The mountain that warmed the medieval castle of Montjuic, the Olympic stadium, the botanical garden and the royal palace with the best art gallery, according to visitor reviews (MNAC). Magic fountains, a Spanish village and the Caixa Forum nestled at its foot.

No wonder it is called the lungs of the city. The mountain is planted with green parks, along which wonderful ornate paths pass. If it were not for the busy schedule, we would be happy to walk here for a couple of hours.

If you have not purchased tickets for the tourist bus, then city buses go to the mountain, and there is also a funicular from the Parallel metro station. But this is only half way. Further uphill, to the castle, you can climb only either by cable car, or on foot, or by car.

The Teleferic de Montjuic cable car will take you to the castle in 10 minutes. It operates from 10 am to 9 pm. You can buy a ticket there (6.80) or round trip (9.60).

In some tourist cards bought for 1 euro at the tour desk, there is a 3 euro discount for this road, when traveling back and forth. The walk is interesting, but nothing spectacular. But the castle offers a wonderful view of the city itself and the port area.

By the way, if you walk one stop from the Teleferic boarding station in the direction of the bus, then you will get to the station of another cable car, which already flies quite high above the port and lands in the Barceloneta area. The spirit here will capture more, but you will also have to pay more.

The castle at the top is very photogenic and conducive to romantic walks with wonderful views from above. Admission is free and there is a cafe and, of course, toilets.
