This hotel is full of terrible reviews, and without photos, so I decided to take a chance and go and check it out myself. I really wanted to try both in winter in Naama Bay without large investments in fives.
I looked at the video reports, mostly uninformative and uninteresting, but made a few conclusions. First, the hotel is small. The second is a hotel on a rock and you will need to move the rolls in order to go down to Naama Bay in a short way along the stairs (well, and especially go up). By the way, the presence of the Naama Bay promenade nearby was the third important point. The place turned out to be very good.
The views from the hotel to the sea, Tiran Island and Naama Bay are magnificent. This distinguishes Halomi from other hotels in the area. And people from other hotels in the bay repeatedly tried to enter our beach. Some succeeded and they said that we have more interesting and beautiful views, more fish and corals.

BEACH. Well, since I started from the beach, I will continue. It has terraces, like many charm hotels. Without palm trees, true desert. The path is not very comfortable, made of crooked stones and not very picturesque. Although because of the rock heaps, you can see the sea with yachts, but it is better to look under your feet. Although there are benches, you can sit and relax at the top of the path. Further steeper and crooked steps.
There are no amenities on the beach. The toilet is upstairs near the restaurant and a small supermarket. The female one, of course, does not close and the water almost does not flow in it (constant congestion, so I used the male one). Next to the bar opposite, there is also a toilet, but it is almost always closed.
Shower (in the form of oak without branches) is also only near the pool and another one on the second terrace of the beach. And the ladder between the second and third terraces by the sea is the steepest. Running back and forth is uncomfortable. By the way, you can't run to the bar. Although, the beer at the pool bar is only paid, and the bar by the pier has water. In general, for people with disabilities, the elderly and children will be uncomfortable. The beach is always full during the day (as it turned out, people from other beaches too), but I took places before breakfast and did not know any problems. The beds are tired and a lot of broken ones, but I occupied the whole and a place overlooking the bay. It was wonderful to eat strawberries and look at Naama and the sea.
The pier is short. Quite comfortable overall. I was able to put on fins while sitting on the stairs. The sea at the pier is shallow and you can get out of the sea with amenities. Although, one dude jumped from the pier and did not calculate that there were low tides, that the bottom was not far away and coral was nearby, then he walked with his head bandaged.

Coral slippers are a must. Although tourists have trampled on the coral near the pier, it is dead but still sharp. There were many people with cuts. The children did not even want to go into the sea after the injuries. From the conversations, I realized that the upset parents were going to go to the paid sandy beaches of Naama Bay so that the children could swim in the sea without injury. In general, going down to the sea in Halomi is for healthy snorkelers, not for children. Grandparents will also be uncomfortable and hard. And the pool is windy and cold, so I don’t understand what to do with it.
The sea is great here. Since it is not deep, the water is warm and many fish are basking here and are not even shy and do not swim away like in other hotels, they can be well considered. Koralchik for a C grade with a plus, but there are a lot of fish. Most of all Arabian surgeons. There are fewer Abudevduffs, a lot of schooling fish, a lot of parrots, scars, triggerfish, butterflies, angels and other things. A teneura lima stingray sailed, saw a young Napoleon and a moray eel. People showed a video with a large eagle ray. In general, I am satisfied, the only sad thing is that I did not take an underwater camera. I swam with a mask to the point of complete exhaustion.
RESTAURANT. They write that it is scarce, but you will not die of hunger. I can only confirm this. I took photos of the food to understand what the menu is in Halomi. Meat and fish are given in really small portions. Cabbage salads, which are very thickly cut, and there is no dressing. Separately, tomatoes and cucumbers are not served (they are in salads). For me personally, it was a big disappointment that there was no grated carrot, which is very good for tanning. Then, I found chopped carrots in stewed vegetables, and that was the way out. Breakfast was fried scrambled eggs and pancakes. Only this way: no fried eggs, no boiled eggs, no additions to the omelet. Everything is modest. And long queues for scrambled eggs and pancakes. People came to breakfast at ten minutes to seven. To get in line faster. By the way, we had a late check-out, but no one bothered us to have lunch (the bracelets were not cut off), although we missed our lunch on the first day... well, in general, we did not go hungry.
Well, I don’t know what you eat for breakfast, but I was quite happy with what they offered: scrambled eggs, salad, puree (or porridge), pancake with honey, cottage cheese (like feta), cheese, chopped sausages, eggplant. For lunch there was also soup, or rather broth with something. I liked drinking it from glasses. So came up with tourists when there were not enough tureens. Very comfortably. In general, they didn’t really starve (as I had in one top five). Look at the photos and you will understand that the food is there.

