We rested twenty days in November 2020 in Sharm El Sheikh. Changed during the rest of several five-star hotels with beautiful coral reefs. Among them was the Shores Amphoras Resort 5 hotel (the old name is Otium Amphoras or Otium Family Amphoras Beach Resort 5 *).
We have the best memories of our stay at this hotel. This is a really good five and at great prices!
When choosing a hotel in Sharm El Sheikh, we primarily focused on the location of the hotel and service. We booked a double room at the Shores Amphoras hotel on the All system on our own on Booking Com. At that time it was the lowest price. The total cost of the reservation with taxes is about $70 per day. Stay at the hotel from 16 to 21 November 2020.
ABOUT SHORES AMPHORAS
The hotel area is large, beautiful, well-groomed, with several pools and bars between the buildings. The hotel is built in two-storey buildings. The staff is polite and helpful. There are always at least two employees at the reception.
We had a standard double room No. 5136 on the first floor with a beautiful view of nature and quite quiet. The room is clean and spacious, about 30 sq. m, fully furnished. The furniture is old but in good condition. The air conditioning in the rooms was central and worked well. The room has a TV (there are several Russian channels), a mini-bar and a safe. The room also has a tea set (tea, coffee, sugar) and an electric kettle; in the refrigerator - water, juice and cookies. Replenished every day.
The bathroom has a shower, toilet and bidet. The mirror has a wall-mounted hair dryer. Shampoo and shower gel are always available.
Free WiFi only at reception and restaurant. But finishes up to some buildings.
The room's terrace offers panoramic views of the garden and pool. From the balcony of the room you can watch the life of birds. There were a lot of them, to our surprise. Herons, hoopoes, crows. There is no clothes dryer on the terrace of the room.
Therefore, take a rope with you from home. There were a lot of mosquitoes in the evenings in November, so try not to open the windows in the evening.
We lived in the hotel for 6 days, of which two days the room was not cleaned, although we hung signs about the need to clean. At the same time, the staff brought bottled water and changed towels. Our friend, who lives in another building, had no problems with cleaning the room.
Nearby is the Shores Aloha 4 * hotel of the same Shores chain. It has more than 200 rooms and accommodation prices are lower

Shores Amphoras Resort - is located on the first line in the beautiful bay of Amphoras, named after a Greek ship that sank 200 years ago, carrying amphoras with wine. That is why, in addition to the beautiful corals, this place is so attractive for diving enthusiasts.
The distance from Shores Amphoras Resort 5 Sharm el Sheikh to the international airport is 18 km, to the city center of Naama Bay 5 km, to the old market 2 km.

The territory is equipped with a playground and a kids club, where the child will have a great time. For children, they come up with a huge number of activities: creative and educational games, activities in the pool and on the street, mini-disco.
RESTAURANT
Buffet in the usual sense does not work. All meals are served by hotel staff. There are no queues! I would especially like to note the restaurant and the high quality of service! I liked the food very much: high quality and varied. The grill is working. Seafood every day and several types (tuna, crabs, red mullet, etc. ). In November, from fruits: persimmons, oranges, melon, agave, pomegranates, grapes, dates. There were several a la carte restaurants. The beachfront Orient Restaurant serves Oriental cuisine.
Italian cuisine lovers can visit the Bella Vista restaurant (in the main building, on the second floor). Only Turkish alcohol and drinks are free in bars and restaurants. You can order alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails of several types.
BEACH AND CORAL REEF
The sandy beach is well maintained with comfortable wide sunbeds. There are three zones on the beach. The sand on the beach is raked and garbage is constantly removed.
Here is an excellent 300 m coral reef, which is washed by the crystal clear waters of the Red Sea. Corals are alive, numerous fish of all colors of the rainbow (see video at the link above). The entrance to the sea is carried out from a stationary pontoon (pier). The design of the pontoon is well thought out and convenient for getting in and out of the sea. A lifeguard is constantly on duty on the pontoon, who monitors the situation at sea and currents. There is a place cleared of corals where children and non-swimmers can swim.
Access to the beach is possible with the help of several paved slopes and an elevator.
Of the six days spent here in mid-November, three days before lunch the red flag was raised due to rough seas and strong currents. After lunch, the sea calmed down and it was already possible to swim near the coral reef.
PANDEMIC
The Shores Amphoras Resort was about 20-30% full in mid-November. Sanitizers are installed throughout the hotel. In the restaurant and bars, the distribution is carried out by the hotel staff in masks and gloves. We stayed in November in two different five-star hotels. All these hotels have all the necessary certificates for working with tourists during the pandemic. However, as it turned out, the approach is different everywhere. At Dreams Beach 5 *, at the entrance to the hotel and restaurant, the temperature is measured every time you enter. That's at least 3 times a day. In Shores Amphoras, during our six days of stay, we only had our temperature taken once.
On the beaches, in the hotel, around the city - everyone is without masks.
But in transport, large supermarkets, communication stores, airports, wearing masks is mandatory. Follow it strictly

Hotel SHORES AMPHORAS liked very much. In our opinion, it corresponds to a 5 * hotel with a slight minus.
Of the pluses - relatively low price, good location of the hotel, beautiful and well-groomed territory, excellent coral reef, excellent animation. Separately, it is worth mentioning the quality of food and its variety. The restaurant and service is at a very high level.
Of the minuses: free WiFi is still not as good as we would like. Therefore, if you need good internet, you can buy an Orange or Vodafone SIM card. According to reviews, it is not recommended to buy SIM cards at the airport, it is better to buy in Egyptian communication salons. The nearest ones are in the shopping center Il Mercato.
Well, I already wrote about cleaning the room above. This, of course, is nonsense for a five-star hotel. But this is perhaps the only negative, and this is not a system. They treated the cleaning only in our building badly.
