Traveled with my husband and child (12 years old) from 19 to 28.06. 2012 from the tour operator "Anex Tour".
A few words about the tour operator.
For those who don’t know yet, I want to say that Anex is one of the worst companies, for ourselves we generally dubbed it an “anus tour”, because that’s how they work. Immediately upon arrival, the employees of the “anus” direct all tourists to their counters and shove Egyptian visas for $17, although their price is $15 (a little further there is a cash desk where you can safely buy them yourself). On the bus, the meeting guide assures us of the need to come to the meeting with the hotel guide, intimidating with all sorts of nonsense: that he must register us with the local police, and without this registration it is impossible to leave the hotel (they may even be arrested), and who else will not come to the meeting with the guide, he will not have a return transfer from the hotel to the airport (people who 1 time in Egypt seriously believe in this nonsense).

The hotel guide is engaged exclusively in the sale of excursions, while “forgetting” to post the list of travelers and the time of the return transfer (you need to call him). However, we had already dealt with Anex, so we were ready for such service.

Now actually about the hotel.
In general, the hotel is very good: beautiful grounds, interesting architecture, spacious well-furnished rooms. But, since there is no limit to perfection, minor flaws are still present:
1. Resting in a hot country, you want to have a normal refrigerator in your room, but there is only a mini-bar in the room that maintains room temperature (+20).
2. The food is really somewhat monotonous. Personally, I lacked olives, eggplant and, especially, fruits. Fruits are presented well, VERY modestly - melon, oranges, a couple of times there were dates and 1 time peaches. Of course, you can buy fruits because they cost a penny here, but let's get back to p.
1 - there is nowhere to store them, and they deteriorate quickly. But I was very pleased with the varied and delicious pastries.
3. A strange situation with drinking water - at the entrance they give a bottle of water 1.5l and that's it ...then you need to buy water. There are no coolers with drinking water on the territory of the hotel, only in the dining room, and then next to it there is a sign not to type in bottles. For a hotel of this level, it’s somehow not solid, especially since in Egypt even teeth are advised to be cleaned with drinking water, and not from a tap.
4. Well, and another very tiny, purely my husband and I remark - when you come to a foreign country, you want to plunge into its atmosphere. Nothing contributes to this like music, but instead of beautiful Arabic music, very beautiful, but classic, is also carried around the hotel. Opera aria against the backdrop of palm trees and local architecture - it's quite original, but somehow out of place : )

Here, perhaps, are all the shortcomings and, believe me, they are lost against the background of the main advantage - the most beautiful blue sea and a gorgeous coral reef. We went on an excursion to the Blue Hole and did not see anything new there that would not be on our reef. Perhaps that is why every day many tourists from other hotels are brought to our reef for an excursion. Personally, these sightseers did not interfere with us at all, because they brought them at lunchtime, when we were already going to dinner, and when we returned, they were gone.
Regarding the hotel staff - I can only praise, everyone from the administration to the cleaners make every effort to please the guests. Our child just had a birthday, so for dinner they set the table very beautifully for us (with candles and flower petals), and the cake was taken out with songs and dances - the child was delighted.
If one of the staff behaves somehow wrong, for example, it is rude (there was one such bartender), then after the complaint the administrator had an “educational conversation” with him and the person immediately changed.
For whom it is important, the hotel is really located far from the entertainment centers of Naama Bay, Old Market and 1001 Nights, but Soho is very close. We went there on foot, about 15-20 minutes (although for this you need to go through some construction site in the dark, I would recommend girls in heels and unaccompanied men to use a hotel bus or taxi). You can get to Naama Bay and Old Market by bus from the hotel (I don’t remember the cost), by taxi, $5-6 (you have to bargain because they initially want $10-15) or by local transport - for this you have to walk to the highway OK. 2 km, and then take a local minibus, 3 pounds per person (you also need to bargain, because tourists may be required to pay 15 pounds).

I can't understand people who write in their reviews that the hotel is boring. The hotel animation is a little rustic, but still present: the animation group holds different games, aerobics, very funny contests every evening (I personally haven’t laughed like that for a long time), once a week a show program with invited artists, and after the evening program everyone taken to a disco at Naama Bay (for a fee $ 15-30). We were at a beach disco, tickets were bought from an animator from Melia Sinai ($ 13, all drinks included). In addition, it’s nice to just walk along the embankment along the hotels, climb the lighthouse of the Melia Sinai hotel (we were allowed in without any problems), from there beautiful views open up, the wreckage of the sunken ship is clearly visible.
Summing up, to everyone who is just going on vacation, I want to say: if you are going to Egypt for the sake of the beautiful sea and its inhabitants, this hotel is perfect.
Separately, I want to thank the administrator for working with guests - Katya Davydova, for providing detailed information about the hotel, assistance in settling and, most importantly, for organizing a holiday for our child. If someone has any questions or problems, you can always count on her help (within her competence, of course : )