In general, there are a lot of restaurants near Naama Bay, you can always break away and overeat, and you will also be wrapped up with you.
WATER. Yes, you can collect in the dining room in a bottle. The hotel does not provide bottles. This is not convenient for me, and the water in the restaurant was not tasty. There is a supermarket next to the restaurant and large bottles and bottles of water are sold for modest money. In extreme cases, downstairs not far from the hotel (behind Marina Sharm) there is a Fix Price store (fixed prices) and there is a lot of everything, including water and other drinks in different containers. Nearby is also a shop with alcohol and other drinks. So everything can be solved, although dragging a can of water up the stairs is not very convenient.
NUMBERS. Well, everyone is different, I rented 4 options for rooms. But they are all equally old. It's a three, not a five. I think you should not throw scandals and tantrums, because the number for which you pay extra will not be better, there will be a glitch. I took the first one that was offered, but checked: that water flowed, the toilet was flushed, the door was closed, the TV and the safe were working. I didn't check the air conditioner this time. Cold winter in Egypt. Everything worked out for me, I just sleep there. I fed the cleaner with chocolates and dollar baths, so there were no problems with towels (changed once, I didn’t change others), there was no toilet paper. As advised, I took construction tape, glued the cord from the lamp so that it would not stagger and it would not turn off. The sockets are bad, both in the room and at the reception, keep this in mind, take batteries to charge just in case. Another life hack is to use a bottle to warm the bed this winter. The British put a heating pad with hot water in their bed, I also made myself a heating pad from a half-liter bottle, poured boiling water from the tap. Yes, I had boiling water, and I'm glad about it, because others are picky that they changed rooms for scanadl and / or surcharge for "better" hot water ended. And there is nothing to swear with the staff and be capricious, they will still “make you” if you are an unpleasant person. Yes, visually the number may be better, but there may be a hidden defect (for example, lack of hot water).
My standard standard 310 did not upset me.

There was a small problem with drying clothes. All hotel guests. A rope is stretched in the bathroom, but for some reason everything did not dry well. Perhaps it was I who stepped and did not open the window in the bathroom. But, I had 4 bathing suits, so I changed them while the others dried. Drying towels on the beach. In principle, it was possible to change the beach towel daily (at the restaurant). Of course, they are all of different colors and of different quality, but they suited me.
By the way, I didn’t notice that the bed in the room was dirty, just old linen, thin and yellowish. Some of them dragged bed linen and towels with them, some of them also heated sheets (this is probably normal this winter), but I got by with what the hotel offered.
I do not have obsessive mental states about the need for sterile cleaning with domestos and other chemicals, I am aware of where I am going and for how much, so I have no complaints about cleanliness. It was even funny that when she caught the cleaner in my room cleaning, he moved the bed to wash it. It would be fine for me just to wipe the floor, including in the bathroom, because I never got used to how to deal with the shower there. Spilled water all the time. The plumbing is a bit old, apparently somewhere it still leaked, but I didn’t pay attention, everything was cleaned dry for me.
The whims complained about their cleaners, who did not show up for several days. And if they did, they would squirt out of the bottle onto the floor and carry the “moisture” with a mop. Their lamentations about how to clean, and how they clean in Egypt (especially in a three-ruble note), caused me bouts of Homeric laughter. I still understand in the top five, but a modest three-ruble note...
And yet, two important things about the room: the hair dryer was and worked. And the safe was in the room for free and worked - it was opened with a key, not a code, I liked that.
Well, what else to tell you? About the bar? Many write that it is paid. This is not true. Rather, not quite so. Tea, coffee, romkola are served free of charge. There is no draft beer, only paid bottled beer. In general, part of the range is free, part is paid. Better of course, bring something tasty with you. Well, it didn't matter to me. In short, there was something, the rest can be bought nearby in Naama.

