Hotel for undemanding tourists

Written: 17 april 2007
Travel time: 18 — 25 september 2005
Who does the author recommend the hotel to?: For families with children; For recreation with friends, for young people
I’ll make a reservation right away, we liked the rest here, although my girlfriend and I do not at all classify ourselves as those who don’t care where to sleep, what to eat, and in what conditions to live... Say, in pioneer childhood and Komsomol youth, tourism consisted of tents and bonfires, which means that any hotel, and even more so abroad, is an earthly paradise... No!
They looked at everything carefully, but with scrupulous care did not look for dust particles on the TV screen in the room or under the bed... As for the cleanliness of the bathroom, fresh towels and sheets, ventilation - everything was on the level here. But it cannot be otherwise in Europe. Even from such difficult sanitary countries as Egypt, Morocco, Turkey have already learned to clearly observe the basic hygiene rules for guests.
But let's talk about everything in order. . . We arrived in Barcelona on the 3rd of September, reached the hotel not without incident (difficulties arose solely because of the host, I don't remember, sorry, after almost 2 years what they were called. . . But quite perhaps these guys still work with "Coral") Checked into the hotel. . . What can I say about the guests: there are a lot of Germans and French, few Russians, but there are Ukrainians - you recognize them by their incomparable accent, and even more fearful looks of people who are abroad for the first time, or rudeness, with which they equally cover the aforementioned fearfulness, because in the episodes the already familiar expression of persecution falls on the faces of our Slavic brothers... We tried not to intersect with them so as not to answer numerous questions . Well, God be with them, with crests...

We had to stand in a short queue at the reception, but it doesn’t matter... Our room was on the third floor - quite small compared to, say, Egypt, but clean, comfortable, the balcony overlooks the street and the adjacent Indalo Park hotel. There is a TV in the room, a huge mirror wardrobe, where we easily fit all our suitcases, and later purchases, a bath. The foyer is decorated in Arabic style, but the design execution showed that the last time the interior of the hotel was updated somewhere in the late 90s. No! Nowhere was touched up, greased and wiped... Nothing looked shabby and faded, just the style of furniture and interior decoration of the late 90s.
The hotel consists of 2 buildings, quite large. And this, as the first evening showed, caused a certain difficulty! The fact is that the restaurant in the basement of the hotel is small and its capacity, accordingly, does not correspond to the number of guests. In general, every day in the evening I had to defend a decent queue to the restaurant... There were days when people stood on the stairs and even in the foyer of the 1st floor...
There were no such problems with breakfast - apparently, the Germans and French, who had a good walk the day before in coastal cafes, slept in their rooms in the morning. For us, people who came from Siberia, that is, from completely different time zones, getting up early was not difficult. As it turned out, we turned out to be very active tourists. . . We didn’t sit at the hotel during the day - at best, on the beach. . . And then the weather turned bad, even a tornado passed, a storm rose on the sea, and every day we dangled to Barcelona, studied its old Gothic quarter, admired the creations of Gaudi and even visited the Cam Nou stadium, where the famous Barcelona plays (I still regret that I didn’t get to the match - the great Catalan club played that day in Seville).
Then there was a trip to France, and then... then I had to go home... It's a pity! Another two weeks with pleasure. What else to say about the advantages of the hotel "Alhambra" ?? ? Safe - on the ground floor next to the reception. There are two attitudes towards this. It seems inconvenient when you are going for adventures in the morning - you have to go down, then up again... However, we are addicted to picking up everything we need either at the exit or at the entrance the night before. It also turned out that it is very convenient when you buy something near the hotel, suddenly there is not enough money - you don’t have to run upstairs, go in, take it and go out...

So decide for yourself - for us it was not a problem. It is very important that the key stop of all sightseeing buses heading to Andorra, France, Barcelona is located near this hotel... Nice! Especially when leaving early in the morning - you can sleep longer, while tourists from other hotels had to walk early in the morning, or even run, if you overslept, to strive for the Alhambra.
Sea. To get to the beach, you need to cross the railway tracks, on which electric trains from Blanes to Barcelona and back run every half an hour. Once again nice! Because the underpass is just opposite the Alhambra. Walking to the sea for about 5 minutes, that is, 200 meters. And it / walking / does not bother... But the stop of these very electric trains is far from the hotel - 10 minutes of a quick step or 15 minutes of measured walking. The noise of the trains does not interfere with rest at all, for some reason it is not audible... Are they magical or what?
For lovers of fun: the hotel is the most popular disco in the town of Santa Susanna - there is always noisy and fun! There is no desire to move - you can sit in a cafe and listen to incendiary Spanish songs, look at the magnificent performance of Catalan dances - the animators work in good faith... And listening and watching is a pleasure! And if at this moment you are sipping traditional Sangria (this is not at all what was in our shops and stalls a few years ago), then you completely merge with the local color - and it seems that the stars shine brighter here, that the breeze from the sea is gentler, than at home, in the native Siberian steppes, the wind exciting the feather grass... that people here are more smiling, more friendly and welcoming (It's true, no matter how much you tell yourself in the morning that these smiles eventually cost your wallet a certain, and considerable amount of euros ).
The food is quite decent and varied - a lot of different fruits - I traditionally pressed on peaches - I really love them - there were three types of them. A friend on melons, pears and watermelons. There were seafood twice a week (I don’t count fish - usually it was every day), and all sorts of stewed cuttlefish, squid, clams. To be honest, the set menu was practically not inferior to food and 5 stars in Egypt (but it lost significantly in terms of the number of pastries and volumes. And it is unlikely that in Europe you will find such omelet virtuosos as the Arabs and Turks. Whoever was will understand what am I talking about. . . )

The staff is polite and patient, even to those we were - who did not know a single European language (SHAME! ) But a couple of phrases snatched from a Russian-Spanish phrasebook saved us. However, who knows, maybe now Russian-speaking employees have already appeared in the hotel... So let those who decide to have an inexpensive vacation in Spain - do not pay attention to the reviews of tourists, instead of an interesting country, meticulously exploring the cons of the service. Believe me, these people are doing everything possible to ensure that the rest is complete and that there is no feeling of bitterness from wasted time and money. Probably even most likely. there are better and more comfortable hotels, where they will lick you and kiss you in the ass... It's up to you to decide - to relax or substitute your ass!!!!! !
