After several trips to Egypt (and not only) and a long study of other people's reviews, we decided to share our little experience. Four times in different hotels - there is something to compare.
They wanted to go to this hotel since last year, it was just December, and they chose a hotel closer to the water and believing other people's assessments of the hotel's sea. Wrong. Then they came by taxi to swim over the reef from the Sensatori hotel and further to the Baron hotel and Melia Sharm. It seems to us the most beautiful and interesting here. So the beach "Tiran Island" (and the reef too) is a 15-minute walk along the beach. Almost the same, but the difference is very big. Although the Tirana beach is small and narrow, it is closed by the coast and the lighthouse of the Melia Sinai hotel from the almost constant north wind in the winter months, and a short pontoon (25 meters and 150 - there is a difference) will not let you freeze in the wind. But all this is only for winter (end of November - until April), when the wind on the beaches open from the north will force you to build entire fortresses from sunbeds, mattresses and towels, and in the sun you will just bask...
As almost everyone writes, the reef near the hotel's beach is good. It is peculiar in that, having jumped off the pontoon and sailed five meters below you, you see emptiness, that is, you see nothing, the sun's rays do not penetrate to such a depth to the bottom of the sea, and only air bubbles rising from scuba divers from the depth say that this is not Marianaskaya depression. Therefore, for those who are afraid of the depth, swim uncertainly or are simply tired, a cable will be stretched along the reef, which other hotels do not have. The coral is multi-colored and there are many fish. excursions on boats, and then it’s a little crowded to swim, and the fish are dispersed. Therefore, advice: come early to the beach and your sea.
A little about the hotel: the staff is normal, you smile, they smile at you. If you need something, you can explain yourself in Russian-English-sign language.
The infrastructure of the hotel is good. From access to the sea to the beach 500m, but it's nice to go down. You can also take a bus that runs almost all day.
The food is normal, you can always choose, there are no lobsters and black caviar, but this is a 4. The main thing is to sniff just in case, and do not overeat)))
I’ll say a separate word about the massage therapists. They are strong, a lot of oil in the skin, they really pulled up the whole body. True, the swimsuit was stretched, but for this you need to take underwear, which you can immediately remove and wash at home.
You can really get to Naama or Old Market or Soho by leaving the hotel (main entrance) and reaching the highway (10 min) by minibus if you have a man with you for 3-5 pounds. From the hotel they take you to Naama for 35 pounds. In Naama in our experience, the prices are higher than in Soho. But in Naama there is a supermarket near the building with the inscription "USSR". Food is cheaper there (we always take mangoes home for presents), spices, juices. There are also cotton products. Actually, we were no longer interested in anything other than bags. We bought a camera case for underwater shooting in Naama for 20 dollars. bargaining, and in Soho the same was declared 15 dollars. So how much could you buy it for? Bargain without being embarrassed to the limit. Get the money, and then leave and see what happens)))
The rooms are spacious enough, all the appliances worked, the safe works free of charge, there is no point in leaving a tip, the broom and mop are unfamiliar to them. Even the mountain of Moses from cigarette butts had to be asked to be removed.
