I was vacationing in Zouare in May 2012. I will try to describe without emotions, only some facts. I'll start with the good. A lot of greenery, original architecture, a complex of 3 storey buildings in the Bedouin style, spacious rooms, all amenities, cool and no air conditioning. There is no meat in the diet, but there is fish and liver. On the beach and by the pool in a sufficient number of sun loungers and umbrellas, enough for everyone. This is where the advantages end and the disadvantages begin. The hotel is located in the third coastline, very far from the sea. In the first line there are good 4 and 5 star hotels. In the second line, construction is a long-term construction. In the third this hotel. Beyond is the desert. Everything was good in the hotel in the past. People were taken to the beach by bus, fed and watered well, mosquitoes and flies were poisoned. All the problems began with the fact that the hotel was bought by a new, greedy owner. Now: they don’t take you to the beach, you have to walk (on the road 40-45 minutes, on a straight line, through the trash, through the construction site 25-30 minutes). Food in the restaurant is scarce, there is little fruit. The bar has good beer, but no wine at all. Strong alcohol of only one name. There is no hot water at all. Power outages. The jacuzzi in the pool does not work. The beach bar is closed, pool bar and pool bar are closed. Of the 4 bars in the hotel, only 1 is open at the reception. The beach is not cleaned, dirty. Sun loungers and umbrellas are not repaired, broken. Mosquitoes and flies do not poison. And there are a lot of them. Bring mosquito repellent with you from home. Repellents, ointments, fumigators, etc. Otherwise, you will not sleep at night. Local facilities in the store are of poor quality. I bought local mosquito coils. It's complete nonsense. Lots of smoke and no effect. To the nearest store 30-40 minutes on foot in the heat. The staff is rude, you have to wait a long time in the bar for service. The sea is shallow, knee-deep, good for children and those who cannot swim. There is sand in the sea, but you have to wear shoes. You can step on a star, a hedgehog, etc. Conclusion: If possible, take another hotel. Zouara can only be taken at a big discount. If the price is much cheaper than other hotels.
