Rested in Shores Amphoras from 10 to 20 April 2010. family of 2 adults and a 7 year old child. The hotel is now 5* by the way. I will try to adequately evaluate the funds spent and the result obtained: ))), because I think that everything needs to be evaluated in terms of the costs incurred. Before this hotel, we rested in chain hotels, but holidays there are a little more expensive, so I don’t see any point in comparing this hotel with Hilton, Radisson Sas, etc. Objectively, the hotel is not bad, but I won’t put a five, there are minor flaws that are unacceptable for fives, such as the lack of drinking water in the rooms, or at least coolers in the corridors of the bungalow. Therefore, a solid four, striving (with the diligence of the owners) to the five. There are a lot of reviews for this hotel, most of them are true. We ourselves chose this hotel solely because of the cost, for the three of us it turned out to be $2.300 for 10 nights.
For the money spent, we were satisfied with the rest, although if desired, people in expensive hotels will find a bunch of shortcomings.
Well, now in order:

- check-in and accommodation

we were lucky (or unlucky) to arrive at the hotel at half past seven in the morning local time. the tour operator decided that tourists should not lose an hour: ))), we flew to Egypt at 3 am, back at 9 pm. so, morning, we are at reception. bracelets are put on at 11 am, resettlement begins around one in the afternoon. absolutely normal practice for all hotels around the world: check-out before 12 noon, check-in after 2 pm. We never put money in our passports upon check-in, we adhered to the policy "we'll look at the number, if it's not buzzing, we'll change it. " So they never changed it : ))) Here we did not change ourselves. At half past twelve, when after a sleepless night and a flight there was no strength left at all, I went to find out when the room would be available for us.
By the way, I can give good advice to all the same lucky ones who will be brought to the hotel early in the morning. You can prepare a bag with beach clothes and shoes at home and put it on top of all the things in your suitcase upon arrival, so as not to languish at the reception, where, in principle, you can take a nap on the sofas, but it’s quite noisy, you can safely get your bag, change clothes in the toilet on reception and go either directly to the beach or to any of the 6 pools. On sun loungers it is more pleasant to sleep, and quiet, and you can swim. I, having prepared this package in advance, for some reason got overweight to change clothes, and, as I already said, at half past twelve I decided to hurry up with resettlement. The people at the reception, by the way, are kind, speak good English. I don’t know about Russian, but there are always Russian girls at the reception who always help.
At the reception, they persuaded me for a long time to wait for a good room for another hour, but my strength was gone and we agreed, but the one that was one of the first to be vacated.

- Room(s)

We got the room at number 7202, this is the very edge of the hotel, one of the windows overlooked the street, or rather the hotel territory, the other window with a balcony overlooks the courtyard with the pool. The hotel is designed in such a way that next to any bungalow there will be a swimming pool, of which there are 6 pieces on the territory. 5 of them are ceramic, one, the largest and deepest, is ordinary tiled. Next to it is a jacuzzi and a small children's pool. Standard room, in fact, they paid money for it, 35 squares in total, along with a bathroom and a balcony. By the way, all rooms have balconies or terraces on the first floors. Repairs and furniture cannot be said to be new, but you cannot call them old either. As someone in the reviews correctly called - tired.
In general, everything is positive, cozy and clean, with the exception of one huge minus of the section of rooms starting with 7 and part with 5 - this is a cooling system generator running in the restaurant of the neighboring Shores Aloha hotel. Even with the windows completely closed, the noise could be heard. In general, after two nights of low-frequency buzzing, I set out to change the number. The room was changed without problems and additional payments, they gave us a two-room family chalet with a kitchen (I wonder if it was useful to someone on vacation? : ))) on the first floor. Directly under the windows of the pool. This is the section of rooms starting with 1, the furthest from the sea and the closest to the restaurant and reception. In our restaurant building, by the way, the cooling generator also makes noise, but it was not audible in our room, because both balconies overlooked the garden. All in all, we were satisfied with our new location. And if by standards, it is better to try to check into rooms starting with 4 or 5. But at 5, windows that do not overlook Shores Aloha.
- Territory

Undoubtedly big, green, beautiful, well-groomed. And herons walk on the lawns. Small and shy like our chickens : ))))

