We rested at the Cataract Resort 4 * from April 4 to April 14.2007. Contrary to our expectations, the holiday turned out great and the hotel made a very favorable impression. One of the main advantages is the location of the hotel: in the very center of Naama Bay, you go out and immediately find yourself in the midst of entertainment. It takes exactly 4 minutes to go to the beach and it’s convenient, you leave the gate of our hotel, walk 50 meters and go straight to the beach through the territory of the second Cataract hotel.
The beach is sandy, no special shoes are needed for swimming. Enough umbrellas, new sun loungers and mattresses, beach towels are issued every day at the hotel clean. The hotel itself is very clean, constantly washed and maintained. The pool is normal, but, honestly, you don’t need it at all when the sea is a stone’s throw away, clean, transparent, with beautiful fish. The rooms have everything you need for a comfortable stay: amenities, a TV with three Russian channels, air conditioning, a refrigerator, a balcony, (free safe at the reception).
The only thing and this is very important, you need to ask for a room overlooking the courtyard of the hotel, the rooms facing the street are noisy at night. The room is cleaned every day, linen was changed three times during the entire stay, towels - every day We rested on an all-inclusive basis. The food is very plentiful and varied, but for us a little unusual, everything is somehow fresh. Lots of vegetables, fruits, a very varied and tasty sweet table with pastries, various mousses and jellies. Alcohol can be drunk during lunch and dinner as much as you want. During the day in the bars on the beach and in the hotel any non-alcoholic drinks are free of charge.

All the staff are friendly and work very well, at least for the entire time of our stay there was not a single problem. How did you have fun? We are 50, so the lack of a disco and animation in the hotel did not bother us. We walked a lot, climbed the whole Naama Bay and its surroundings, went to the old city a couple of times (by minibus 2 pounds). But there is nothing special to buy there, the assortment is the same as in our resort towns and is the same everywhere: T-shirts, souvenirs, beach goods. The shop sellers are very annoying, everyone speaks Russian, but it's better not to pay attention to them. They do not manage to bargain very much, they have enough buyers. In general, it is much more pleasant to go to supermarkets, there are four of them in Naama, no one sticks there, you can safely see everything, and the prices there are lower and are already written on each product.
Yes, some exchange offices change our rubles to Egyptian pounds, very convenient (1000 rubles -170 pounds). For comparison, a bottle of water is 2 pounds (that is, about our 12 rubles). From excursions we went to Cairo and to the pyramids and to the entertainment center "1000 and 1 Night". We took an excursion to Cairo at the hotel from the Pegasus guide, at first they were upset that it was $ 20 more expensive than what they sell on the street, but in vain. Because the tour was just super: a great bus, an amazing guide in Cairo - a professor at Cairo University. And of course a great impression of the pyramids, the sphinx and the national museum. Worth a 6 hour drive to see it for yourself. But dinner, light show and belly dance in "1000 and 1 night" - garbage and money thrown away.
BUT the main thing is to swim more and snorkel, there are small reefs on our beach, but it’s better to walk a little along the shore to the Hilton beach, there are a lot of reefs with corals and fish. And if you feed the fish a little more, they come out in flocks of completely different colors and sizes. We saw both an octopus and a stingray. In general, the impressions from the rest were the mass and the best. As for the hotel, it is ideal for a relaxing family holiday without any special claims, especially since it has the lowest price out of 4 *. Happy rest!
