Shores Amphores 5* Sharm El Sheikh Egypt September 19-30.2011

Terminal F, Boryspil Airport, and - postponement of departure by 8 hours! Instead of 12.15, at 19.55, and since we naturally arrived well in advance, we accordingly spent 10 hours in the arrivals and departures hall with cognac, suitcases and expectations of a fantastic vacation.
The hotel, which is nice, is a 15-minute drive from the airport, we arrived there around 1 am. By the way, probably more than 20 people were getting off the bus, and everyone was joking about the same thing. The fact is that almost all tourists were assured by travel agencies that this is an Italian hotel without Russians)))
We were the last to check into the room, because the guys at the reception hesitated for a long time and probably expected some interesting offer from us, which never came from us, but we smiled very intensely.

I think we made the impression of being slightly insane) and unexpectedly for us we were settled in one of the best rooms where Russians and other Russian speakers are practically not accommodated - these are block numbers 4 and 5 (ours was 5 - the first floor overlooking the bar from the balcony and swimming pool and the same distance to the sea and to the restaurant). Actually - this was our first day, or rather the night, in Shores Amphores 5 *, and in Egypt, by the way, too - before that I was in Turkey, Tunisia and excursion Europe. And the first impression is, of course, very hot: +31 at night at the end of September.
In the morning we walked a minute and a half to the restaurant - I’ll say right away that all the food is pretty decent, we never had any problems with either the diet or digestion. For breakfast - standard eggs, omelettes, scrambled eggs, milk porridge, cheeses, sausages, sausages, muesli, yogurt, pastries (many! ), fruits, vegetables, juices, tea, coffee.
For lunch - soup, stewed vegetables, meat, meatballs, sausages, chops, chicken, lasagna, several types of pasta, french fries, rice, a lot of vegetables, again a lot of pastries + beer and wine. Dinners - always with several types of grilled treats - are often themed - sea (several types of fish, crabs, sushi, seafood salads, etc. ), Egyptian (national dishes - meat, couscous, dishes in batter), Italian (paella, risotto, pasta). Even in the evening they bake cakes on the street, make waffles, lazy shawarma (everything is given out separately), they give frozen juice, and a lot of sweets. There is always a lot of fruit for dinner - melons, watermelons, apples, pears, grapes, oranges with a bright green rind, grapefruits, pomegranates, fresh and dried dates. You won't leave hungry for sure. Even on the beach in the bar you can eat all day long - breakfast, lunch, lunch, and afternoon tea.
As for the swill: it is, of course, not a fountain (: but you can drink out of hopelessness.
The most decent, in my opinion, is beer, but not keg, but what is poured from bottles in the bar, which is in the reception building. The lobby bar is paid to be kept in mind. Wine - so-so, white - sour, reminiscent of a cheap tamyanka, and pink, actually cloudy pink, something sips on homemade sour plum. All strong alcohol (vodka, whiskey, rum, gin and other lobuda) smells a little with alcohol and does not fundamentally differ from each other. We were saved by supplies from the dutik, and cocktails at the bar.

Let's go back to the hotel - the territory is very beautiful, large and very well-groomed, someone is constantly cutting the bushes, leveling the trees, grass, taking care of the flowers, scrubbing the floors, and even the asphalt with soapy solutions, and how they polish the marble in the lobby every night! Several hours in a row.
There are a lot of two-story bungalows, which are called blocks, the farthest 1 and 7, the steepest - 6 overlooking the sea, the hotel has about 500 rooms, 5 pools and the same number of bars. The truth is that the Italians sleep for a long time, so you can find a place on the beach all the time, sun loungers with good mattresses, towels are issued every day on cards from 8.00 to 17.30, an elevator descends to the beach, which, lo and behold, has air conditioning!
In the room, bedding and towels were changed, with us personally, every day. From time to time our cleaner (who doesn’t know, only men work in hotels in Egypt) twisted the figures, and always folded our things, and that’s why we always hid our linen so that we wouldn’t twist anything (and ourselves too). They always left something in gratitude - a dollar or chocolate. The room is spacious, with normal soundproofing, both between rooms and from the street. Comfortable mattresses, everything in the room worked. There are wicker furniture on the veranda, a glass table - we liked everything.
Ala carta restaurants: Italian Bella Vista and sea Marmeid are quite normal, not chic, but for a change you can go, especially since 2 visits are free (by the way, you can sign up, for example, in Shores Aloha (4 * hotel across the fence) in a restaurant seafood and in Shores Golden (4 * hotel across the road on the second line) to a Mediterranean restaurant, but we decided why should we go somewhere else? ) They give a choice of salads in the buffet, then soup, and after the main course, which you can choose when booking a table and dessert. Drinks in the restaurant are paid, wine costs 20-30 dollars a bottle, but it can not be compared with the free one, quite noble (we took the pink Omar Khayyam).
When meeting with the guide, we took several excursions (all through the Tez-tour), due to the unstable situation, so that there were insurance guarantees.

Comrades, fellow citizens and all reasonable people! ! ! ! Do not go to the pyramids for any gingerbread!
Everyone who comes from Egypt says the same thing, but when we get there, we wind ourselves up: How is it to be in Egypt and not go to Cairo? ! Imagine yes. It is better to spend more time on the Red Sea, which is really amazing and fantastic! Cairo is a dirty, dusty, poor city of 15 million people, with a terribly ugly Nile river of garbage. The Cairo National Museum is a collection of piles of stones and rags that do not know the word wet cleaning. The pyramids themselves on the outskirts of Cairo, in the city of Giza, are some kind of compilation of flying bags, rolling bottles, a huge number of beggars, sellers of papyrus and figurines, and a dilapidated sphinx. And in no case do not go to the perfume factory and the papyrus factory! ! ! I have never seen such a divorce, even at Barabashovo)))) You can add 550 km to this beautiful bouquet of shortcomings. there and the same amount back with stops near filthy roadside cafes.
Now about the good - what you should definitely try is diving! Scuba diving is something fabulous! Sharm has very beautiful coral reefs and an incredible variety of fish. The most beautiful places where they are taken are the Ras Mohammed reserve and the island of Tiran. The boats are all clean and white, the crews are very friendly, the instructors are attentive, the diving equipment, however, has been worn out. Snorkeling is also swimming with a mask and snorkel and fins at will. Very beautiful places near Tirana, where the ship sunk on coral reefs.
A trip to the mountains on ATVs is quite extreme!
There is also a lot of animation, especially Italian - they tryndyat the whole day without stopping. From the very morning gymnastics, aqua aerobics, boccia, darts, ping-pong, football, volleyball, dancing, belly dancing. In the evening, mini disco, fakir show, fire show, Mr. and Miss Amphora, entertainment shows.

But I must say right away that the Italians there are really separate from everyone. It is said that they do not know any other language, therefore they do not seek to communicate with anyone else, except for their own similar tattooed, pierced and combed compatriots. But Ukrainians, Russians, Poles, Belarusians, British and Egyptians go to the same animation perfectly and everyone understands each other.
Also - the Egyptians, those who are men - super, mega, intensely annoying, even if you are not a single woman. Therefore, either go on vacation to Europe, or be prepared that you just won’t go out into the street from the hotel and won’t go shopping, it’s more expensive for yourself. And even more so, you won’t go to any disco))) But to be honest, the beauty of the Red Sea has a huge advantage when choosing Egypt.
I wish you all a great holiday! ! !
