When you land in Helsinki, the first thing that surprises you is the landscape outside the porthole window. He is mesmerizing. Huge boulders and yellow grass. All this happened at the end of April. They took off in a light jacket, and landed in a down jacket.

We found a terminal at the airport to buy a ticket for a suburban train that runs from Vantaa Airport to Helsinki. Helped adult fin, but not the first one. It should be noted that the locals are reluctant to make contact. to get from the airport to Helsinki, there are several options. Bus, taxi and train. We chose the train and did not regret it. Firstly, you don’t even need to look for a stop, it’s almost at the airport, there is also a ticket terminal. Of course, the process of buying tickets is not easy, you can’t do without the Finns, but it can be solved. And another huge plus is the view from the train window, you can immediately get acquainted with the local flavor. The bus is longer and more expensive.

Arrived and Helsinki. The station looks like ours, but clean. Finnish fat bums are present. But they are somehow well-fed and clean, they just sit on the floor with a hat. Or maybe it's not the homeless? ? At the entrance, a volunteer stands and distributes free cookies. Well, why not take it! Got it, thanks. Luggage storage is expensive by our standards. There the key is given, but you can open it only once, so do not forget to take everything you need right away, otherwise you can endlessly pay for the pleasure of picking up a scarf. The cell itself is large, you can shove a couple of suitcases. There are smaller cells, they are cheaper.

Let's go to the city..... the capital..... ? ! The architecture of Helsinki, to put it mildly, is not impressive. Gray square buildings, straight parallel and perpendicular streets, that's it. . . that's enough. Perhaps if this was the first trip abroad, then the perception would be different? ! Right in front of the station there is a supermarket, there is everything, and most importantly - a free toilet.

You can have a bite to eat, see the local youth. They behave defiantly, all strong, pink, like broilers. I was struck by the huge number of Muslims, obviously without Finnish roots, but behaved like at home. It’s just taken pride in our teenagers, well, ours don’t behave like that, even the most isolated ones.

As it turned out later, most likely, most of the population hangs out in supermarkets, since there are very few people on the streets, but a lot of cars. A little further to go and a city without people, what about the population density? Trouble?

I must say that my daughter gave me an ultimatum at home not to return without a mug of mumik. Now, if not for this, I would have left Finland with a heavy heart. The hunt for the cup has begun. I had to go around a lot of shops, but I didn’t find exactly THAT cup, especially since they cost 15 euros there, at least. We found a chapel of silence, where you can even breathe loudly.

People are immersed in a trance, I honestly tried too, but could not control my curiosity when someone made sounds. We found a square, some fashionable coffee shop. Everything fashionable now is our grandmother's heritage, which we have not yet forgotten in the form of wardrobes, knitted napkins, teapots, etc. Well, it’s just unseen .... but fashion is fashion. I bought tea and a bun, paid 7 euros, sobbing mentally, went back to Finland. About a miracle. . . the sun! ! ! The boots led me in an unknown direction. And, as you know, boots know the way. I went to the port. A chic place, you need to start your acquaintance with Helsinki from it. The market there is "goods from China", but fast food in Finnish, it's excellent. For 13 euros you get a huge grilled salmon steak, baby vegetables, potatoes, sauce. . . how delicious it is! ! ! What does the locals take capelin or gobies for the same price instead of salmon.

After a delicious meal, the store itself was found. At the same time, passersby paved the way, everyone wanted to help ...

what is it, no one was looking in my direction an hour ago ? ! I never understood this phenomenon. Hooray! I bought a mug. For 17 euros what I wanted. The store is themed, everything is dedicated to mummy trolls. I would buy a lot, but common sense whispered to me otherwise.

Helsinki was not the final destination of the trip, so let's move on. The nature is amazing, there are many lakes and just reservoirs, animals cross the road in front of your eyes, there are few people .... a beautiful country. Were in Turku, Guitinen and Tampere. You can write a lot about the trip, everything is very colorful, but I will not abuse your attention. Despite the high cost, she brought a lot of gifts, as it is impossible to resist cloudberry or lingonberry jam. The jam survived many trials in the luggage, arrived home intact and was safely lost from the hands of my household when trying to transfer it from the table to the refrigerator. You should have seen that dumb scene.

To go or not to go? Of course go!