- Nutrition

Quite normal, like everywhere else in Egypt. The main restaurant Amphoras is large, with about 500 seats. It is divided into 2 parts solely in terms of convenience, since food stands are located both on the left and on the right. Only the bar where alcoholic drinks are poured is located on the right side of the restaurant (from the main entrance). I hasten to reassure my compatriots: ))) - alcohol is poured without restrictions. Beer - draft Sakara, it is the same in many hotels in Egypt, delicious light beer. In the bar on the beach they pour it into plastic cups, and in the bar at the reception in decent beer mugs: ))). Wine - draft taxi, many complained about the deterioration of digestion after it. In general, in order to avoid excesses with the stomach, I advise you to take at least 5-6 days first with food a tablet of mezim and half a tablet of fthalazole.
In any case, there will be adaptation to local water, food and climate. Those who are strongly affected often mistake the adaptation or the results of all-inclusive abuse for poisoning. Local strong spirits are a rare muck. First time encountered this. As well as with the fact that all cocktails in the bar for extra. fee, in all you can only mix rum-whiskey-cola yourself, but you can’t drink it. Bottom line: either bring your own alcohol, or on the first 2 days of arrival we go to Naama (by the way, by appointment with the reception, a free bus 2 times a day) to the dutik. Do not forget to take your passports with you, without them they will not be sold. Orange or pineapple juices - adjustable, also taxibesh. There are no guava nectars, no mangoes: (((We bought them in supermarkets, of which there are 2 in the neighborhood. Below I will tell you how to find them. Cola, sprite, fanta in free bottling. Water is only in coolers and only in bars. It is forbidden to pour it into a bottle This is a huge fat minus the hotel.
The savings are penny, but the image spoils irrevocably. Water was bought again in supermarkets.
Breakfasts are quite standard: 5-6 types of dry breakfasts, rice and oatmeal, omelettes, sausages, meatballs, salads, vegetables, fruits in the form of salads, dried fruits, draft yogurts and in glasses, a lot of pastries, pancakes, croissants and watering and sprinkles for them.
Lunch - mashed vegetable soups (I love them, my husband doesn’t eat them), 3-4 types of side dishes such as rice, pasta, potatoes, lasagna, separately cook pasta, chicken or duck, meat, fish. Either fried, or stewed, or baked. Fruits: apples, oranges, tangerines, physalis, guava, pears, grapefruits, melons, watermelons. Strawberries are either on the market, or all in the same supermarkets, if the season. A bunch of pastries, really tasty and varied.

Dinner - the same lunch plus a grill outside. Sometimes waffles were made on the street, or ice cream was given in the evenings. Grilled fish, meat, chicken, turkey, duck, cutlets, cradles.
They baked pita bread or pita-type cakes. The grill is objectively questionable. The meat is raw and tasteless. A couple of times it was only well marinated. Chicken, turkey and duck are delicious.
Ice cream - 2 times a day at the Cabana bar on the beach, they write in the welcome brochure that only 1 scoop for children. They really impose a whole glass, you can go more than once. Pizza is there from 12 noon to noon. The child liked it, but really just dough smeared with ketchup and lightly sprinkled with cheese. The Italians, by the way, surprisingly liked it too: ))) There, in the Cabana bar, you can dine with salads, french fries, chicken during the day, pastries with tea or coffee in the evening from 4 to 5.
In general, the food is good and varied. By the end of the holiday, everything gets boring anyway: )))
There are 2 more a-la carte restaurants: Bella Vista Italian and Mermaid fish. They can be visited 1 time for free by appointment, but all drinks are paid. We didn't go to either the first or the second. Somehow there was no desire: )))
- Hotel location

