Stayed with a friend at the end of September. Usually in Spain this time is still a season, but the summer of 2010 turned out to be somehow not very hot and the September days pleased with the sun only half a day with partly cloudy.
Briefly about the main:
Blanes is a great small town and you need to go there either with your family or with a self-sufficient company (party holidays for "golden" youth are offered by neighboring resorts)
Blaumar is a wonderful hotel for a relaxing family holiday, where, however, you can spend a good time together. The staff is friendly and many of our compatriots - so there are no problems with understanding at all. The food is varied and what is especially nice with good breakfasts, a lot of seasonal fruits (this is not Turkey for you, where only watermelons are at this time)

The sea is within easy reach (3 minutes) and you can see beautiful sunsets and sunrises: windows in the entire wall to the floor. The side overlooking the sea is generally wonderful - at the bottom there is something like cottages or a private sector with dense greenery and flowers.
The hotel in the off season is more crowded with older people or couples with very young children.
It takes about 80 minutes to get to Barcelona by train and all along the sea - so we rode every time there was no weather for a beach holiday. The hotel also organizes bus trips (then go faster) to football matches, excursions - there is always information about the upcoming at the reception.
The only thing that bothered me personally was the lack of sunbeds on the beach. All over the Costa Brava, people just take their mats and lie on the sand. At first I was unpleasantly surprised, and then even got high: because the sand in Blanes is somehow special - after it, the legs turn bronze due to microparticles, which can only be washed off in the shower with a washcloth.
