To begin with, we rested for a week in January 2010 (10-17) - the weather was beautiful, jackets and sweaters did not reach their suitcases. I tried my best to prepare for the rest on my own, so as not to tear my hair out later, shouting “ahh, why didn’t the manager warn me about this ! ! ! ". I studied the reviews for a month (thanks to everyone who is not too lazy to write about their vacation in detail) and decided that I want to join the Viking Club. Why? I will list the main points for those who do not want to read further: Italian cuisine, a quiet little hotel without animation, the main contingent is not Russian-speaking, an excellent beach, located in the very center of Naama. Looking ahead, I will say that all this turned out to be true.
Location and occupancy. The location of the hotel, if you are going to travel a lot on excursions, is definitely for you, because hardly anyone is delighted with an hour of driving to other people's hotels.
We were always the first to be brought home, and the last to be taken away, it really took 10 minutes from the airport. The flight was late and we ended up at the hotel at about 21:50 - 10 minutes before the end of dinner. In 3 minutes, they took our documents, put on bracelets and escorted us to the restaurant so that we could eat, and they let us do it calmly. When we returned after dinner at the reception, a boy was already waiting for us, who took the suitcase and escorted us to the room. During the check-out, there were no problems, despite the fact that in the middle of the rest microscopic towels-napkins were removed from us and they were not left anymore, no one asked about them.

Accommodation and cons. I’ll list the cons right away, because there were very few of them for us: the guide from Pegasus Manu (Manucher) is a cheeky boor who does not fulfill his duties.
People who really needed his advice had a hard time - he did not answer calls, was late or did not come to meetings at all, explaining this by the fact that “I didn’t leave after yesterday. ” Since we did not need it at all, on the very first day we gave a voucher, clearly sent with “buy excursions only from Pegasus ! ! ! ' and never met him again. The second negative point is the lamp switch, which quite shocked me because the plastic case was broken. We got a room, probably the worst - with a view of the fence, on the first floor of the distant building. But we did not try to change it, because the hotel only slept, and the bed (considering my sore spine) was very comfortable.
And another minus of the rooms is hellish audibility, every day I heard the alarm clock vibrating on the phone from the neighbors from above, so if you are a light sleeper and your neighbors are not used to restraining themselves, it will be hard. In general, most of the minuses here depend on the decency of the vacationers, if you come across pigs who at 3 o’clock in the morning yell with good obscenities, standing in the corridor, then I don’t think that other walls will help. And when the neighbors are not at home, it is really QUIET, no music and voices are heard. In addition, we found a plus in our accommodation - the pool, located immediately behind the building, was as if our own, it was very pleasant to relax there in the evening or in the afternoon after dinner - there was no one around.
Cleanliness and cleanliness on site. The floor, plumbing, linen and towels were clean, the cleaning boy, if he caught us at the entrance to the room, inquired in English if it was convenient for us to clean it now or later.

As a rule, cleaning was done in the morning when we were at sea. If there was a mess in the room, it remained safe (but I'm honestly not sure that I would be delighted that someone touched my clothes : =)), the bed was made, but without fanaticism and all kinds of towels animals despite the dollar; trash cans were emptied daily. We came across quite new beach towels, especially after the husband made friends with the Arab who gave them out - he got us daily towels “from under the floor”, the cleanest =) The territory is generally clean and green, waterings do not smell of anything.
Restaurant and food. The restaurant was clean, dirty dishes for the week we also did not come across. And the food - well, they write about it in all the reviews.
If you love Italian cuisine, you will have to swim very actively in the sea in order to return home at your normal weight, because the food is licking your fingers: vegetables, cheeses, pastas, desserts, meat (including on a spit) and a variety of snacks, bakery. The only “pity” was that there were few fruits, only in the mornings I had breakfast with a melon salad with pomegranate. In addition, no one said a word to us when, when we were going to leave for the day, we got a full package of food in the evening (packed rations are not provided in this hotel, so it’s customary to take food from the restaurant, if you have questions, say that you won’t be there tomorrow all day). Delicious bottled water was in abundance, you could take at lunch and dinner. In my opinion, a maximum of 2 bottles of 0.75 per person at a time, but we took 1 and it was enough for us. Drinks, as elsewhere in Egypt, a nightmare. It is impossible to drink tea, coffee, juices, "rum" too. I drank only water and sprite, my husband also took cola - the taste of soda is the most common.
Hotel staff and language. The staff is friendly and unobtrusive, if you show that you are ready to chat - they will be happy to support the conversation, if not - they will simply greet you at the meeting, wish you bon appetit, etc. , ask everyone if you like it and apologize if it seems to them that what something goes wrong (even if you didn't make a claim). Russian is spoken little and, to put it mildly, poorly, English is spoken by the majority and normally (we ourselves spoke only this language everywhere), but their main language is Italian. For example, I was shocked when I watched a fifteen-minute conversation between a bus driver and a tourist in pure Italian, while the driver knew only “tickets” and “welcome” in English.

I would like to wish everyone separately about the language - do not think that speaking Russian abroad is the top of your culture and everyone is simply obliged to answer you at the level of the philological faculty of Moscow State University, take a simple Russian-English phrase book with you, and even better - learn the basic words, In order not to stand like a ram, for 30 minutes above the card in horror, thinking what they want from you, and then with obscenities to put on the guide “that you are a bastard of a black man, you don’t give me a clean form for the third time! ". All the rudeness and anxiety that we met in the vastness of Egypt and Israel in a week came ONLY from Russians and Ukrainians, who did not even try to “understand” anything. Contrary to popular belief, it seemed to us that those tourists who speak English are treated much more attentively and kindly, not because someone does not like Russians (and there is something not to like them here), but also because that understand our language much better.
Entry along the pier made of stone slabs with railings and a ladder, we swam barefoot and did not get hurt, if you take special shoes, you can not wait until everyone decides to dive, but bypass right along the reef. The beach itself is clean sand, a lot of sunbeds and mattresses, umbrellas. There are tables. A very tasty Italian restaurant, and the prices do not bite at all - dishes from $ 4, delicious milkshakes, fruit plate, pizza, sandwiches. The menus are fixed on the legs of umbrellas, the waiters take the order, they bring you everything directly to the sea, but you can make and pay for the order if you go to the bartender yourself. On the beach there is a shower, toilet, massage, for children there is a wooden climbing frame. Well, there were always enough places, there was no flea market. And yet, many of our friends were surprised that various annoying merchants did not walk along the beach - they were not there at all, they carried the press, but they offered it to you once a day, the rest of the time they came up only if you call yourself.
Also with massage - on the first day of rest, the manager approached us, introduced himself, asked in which language it was more convenient to communicate, talked sweetly and unobtrusively for about 5 minutes about everything in a row, invited us to use their services, if we decide and EVERYTHING, he didn’t visit us for more than a week fit.
Outcome. If you are going to relax by the sea and the sun, you like silence and delicious food, you have a company and you are used to entertaining yourself, and a chic room and a plasma TV are the last thing you care about - the hotel is 100% suitable and worth the money. For the price that is now in the price lists for the summer (2-2.5 times higher than the winter one), I would not go to it, but again in the winter - by all means. And about children - you can go to Viking with a small child up to one and a half to two years old or up to the age when you think that he should spend all the time with you and without peers. If the child is older, then there will be nothing for him to have fun with.

Have a nice holiday!
