We rested at the Sheraton Sharm Resort in mid-February 2007. The rest as a whole left the most pleasant impressions. We chose the hotel knowing that we were going to live in 4 *, but on the territory of 5 *. We lived in the Manta building on the second floor overlooking the pool. In general, all rooms in this building, as well as the Dolphin building (rooms with "2" and "3") have a view of the pool. The rooms correspond to the photographs presented in the description of the hotel, but you can already feel the “patent of time”, namely, in some places pretty dirty walls, peeling paint. On the second floor, rooms alternate (large room + large balcony and smaller room + tiny balcony). These numbers are newer than those starting with "1" but older than those starting with "4". Buildings with "1" are one-story. The building with "4" is two-story, but the most remote (behind it is a construction site) and does not have its own pool, but with a wonderful view of the park. Initially, we were settled in the last building, but after talking with the administration, we reviewed a number of rooms and chose the one that suited us. I want to say right away that my husband speaks English, and this will make it incredibly easier to resolve all sorts of issues on vacation (checked more than once). There were no additional fees associated with relocation, anti-mosquito treatment of the room, or rearrangement of beds. Porters and mustard - tips at your discretion. We gave, for which we had petals, bouquets and all kinds of architectural forms from towels in unlimited quantities, as well as the towel itself. The quality of cleaning and change of linen did not cause any complaints.
The area, as noted by other tourists, is wonderful. It is so huge and well-groomed that walks, both on the territory itself and along the beach, were a pleasure. True, something strange happened twice during the rest. In the evening, a diesel engine was turned on near the building with “1” and it smoked furiously, perhaps as part of the fight against some parasites, but the smoke did not dissipate for a long time and visited an incomparable feeling of “native air”. Remember that from the last building to the beach directly 400-500 meters (I don’t pretend to be particularly accurate, but not close) and the territory is organized by terraces with fairly large height differences, so you’ll have to go home a lot and uphill (on steps). True, a shuttle runs around the territory, which will take you to any building. Incl. if you are with a small child or elderly parents it may not be comfortable to live in a resort, then you are in the main building, but for other money.
We were lucky with the weather. It was 24-26 degrees. The water is warm enough. We acclimatized for a couple of days.

Further. Nutrition. We had all inclusive, moreover, because. It was out of season, you could use the bars and restaurants of the main hotel, except for the lobby bar in its lobby. We had breakfast at the Resort's restaurant, lunch according to our mood, and dinner in the main building. The main restaurant left a more favorable impression (quality of food, service, assortment, atmosphere), but this does not mean that the Resort is bad, I would say more democratic (some kind of base for testing and training staff for the main building). Fruit and desserts were plentiful and of good quality. The food is generally typical for the "Red-Mediterranean resorts", there were no complaints about the quality and assortment. Wine included in the meal is a solid ordinary table drink, without any special frills. A large number of bars on the territory, beach and pools. There are no issues with the lack of drinks in the bar. Pour as many times and as many as requested.
The beach is HUGE, clean with a beautiful coastline. Pantone is not very long, but small. I think in season, there is a full house. Regarding towels, there was a case when we lost one while playing volleyball, but after negotiations with the employee who gives them out, we received a new one (again, without remuneration). Neighbors got out of this situation differently: in the evening, when vacationers leave for dinner, ownerless towels remain on the beach, which workers collect at sunset, they lingered on the beach and thus made up for their loss.
From the animation on the beach, water aerobics, dancing, volleyball, water polo, darts. There is a kids club.
There are a lot of pools, I did not count. But they were hardly used, because. not heated frankly cool, and heated almost all the time filled with animation and children. And the sea was good too.
From "outside the hotel". Naama Bay, Hadaba and the Old City did not impress. It is worth going once for an hour for souvenirs, if someone needs water. Of the excursions, we were on a walk on a yacht - it didn’t make an impression, it was windy, and the hotel has its own beautiful reef - swim and admire as much as you like. ATVs are cool, but it’s better to ride on your own with a personal instructor, more drive and more impressions. And so in single file - boring. And people with spinal problems, keep in mind - the shaking is not small.

Monastery of St. Catherine and Mount Moses. Climbing is not very difficult, but remember about the equipment, of course you can take a blanket there, but if you know at home that you are going to climb, it’s better to think in advance so that you don’t get wet on the way, and you don’t get stiff at the top. It's better to go down the path of the monks - it's really beautiful, but 3800 steps down... remember this. The monastery itself, with all the holiness of this place, gives the impression of a Bedouin commercial caravanserai, in connection with this, the feeling of “holiness” is greatly eroded.
Cairo-Alexandria (2 days). Interesting, and very ambiguous. Contradictory feelings, but this is exactly what Egypt is, and not Hurghada and Sharm. Look.
By the way, another opportunity to replenish water supplies. On long excursions, buses always have free bottled drinking water.
