Who does the author recommend the hotel to?: For a relaxing holiday; For business travel
More than six months have passed, and I still have waves of memories of this place and that rainbow in the blue November sky. I am writing because this hotel stands apart in the literal and figurative sense of the word from all the others in the Outer Hebrides, and therefore the Russian tourist hardly even knows about its existence. Search on Russian-language sites practically bypasses Bry House. During our stay there, I understood why. I was the first "guest" in Bry House from Russia. And I really want Alison and John (the hospitable owners of this private hotel) to replenish their cozy library with books and Russian writers : ). What can I say?... If you look at the map of Lewis and follow the direction to the Ai Peninsula, then just on the isthmus itself (near the airport) this wonderful hotel is located, facing the Minch Strait. From the windows of the room you can watch an incomparable picture of the sunrise (the strait itself begins no more than 100 meters from the hotel). The owners of the hotel are a completely different story. Amazing people, AMAZING! A map of the Hebrides? - Please. Car rental? - Please (even a ride to the rental office)!!! How to get there? - Please! Where are the best restaurants in Stornoway? - Please (with clarification of the opening hours of the establishments and, if necessary, even reservations). Everywhere and in everything we turned to John and Alison for help and were never disappointed. Absolute professionals in their field! We have tried authentic Scottish breakfast in several places in Edinburgh and Inverness. Brie House had the best breakfast I had in Scotland! Everywhere there are live roses in vases, the cleanliness is such that I would say "like in an operating room" (do not be lazy - read the English reviews about Bry House - there is an emphasis on cleanliness everywhere! ). Very cozy, very hospitable, did not want to leave. . . Now I am finishing the renovation in my apartment (sorry for the "intimate" details : )). So I tried to make my bedroom exactly like our room (room #1) in Bry House (in the same lilac tones of heather) : ). Go to the Hebrides, believe me, this "harsh" corner of the earth will meet you with kind smiles, light winds, warm rains and even a radiant rainbow. And if you are visiting Alison and John, please say hello from the "first Russian tourist" : ).
