We rested with the whole family, in Egypt for the 3rd time. I'll start with the merits. First: the hotel is just perfectly located relative to the sea. A cape passes through the center of the beach, resulting in 2 zones: on the one hand - a large sandy beach and a beautiful, quiet area for swimming, on the other - an area for surfing and water sports with waves and wind. Those who love to swim in the sea will have great fun! The beach is especially good for children, because. the depth does not start immediately, a large gentle area, and small children can swim safely enough. The water is clean, transparent, there are no marine reptiles. The second advantage, in our opinion: good conditions for those who like not just to sunbathe, but to play sports and outdoor activities. In the morning you can run along the beach to the neighboring hotel (nice and safe), excellent surfing, a good fitness center and spa and good animation programs. The animation team consisted of cute Ukrainian girls and funny African guys, group classes from morning to evening: stretching, yoga, water aerobics, step, belly dancing. In the evening, a nice disco for small children, the children are just delighted. Separately - a disco for adults (we didn't go there, so I can't say anything). The third advantage is a good territory, beautiful landscape design, nice lighting in the evening. The hotel lobby impresses with its kitsch-style interior - a mixture of different eras and styles, but a lot of gilding, wood, paintings and tapestries, panoramic elevators in the atrium. What is called - "rich". But in general it's pretty nice... The rooms are clean, nice interior, well equipped.
Now for the disadvantages. There are many of them, unfortunately. Demanding people, those who are used to staying in really good 5-star hotels, will notice them right away. a) The hotel is not very well designed. There are rooms that are located directly above the restaurants, the noise and clinking of dishes from morning to evening. There are also many rooms that are called "sea view" and really overlook the sea, but just on the surf area, and not on the beach. Those. you see a strip of sea in front of you, and the rest is a piece of desert, service buildings and a hotel service driveway. The staff is constantly doing something there, very noisy. The locks on the doors of the rooms are such that the doors slam shut with a terrible noise, and the soundproofing in the rooms is not very good. The beds are hard, the pillows are very small, not otherwise than for yoga lovers. b) Lazy staff. At breakfast-lunch-dinner you have to ask several times to bring water and tea. There are several a la carte restaurants, we don’t recommend going there: you’ll have to wait, oh, a very long time, until the dishes are brought, the waiters can forget about you at all... Shampoo, soap and cream are chronically not put in the rooms until you demand it. C) A rather complicated all-inclusive system: a bunch of petty conditions and restrictions aimed at the fact that tourists will get confused and take something “for money”. The Tez tour representative warned us to be careful. And then we saw people at the reception who came to complain and were very surprised by the state of their account. Compared to other countries (for example, the Dominican Republic), the all inclusive system in this hotel is strange. D) There is a very beautiful pool on the territory of the hotel - with grottoes, a waterfall, etc. , but the water in it is very cold, few people swam. D) Not very good food. Other tourists have already written about the buffet, I will add that there is a lot of water in soups, and Lebanese and Italian cuisine in restaurants are not very similar to these cuisines...
The general impression is that despite the shortcomings, the advantages of the sea outweigh. In general, the rest was good. But if the other hotels where we were, we can rate 5, then Intercontinental Abu Soma - 4 with a minus.
