They fed well. (Meat, fish, chicken and even milk rice porridge for breakfast! )
There was animation every evening, but I didn’t go (I went to bed early, because I went to thallas therapy every day, and the time difference was 3 hours)
If you have any questions - write, I will answer everyone.
Right to the main point! We arrived in Tunisia late in the evening, met well at the hotel - quickly settled in a normal room without additional payments, but after such a difficult and long enough journey (the flight was delayed in Moscow) they promised to feed, they say, "you stay in the room, and dinner we will bring you now ". . . we didn’t wait for the promised food, but it didn’t upset us much - we had to gnaw chocolates bought in duty free. We rested together - 2 young girls... This was our mistake... Without men, it's really uncomfortable. Obsessive Arabs did not give a pass. And about the security in the hotel, we even wanted to complain!! ! They constantly looked out of our windows, we even had to close the curtains, I’m already silent, that it was also not comfortable to sit on the terrace under their eyes and incomprehensible attempts to invite us somewhere, talk, etc. . The hotel is really very boring in the evenings . During our holiday there were only elderly French and Germans screaming at the whole beach!! ! I just wanted to shoot them! of the Russians, there were only 2 families with children. in the evening there was nothing left to do but smoke a hookah, drink something in a bar. We went to the city in the evenings to different restaurants... they are just great! very tasty, large portions and excellent service. Once we even got to a real Arab wedding . . it was beautiful. The restaurants constantly treated us to something, it was nice. We went on an excursion to Carthage - I advise everyone who loves ancient Roman history. We had an amazing Russian-speaking guide who has been living in Tunisia for many years. He told everything excitedly...
Their second state language is French, and even English is poorly understood in some places, but no one really knows a word of Russian . . it was difficult. The beach is normal... BUT... we felt worse than in Sochi! Someone is always selling something! Either bracelets, or cigarettes or sweet fruits. They even came up and woke us up so that we could buy something! It was some kind of nightmare! By the end of the holiday, the merchants were forbidden to enter the territory of the beach, but this did not stop them and they walked along the coast and yelled even louder! Total: on the one hand, screaming Germans - on the other, local sellers....a wonderful vacation !! ! In general, there are a lot of such stories, but I want to give advice to those who are going there: it is advisable for girls to go with guys, and choose another hotel, closer to the center, to all nightlife and civilized life! I rested quite a lot in all the famous resorts and always wanted to return, but if someday I fly to Tunisia, then definitely not to Shalimar.
From 20.06. 2010 to 04.07. 2010 my friends and I rested in this hotel. Why did you choose this hotel? According to vacationers, the rating was 4.56. This is a pretty high rating. But in fact, he has a rating of 3.8. As it turns out, it's overpriced. Now I will give reasons. The hotel area is average, very green. There is no discrepancy with what is indicated on the sites. The width of the beach is not 200m, as it is written on the site, but at best 100m, although there is no feeling of a large number of people on it. The sand and the sea are beautiful. There were enough sunbeds, but no mattresses. Therefore, our advice is to come by 9.00 and everything will be fine. As a serious drawback, the lack of a locker room can be noted. The cafe is small. From drinks, something like cola, etc. Beer and other drinks for a fee.
Now about placement. We have several families. Initially offered a room on the first floor. After examining it, we rejected it, since the exit from the balcony is directly onto the lawn. This is of course an amateur. But we thought that safety and the absence of vacationers looking into your room are above all. Some of our friends were given a normal number, the rest were explained that they would be released tomorrow. I had to financially interest the worker. After that, normal numbers were found. Communication with staff is a big problem. Nobody speaks Russian. Good for those who know French or English.