Near the hotel is, as I mentioned, 2 supermarkets where you can buy water, juices. It is better to buy fruits and souvenirs on the shopping street near 1001 nights. The first supermarket is a 2-3 minute walk, as we left the reception, immediately to the right. Another supermarket 24/7 minutes at 7-10 walking distance. From the reception to the left, you get to the protection of the Ritz-Carlton (this is the first intersection, on the left is Shores Golden) and at the intersection to the right. There is a supermarket on this street. At the next crossroads (landmark Pharaoh on the map) we turn left and we can either get to Il-Mercato (local MegaMall: ))), a little further on 1001 nights. Just along it is a shopping street, everything is the same as in Naama. Bargain for the same prices. Do not pass by, because everything literally sparkles with multi-colored lights. You can also buy fruits there. If you go through the entire shopping street, you will come to the water park (the former Bora-Bora hotel).
But it’s better to take an excursion there, the prices are the same, but they will bring it back and forth, meals will be included, except for alcoholic drinks for the duration of your stay. The Tez-tour has an excursion to this water park, the rest to the Cleopark, located in Naama. We were there a couple of years ago, we liked Bora-Bora more: there are more slides, especially for children. If you are completely fans of hiking, then you can go to the Old Town on foot. A total of 45-50 minutes from the hotel one way. Taxi $3.
For hotels - on the right is the Ritz Carlton, on the left is the hotel of the same Shores Aloha chain, across the road (second coastal) Sol and Mar and Shores Golden. Shores Golden uses Shores Aloha Beach. 20 minutes from the airport with hotel transfers.

- Beach and sea.

That's what we're going for: ))) The beach is big, two tiers. There are a lot of sun loungers, you can come at 10 o'clock and you won't be left without them. Beachboy will find them for you and bring them wherever you say.
There were always enough towels, no one stole, as many write in the reviews, they calmly left for lunch and left them on sun loungers, in fact, as in all hotels. There is a swimming pool on the beach, there are also enough sun loungers around it. The pier is nice, solid wooden bridge with steps into the water. The depth is about 20 meters. From the shore you can only go 7-10 meters, wander in shallow water, then corals. The sea in April is already warm, but occasionally slightly worried, plus the current. For a couple of days it was very tangible, the lifeguard on duty several times took out those who no longer had the strength to rake out. There are enough fish, but we visited a hotel in White Knight Bay a couple of years ago, and have not seen anything better since then. However, the reef is quite decent. There is something to see.

- Service

Unobtrusive, efficient. Cleaning, change of towels and bed linen without complaints, we always leave a tip. The waiters in the restaurants are efficient and also unobtrusive.
If you approached the table without cutlery, it is enough to stand for about a minute, as a waiter with cutlery jumps up to you, clarify how many people to cover and everything will be done. Respechen, as I said, are pleasant people in communication. Most importantly, do not raise your voice or be rude to anyone. Get exactly the opposite of what you want. Not a single person in his mind will accept rudeness.

- Animation

Since the hotel is Italian-oriented and those are about 3/4 in the hotel, the animation is exclusively Italian, but there is international, where there are 4 Russian young ladies. Of course, Italian is not an example of livelier, more energetic. Italian animators work with children almost the whole day, ours - a couple of times in all 10 days. And so everyone, if desired, will find something to do: gymnastics, aqua aerobics, football, volleyball, darts, bocce on the beach. On the beach there is a playground and table tennis. In the evenings, there are also two children's discos: at 20:30 for our children, at 21:00 for Italians.
At 22:00 in the theater on the street, in an oriental cafe or in a bar for a reception show: fakir show, oriental, fire, miss or mr amphoras. At 23:00 the program is over, the hotel is quiet. Everyone who wants every evening at 23:30 is waiting at the reception for a bus to Naama for a disco, for money. Therefore, I will not call this hotel a youth hotel, I would not choose such a hotel. Youth has a direct road to Naama hotels. And this is a hotel for families with children, or for those who are already older.

Regarding the Italians, there is a lot of different information in the reviews - I did not notice any division of the service depending on who you are. No one divides the restaurant into Italian and Russian halves, the food is the same everywhere : )))) The orange bracelets of Italians are just food, without alcohol. Yes, they are much noisier than us, if you know it annoys you, you should not go here. You'll get used to it in a couple of days. In general, they are very pleasant and friendly.
When checking out, the bracelets are not cut off, you can eat and drink calmly until the moment of departure. Rooms are normally released at 12. If there is a desire and free rooms for extra. The stay in the room can be extended.

The overall impression of the hotel, as I already wrote, is positive, the rest was a success and we were satisfied with it. But we won't be back a second time. Although we never return to the hotels we have visited, if the country remains the same, at least the hotel should be different: ))) This is our point of view, quite possibly different from someone else's.
