We rested at the Best Da Vinchi Royal Hotel from June 11 to June 26.2011. We were satisfied with the hotel.
The sympathetic attitude of the staff to our wishes (maps of neighboring cities, etc. ) made a good impression. About the middle of our stay at the hotel, Russian-speaking employees appeared at the reception and in the dining room.
And now specifically about the pros.

1. The location of the hotel is super. I think you won’t find another opinion on the Internet, because going to the beach is really close: ten steps away from the hotel doors and the sea is a hundred meters ahead. The hotel is located approximately at the level of the middle of Playa de Llevante beach, which is important - there is enough space for everyone, there is no crowding (! ). In terms of noise, the street on which the hotel is located is quite calm, there are no bars or discos nearby. On the way to the beach there is a bus station from which you can go anywhere: to Barcelona for a walk, to Reus for shopping, to Tarragona, Sitges, Cambrils and so on. By the way, it’s better to walk to Cambrils – the chic Jaume I boulevard simply turns into the embankment – and if a couple of kilometers of road doesn’t scare you, then you can walk to the neighboring city of Cambrils and understand how much it loses compared to Salou.
2. The food is good, without any special show-offs (mussels and shrimp were only a couple of times in two weeks), but there is always fried, baked or boiled fish, several options, several types of meat, and most importantly, a couple of types of meat and fish carcasses the chef fries right in front of you on a special stove! Delicious. All sorts of spices and so on and so forth - in large quantities. There is always paella in a huge pan, there are a lot of side dishes, especially lasagna, pasta and baked potatoes. There is also a separate table with national dishes: I recommend vegetable pies, lamb meatballs, etc. They always had pastries in the mornings, and in the evenings cakes, catalan creams, ice cream and a lot of fruits - both in the morning and in the evening. In general, if you like to eat - go to this hotel boldly - you can't go wrong! And if you want to try something specific national - then there are plenty of restaurants on the street where the hotel is located.
3. Room service is at a good level, everything is clean, tidy, if sand has spilled out from the beach towels on the balcony, they clean it, towels are changed often, though soap and shower gels are given out limitedly. The furniture is normal, not old, what is called the kitchen - a stove and a couple of cabinets above it, a sink. I want to note that there are no coffee makers, much less kettles in this “kitchen”. But there are knives, forks, cups, glasses, several types of plates and a corkscrew. The safe in the room is paid, you need to rent a key at the reception, for 2 weeks we got 45 euros. The only downside in my opinion is the lack of a full-length mirror. That is, after shopping in Reus, you won’t be able to see how a new skirt or shorts fit if you are short.
4. With entertainment in the sense of animation, the Spaniards are tight, during our stay there was most often children's animation, some games for Spanish pop music. In terms of listening to their songs - quite, but watching, of course, is not interesting. Several times they organized noisy parties with karaoke, large screens on which clips were shown, and so on. In general, it seemed that they tried very hard to entertain people, and indeed, everything was nice and pleasant, especially after a day at the beach. By the way, if your windows overlook the pool, you will have to at least listen to the animation in any case - even with the balcony tightly closed, it is loud enough. But all the music is turned off at about 11:45 pm, so if you are not a fan of falling asleep at 10 pm, you don’t have to worry about this issue at all.

5. The city of Salou is just great! To the left of the hotel entrance, through a couple of street intersections with souvenirs and things, in front of the hotel in front of the beach, Haume I Boulevard, all streets are perpendicular, it’s hard to get lost. There are a lot of illuminated fountains on the embankment, sometimes there is even a mini-show of fountains like in Barcelona, but using a laser.
I didn't see any major downsides to the hotel. It happened that they asked to pay for drinks at dinner immediately after they brought them - so do not forget your wallet for dinner. Sometimes the soap was not reported to us when it was over.
Well, I think these are all trifles compared to what you will: a) walk close to the beach; b) close to buses (to the train is also close); c) clean and pleasant in the room (plus a large balcony with thick partitions between the rooms); d) tasty and varied food.
So I recommend this hotel to those who want to have a nice and good holiday in Spain.
