I chose a hotel, protected from the north wind, with a beautiful reef and territory, not far from the center. A week before departure, flight prices soared, so I had to choose a budget option.
The territory of the hotel, architecture and interiors are beautiful, the hotel is inhabited by about 10%. Upon arrival at the reception, they offered to pay $ 20 for a good room - otherwise they threatened to settle on the opposite side of the main building. I knew that only rooms on the sea side were occupied, but I agreed to pay extra for a good room with a good view. The room that they gave us, at first glance, was not bad, although far from the sea. But then it turned out that nothing was working in the room: the TV did not turn on (they replaced the batteries in the pulma and plugged the plug), the air conditioner did not turn off from the remote (the repairman fiddled around for an hour, changed the remotes and the control unit - but never fixed it, it’s good that my growth allowed me to somehow reach the button on the air conditioner), the refrigerator does not work (replaced), the safe is closed with an unknown code (opened), only one of the three lamps in the hallway works, the light does not work on the balcony (tired of communicating with the repairman, waved his hand) . Then it turned out that they didn’t clean the bathroom - dirt and hair (the cleaner came, rinsed it out of the shower), curtains in sticky black spots - asked to be replaced - they weren’t replaced. But we were able to really appreciate the room only in the evening - when the pleasant calm music on the site near the bar was replaced first by loud children's music, and then by some deafening trash - it turned out to be almost impossible to sleep under it, until 23:00 we felt like in a music box. And this is the room for which they took a surcharge!?
The reef was also disappointing at first - near the pontoon and to the left of it, it is almost dead, there are few fish. But then I swam to the right, to the pier of the Hyatt hotel - it is much better there, the lively multi-colored reef begins already 30 meters from the pontoon, the farther to Hyatt - the more beautiful. The number of fish varied greatly from swim to swim - apparently, they often swim above the reef, and they are not visible from the reef wall. Grisha the size of a wild boar tickled my nerves when he suddenly swam out from around the corner and swam a meter below me. And also a one and a half meter tuna, swimming very quickly at a depth of 30 meters, which I first mistook for a shark. In general, the reef turned out to be quite good.

The food was very disappointing - they give little meat, when you ask for it - they give it with displeasure, muttering something under their breath in Arabic. Constant queues for 10. . . 30 people for meat, potatoes, scrambled eggs and pancakes, each time I had to stand in them for 10. . 25 minutes. Half of the salads are with inedible soy sausage. Simple vegetables are quickly taken apart - you need to plan a trip to the dining room to catch the entire assortment. Often side dishes are spicy. Once we had a barbecue for dinner - we had to stand for two kebabs measuring 1.5x4 cm for half an hour, they didn’t give us any more. In bars, food is only buns with inedible soy sausage or spicy cheese. Alcohol is bad. Juices - with a disgusting aftertaste, it seems to be diluted with bad water.
The guide from Anekstur Mustafa Ali deceived us - for 20 minutes he painted the exclusivity of snorkeling in the bays of the Ras Mohammed reserve - and in the end it turned out already on the ship that we were being taken to the island of Tiran, where there was nothing to see. He painted a trip to Cairo with a visit to the largest mosque in the world and Tahrir Square, as well as the papyrus museum - as a result, we were not taken to the mosque and the square at all, and the museum turned out to be an ordinary store. As a result, we walked in the Cairo Museum and near the pyramids for only 3.5 hours of the 23-hour trip, but we stood for an hour on the way back, waiting for the convoy to be collected. But, it seems, they didn’t wait - for most of the way back we didn’t have a pickup truck with machine gunners in front of us.
Getting anywhere from the hotel turned out to be a difficult task - the lighting on the 200-meter section of the road near the hotel turned out to be turned off, walking 800 meters to the highway was dumb. And the taxi drivers outside the gate wanted $10 for the trip to Naama Bay and back. Having received a refusal, they continued to bargain, following us for 5 minutes, until they finally agreed to the $ 2 one way offered by me at once. But the taxi driver did not fulfill the agreement, dropping us off 200 meters from the goal, when he noticed the client in the opposite direction. We drove back for $ 2 without problems and bargaining.
There is no pharmacy, grocery store, liquor store within walking distance from the hotel. They sell only fruits, juices, chips, oils, souvenirs, snorkeling equipment.
