We stayed at this hotel earlier in 2015. We really liked the hotel then: great staff, large lagoon, spacious room, wonderful Italian and local cuisine (plus capers and artichokes))). This year we experienced almost the same feelings as 6 years ago. (we left the hotel at one in the morning) - in some hotels they forgot to prepare us even after a reminder (it was the 23rd trip to Egypt).
The guests of the hotel are mostly Poles, Germans and Ukrainians, there were also Italians, but not many. Now the hotel is going through a period of renovation: they are restoring its right side, it's a pity that the two-story restaurant on the beach is not working - we really hope that next year everything will be fine. I would like to say a big thank you to the staff and managers for the Christmas gift).
P. S. Snorkeling lovers: there is a turtle behind the mangrove, on the other side of the lagoon there is a two-meter moray eel, and if you manage to get to the outer reef, you will see corals and fish no worse than in Sharmovo's El Fanar). In general, a good hotel - I recommend.

As for food: there was meat and fruit every day, I liked fresh dates, and, well, Egyptian beer; the local wine is not very good, like our Isabella. I did not try strong drinks, but judging by the fact that almost no one ordered them, the quality is not nice. On the territory, in addition to the main restaurant, there are also restaurants of national cuisine and bars with drinks and ice cream. If you're not a vegan, you won't go hungry.
And now about the bad, this of course concerns entry into the sea. There is no pier, so you have to walk 500 meters knee-deep on the shallows to swim / snorkel. At the same time, it is very desirable to have something on your feet, even corals, even flippers, since there are rocky areas, and sea urchins come across from the ichthyofauna, I saw entire colonies, 10-15 individuals each. There were few fish, turtles / octopuses / dolphins were not at all. From excursions I took diving from a hotel guide, it was expensive, it cost 95 bucks (that is, 3 times more expensive than, for example, in Turkey). It would be better, of course, to book excursions in a third-party agency, it would be cheaper, but I was too lazy to bother. In the sea near Port Ghalib, when a friendly team snorkeled on the surface, they saw a manatee - he sailed for lunch with algae. The return transfer went on schedule, Tez Tour worked well.

Several small barracudas, beautiful perches and unusual inhabitants of the depths were released to grow up...

We were given a good, spacious room with a partial view of the sea and the territory. Everything worked fine, the bed is comfortable, there is TV with Russian channels, they cleaned every other day. I must say right away that if you want to be constantly in touch, then buy a local SIM card with the Internet at the airport, there are problems with this at the hotel. The beach is very large, you will always find free places, there are quite wild places nearby. It’s far to stomp to the depth, if the tide is low, then swimming will generally not be realistic. At a depth, the reef is not bad, on the right side I liked it the most, but of course I expected more. We don’t know if we will get to this part of Egypt or not, so we decided to visit the Dolphin Bay and Mars-Mubarak, where we were lucky and saw turtles, but our friends insisted on Luxor. It’s hard to say about nutrition, everyone has their own taste, of course, but gourmets have nothing to do here. The most delicious dinner for me was when they did something on the grill, and in general there was more meat, sometimes for lunch, except for pasta with vegetables or rice, I couldn’t choose what to choose, and breakfasts were meager as always, eggs and rolls got tired quickly, but there weren't many options. Vacationers are mostly Western Europe, there are practically no Russian speakers, and my husband and I speak our native Hungarian among ourselves, only with friends in Russian. I think that we are unlikely to return to this hotel, but I would like to explore the region better.

The mask is needed 100%, corals, all kinds of fish, there is something to see, I have never seen such a variety, super! It’s a pity they didn’t see the turtles, either at the wrong time or at the wrong depth)), but we saw more than one on the tour. The food pleased, very tasty, the choice is sufficient, the sweet table was very impressive. And the service is good, not intrusive, tactful. There is nothing to do behind the hotel in terms of independent walks, but I wanted to go on excursions, as it turned out, there are many interesting places in Marsa Alam. We chose the dolphin paradise Sataya and Marsa Mubarak. Class, I liked it very much, mega satisfied. In conclusion, I will say this, the hotel is excellent, with good food and staff, but the beach, sea and underwater world deserve the highest ratings. We are very satisfied with the rest, now I want to return with my husband and child. Recommend!
