Rested with a friend in the period from June 12-23.2011. We stayed at the Barcelo Ponent Playa*** hotel.
The beach is clean but very crowded.
The hotel staff is friendly, helpful and attentive. A woman (apparently Thai) works on the territory, excellently doing massage (50-60 euros). The territory is small, well-groomed, but rather shady places.
The food was very delicious. Several types of meat, fish, seafood were offered daily. Fruits - apples, bananas, kiwi, pears, watermelons, melons, pineapples, oranges. Vegetables - this year there were no cucumbers, but delicious olives and black olives, peppers, tomatoes were offered. Excellent pastries. Vacationers said that for 3 stars, and indeed for Europe, the food is simply gorgeous.
Lots of vacationers from all over the world. Mostly English speaking countries. There were very few Russians. At the beginning of our holiday, apparently, there was a check-in of pensioners and the disabled, but after a week this contingent dispersed.

Animation probably corresponds to the level of 3 *. 2 times a week water aerobics, stretching, yoga, dancing. There was something for men too. In the evening there were competitions, karaoke, bingo, live music, occasionally - invited artists (probably once a week). The children really liked the lady animator from Bulgaria, who spoke Russian. In general, for children within walking distance there are 2 small playgrounds.
This hotel is suitable for a relaxing family holiday for middle-aged and older people and families with young children. For teenagers and young people it will be boring
