They cleaned every day, but the maids were different - one of them would change the bed with towels, and report soap and shampoo, while the other forgets about it. In this case, feel free to go to her and ask for everything that is missing. In the bathroom there is soap, shampoo, shower gel, combs, toothbrushes, a disposable machine, a shower cap. There is a hair dryer. Never take towels to the beach. They will notice - a big fine and not get out. Smoking is prohibited in the hotel, but you can on the balcony and on the street, incl. and on the beach.
The beach (coarse sand) is municipal, clean. It stretches along the coast in a wide (100 meters) strip. It is cleaned every evening. There are volleyball nets. Sunbeds and umbrellas are mostly in front of the bars, paid (5 euros per umbrella and per sunbed). People sunbathe on towels and under their own umbrellas.
The town is clean. Every morning the sidewalks in front of each shop are washed, the streets are regularly cleaned. An evening promenade along the main street with many shops will give you pleasure. Prices in Calella are slightly lower than in Barcelona. Remember the Spanish siesta - the Spaniards do not work (shops) from 13-00 to 17-00. The tradition is this)). Day off - Sunday, for museums - Monday.
If you want to go to Barcelona, then first go on a sightseeing tour, and then I recommend going to Barç a by train yourself (at the same time, compare their trains with ours)). The drive is only 1 hour. The path is along the sea. Trains run every half hour. The main thing is not to be late for the return. The train is part of the city metro network and you arrive right in the city center.
Spaniards are friendly and cheerful people. They love the holidays and cook delicious food. Be sure to try the national cuisine. Lots of delicious wine. I recommend from 4 euros and above. Be sure to try the cava and sangria.
