Getting off at the metro station Urquinaona, which is 2 steps from Placa Catalynya, we used the Laietana street, which is parallel to the Rambla, to get to the museum. On the way we saw the majestic Palau de la Musica Catalana. Entrance there costs about 15 euros, but it is open only until 17 hours.

Following this street further you will meet the Museu Frederic Mares and the Museu de Historia de la Ciutat (not to be confused with the Museu Historia de Catalunya, a little further on in Barceloneta), both near Placa del Rei.

Winding the streets of the Gothic quarter, we still came to the museum of an extravagant artist. The museum is located in a medieval castle and is hidden from the noise of the streets. This is the only museum created during Picasso's lifetime, where he and his friend Jaume Sabartes donated a lot of paintings from their collection. In addition, here you can find ceramic works by Picasso, with which he warmed up in the 50s and 60s. Picasso himself decided to leave traces of his work in Barcelona.

The museum contains all the key works of the artist, which can trace the period of his development, from his young years spent in Malaga, his travels to Paris and visits to Barcelona.

The works are ambiguous, and, for me, as with any creative person, they range from simply amazing to quite ordinary.

The museum is located on 2 floors and can safely delay you for 2 hours. The main key moments of his life are written on the walls in Spanish and English, but the audio guide here is quite informative (there is also in Russian). The audio guide is made in the form of a bulky mobile phone, so using it together, although not very convenient, is possible.

It is strictly forbidden to take pictures in the museum, so we were content with pictures of a couple of reproductions, which, if you are not afraid to be crushed on an airplane, can be purchased for quite reasonable money.

Entrance costs 11 euros, and 3 euros for an audio guide.

There is a left-luggage office and, of course, a souvenir shop.

Worth mentioning is the Articket BCN combo ticket (articketbcn. org), which allows you to visit 7 museums for 30 euros. It includes such obligatory objects as Museo Picasso, La Pedrera, MNAC and 4 more museums of not the last magnitude, although not from the obligatory program. When calculating these 3 museums 11+16.50+10=37.50, you immediately save 7.50. Therefore, if you are here for a couple of days and have not purchased the Barcelona Card or Bus Touristic, then I recommend purchasing it. In addition to these museums, visit Montjuc, Tibidabo and Parc Gü ell and consider the "must-see" program done.