So here's the number. They are all the same as twin brothers. Furniture can be said to be wretched. What struck us was that all the TVs had manual controls torn apart so that everyone took the remotes. Air conditioning in the main building is centralized, it does not work well. We were saved by the fact that there was no stuffiness. Bungalows have split systems. There are no safes in the rooms, only at the reception, for a fee of 35 dinars. The floor is tiled. What struck us was the absence of a Russian channel, although the site claims to have one. It is not clear the attitude of Russian tour operators (we are from Biblio-Globus) to this issue, since there are quite a few Russian-speaking vacationers there. Percentage: French (50%), Poles (20%), Russian speakers (20%), others (10%). Basically, everything is tailored for the elderly French. There are no discos. After dinner for one hour on the veranda the music is mainly for the elderly. Animation in a word miserable. The main restaurant is reminiscent of Soviet times. The furniture is old, instead of glasses there are ordinary glasses. Wine is served in bottles (any quantity), the quality is good. There is an incredible stuffiness in the large hall, plus smoke from cooking. We ate on the veranda all the time. We fed one waiter, who served us quite quickly and held our place. The fruits were good. In general, there are no complaints about food. Declared a la carte restaurants, only one name. The pool is big and nice.
Our friends 1 day before departure, money was missing from the room. The amount is not very large, but nevertheless there is reason for reflection. The rooms were cleaned as stated, but all the linen was washed. In a word, in order to raise the level of the hotel, they need to overhaul the entire number of rooms and places to eat.
We visited several excursions, learned a lot about the country.
Summing up, we can conclude that if we had a rest together, then all the shortcomings would have a very negative effect on the rest, and so our vacation was a success. What else can be noted, for the first 5 days a very strong wind blew from the land and at a water temperature of +21 it was uncomfortable after swimming.
Asking myself if I went back there, I would definitely say no. For this money in Turkey you can get a much better service.
In general, the hotel looks okay, although already pretty shabby. The hotel is focused on a calm, quiet holiday. Of the vacationers, half are French, half Poles. There are practically no Russian speakers.
As for the service, it is very "unobtrusive" in this hotel. For all the days of our stay at the hotel, we were only given a bottle of water in the room once (although we had to provide it three times every day), we had to take it from the restaurant ourselves. We managed to get shampoo and gel only by personally contacting the maid (at the same time, we left a tip every day). In the restaurant, we received the wine we ordered almost after dinner, if we chose tables in the center of the hall. Therefore, advice - stay closer to the fruit, more efficient guys work there.
Regarding nutrition, there are no special claims. What especially pleased me was the huge amount of vegetables, delicious olive oil and dates, the presence of strawberries. Everything else is standard for the four. There are no fresh juices, there is not a lot of seafood, the fish is monotonous, meat is dominated by chicken and lamb. But everything is edible enough. As for wine, I highly recommend rosé . Just wonderful.
Beach. It turns out that you go outside the hotel and go between two concrete fences. The landscape is a little sad, as we bought a tour to the hotel on line 1. Separate "hello" travel agency. The beach is good, the sand is fine, pleasant. The sea is beautiful, but cold in May.
But we managed to get a tan even in three days, as we took excursions to the Sahara and the Capital of Tunisia. Therefore, three days fell out, but we do not regret it at all. In addition, it was raining on those days when we left the hotel.
Tours are awesome. The capital is interesting in its own way, but I was especially impressed by the 2-day trip to the Sahara. I think we were very lucky with the guide Tatyana (Carthage company) and a group of sightseers. Everything was very informative, interesting, rich and fun. I advise!
In conclusion, I will say. You will surely enjoy Tunisia. Landscapes are different here: desert and olive groves, vineyards and mountains. Different and people: cunning and sharp, friendly and sincere. But I think this is what makes the country interesting! Tunisia is worth a visit!
In my opinion, this hotel is suitable for those who want a relaxing holiday without hanging out, bukhalov, etc. Super food, varied everything, very fresh, lots of seafood, greens, white red rose wine and beer as much as you want. Green territory. Located at the very beginning of Hammamet, far from the center. In order not to be cut off from the world of that, you need to know elementary things in French, Arabic, English or German. While not fucked up go recommend.