Animation. Well, it kind of didn’t exist (and that’s good for me). Ali and Dasha, a married couple who came here due to family circumstances. Ali previously worked at the Gafi Hotel and, out of habit, tried to somehow amuse everyone, but no one needs this. He organized music both on the beach and near the restaurant. By the way, I liked his playlist. But, I have my own music - the silence of the sea, I don't need anything. The ball was bought, but it was not possible to assemble a volleyball team. Unfortunately, there was no bocci game, and on the second terrace there is just a place for this game (there are almost no sunbeds). There were a couple of times evening noises, probably a local disco at the bar, but I was not. In reality, she is not needed here, at four in the morning planes are already flying, there is no time to sleep. But, if you need it, Naama Bay is full of entertainment, including Pasha clubs, Little Buddha, Hard Rock Cafe and others, hookah, dance... Everything is nearby and I'm just bastard from it. Evening walks along Naama Bay greatly diversified leisure time in the evenings, and it was also useful for tone.
What to bring (as a tip): binoculars to take in the views. Construction tape or other adhesive tape (and wind the bag and stick something in the room, if necessary). By the way, I didn’t remove the film from the bag, but carefully cut it lengthwise, and then glued everything back with adhesive tape when I left. In Boryspil, wrap a bag for 170 hryvnias, and weigh 20 hryvnias. I don't want to feed the parasites (film and tape will be cheaper). Be sure to take a few bathing suits, and, in general, clothes to change, as it is inconvenient to dry things here (well, only if you are on the 2nd floor). Then grab a drying rope for the balcony. Be sure to take warm pajamas or a warm tracksuit in winter (now such scary, large ones with hoods are just in fashion, the very thing for Egypt in winter). It is really cold in the evening, and sometimes it blows strongly during the day (the hotel is on a rock, it is well blown). Personally, I also took a dutik vest with a hood instead of a jacket (light and not blown). I rode in it under a demi-season jacket so as not to take up space in my suitcase. I sometimes sat in it on the beach or put it on a sweatshirt in the evening. In general, do not relax if you are advised not to take warm clothes to Egypt in winter, do not listen to anyone, take it and you will not regret it. Otherwise you will buy in Egypt. Although they have good cotton, warm thick hoodies are also wonderful. Large towels are also lovely. In general, there are always options to solve some everyday problems. Don't forget the chocolates. You can take coffee with you, since in the restaurant it’s not coffee, but a specific one purchased from them, we don’t really like it (arabica without robusta is not quite what we need). By the way, you can still take a cup for drinks, travel folding with a lid. It is convenient to brew coffee and the bartender pours romkola there without any problems.
Note. If you go to Halomi in the next 2 months, grab some of our food (well, I don’t know, black bread with salk or sausage, sour winter apples or something else) for Dasha’s animator. She is pregnant and misses our food very much. Had I known, they would have brought her something. But there were only apples.
Conclusions. I like it. Will I come a second time? Yes, easily. And even with pleasure. But, if your weight is less than 60 kilograms, I advise you not to go here (and indeed to Egypt) in winter, you will freeze, you will not be able to swim normally. This also applies to children - they will not be comfortable here. And for healthy adults who are in love with the sea and without royal requests, the hotel is quite suitable.
