reception, water slides are in the same place. There was no dancing until morning. True, on Fridays, animators take out at 22.30 for free on buses to the Gazala foam disco, which is a two-minute walk from Naama-Bay. Drinks are expensive there and you should just bring them with you. So we did. There were no checks - you pull it out and drink it. It was a lot of fun!
The hotel animators are cheerful and cultured people, but the entertainment is very small and boring. We went to water aerobics with Alberto and Polina and in the evening for half an hour in the La Veranda restaurant you can listen to calm European live music and participate in a couple of competitions. All these contests are more cultural than entertainment. There are no horns and dances until you drop in this hotel
.
In general, all week long you will contemplate the beautiful territory of the hotel, eat well-cooked food in restaurants, drink delicious beer and juices in bars and go to bed at 23.00.

KHUHRY-MUHRY, or what they will not tell you about:
1. TAXI - near the hotel to Naama-Bay - $ 8-10, walk 2 minutes to the highway - $ 5 with joy for the car. We drove to the old city (Old Market) for $ 6 with bargaining.

2. I bought excellent Egyptian whiskey 1 liter from bartenders near the beach for only $5, in l. nb-free they cost about $15. Only, of course, everything is secretly put by him in your beach bag and taken out by you as gifts to your friends. Guava juice from the underground - $ 1 per liter package.
3. Hookah in the hotel $ 6, it is tasteless and bitter, everyone who tried was dissatisfied. In Naama-Bay, smoking a hookah is also $6, but some fees, tips will be added to the bill, as a result, the hookah will cost $10, be prepared for this! Fool our brother!
4. Excursions with Muhammad are expensive - $ 160 per person to Jerusalem, but if you have money and laziness - take it!
In Naama-Bay Jerusalem costs $80, but you can run into it here.
5. Be sure to leave a tip of $ 1 in restaurants and your cleaner (you can do it every other day). He will rejoice at the meeting, wave his hand and, at least, there is a chance that nothing will be removed from the number.

EPILOGUE:

Your two main tasks are not to get into the 7th and 9th buildings and to tip. Then the rest will seem like a fairy tale!
Arabs are very poor, but their politeness, humor and friendliness are captivating.
The seller is tired of bargaining with me in the market in the Old Town and speaks in broken Russian - “I am no longer bargaining with you! Do you know why? You know who I am! Here's my business card! ". He holds out a business card, and on it in Russian letters - “Philip Kirkorov. Hookah, souvenirs. Another seller says - "$30 a vase and you can take another cat for free" (near him a dirty gray kitten walked).
Go to relax in a good mood, take pictures on the territory of the hotel, snorkel and explore the underwater world, drink beer in bars, lie on the beach, go to a la carte restaurants and go to Naama-Bay or the Old Town. Most importantly, do not sit in your room - and you will remember your vacation in a fairy tale called Sharm Plaza!
