Guys, be very careful about the information about your tour! Sometimes it turns out that the return flight does not take place from Herakleion airport, but from the city of Chania, and this is the western side of the island and the transfer will be very long and tiring. Check everything with your tour operator, this will help you save your time, money and nerves.
The meeting side of Beleon Tours, great guys, everyone is attentive and smiling, the bus is big, clean and air-conditioned. We drove 2:30, the guide told us about the culture and customs of the inhabitants of Crete, it was not boring.
The placement went without problems.
I originally booked a Superior room, it costs a little more, but the living conditions in it are much better. All rooms of this category are located quite high, I knew about it and my choice was conscious (I was very worried that I was missing my workouts in the gym) You won’t be able to walk a lot of descents and ascents on heels, but by the end of your vacation you will have there will be very tightened legs: ). Girls, information for you, in the Superior rooms THERE IS A HAIRDRYER: ) there is no standard. There are no mini bubbles with shampoos and gels. The room is normal, no frills, bright, clean. The bathroom is large, but has a number of drawbacks: there is no holder for the shower, the door is glass and there is no lock on it, there are two huge slots below and above (designer's idea). I clean the rooms every day, bed linen is changed every three days. There are two Russian channels, a mini fridge.
Everything you need for comfort, everything is there, not chic of course, but better than nothing : ) It's far to get to the restaurant, and after the restaurant it's hard)))))
As for food, everything is just "not Egypt"! Salads, vegetables, fruits, seafood, fish, chicken, meat. I must admit that the Greeks are great at cooking meat. The assortment is small and monotonous, but everything was delicious. For coffee lovers, I’ll say that it will be hard for you there, their coffee is nasty from the machine: (I suffered a lot. Everything is also difficult with fruits, there are few of them! The buffet is tiny, to get to the table you have to overcome two stairs, but always overlooking the sea. Water from a vending machine, yes - flowing, yes - through filters. I'll tell you a terrible secret, in all fast food restaurants there are the same machines with soda water and exactly the same filters.
My child and I drank this water and everything is fine, there are no hints of any "disorders", another thing is that it is not very tasty: (Russian-speaking girls work in the restaurant and in the pool ball
The beach is small, clean and well maintained. A sea of all kinds of living creatures, my child came off, fed fish from his hands and caught crabs : ) For those who like to sleep longer, I want to warn you, after eight sunbeds on the beach you will no longer find. The advantage of this place is that despite the windy season in Crete at this time of the year, there are absolutely no waves. The bulk beach consists of small prickly pebbles, you can walk, but not pleasant, it is better to buy special shoes. On the beach, the bar is PAID, only water, lemonade and beer are free.
The animation is weak, morning exercises, aqua aerobics, darts, ping-pong, volleyball, well, something there in the evening, a micro children's disco for 15 minutes, and some competitions for adults.
Every day is the same, even the music during the day, reminds "Groundhog Day" : ) Here attention! All this takes place by the pool, its flooring is wooden and has already been worn out by time, water and sun. You can only walk in slippers, there are numerous cases of splinters and my child was no exception. Moms, information for you, the situation is even worse with the children's pool, the edges are swollen from the water and screws have been torn out on some boards and hats are now sticking out, this is very dangerous, I know from personal experience.
Excursions are still better to take those that are closer, a lot of time is spent on the road and collecting tourists from other hotels. The island of Spinalonge is a must to visit, as it is very close and can be seen from the hotel, which is very cool. What is only one kind of water in Mirabello Bay. Well, of course, you need to walk around the city of Agios Nikolaos and the Cretan evening is very positive : ), but it’s just a bit far to go.
I will say right away that all the prices for excursions are too high. And if you prepare in advance, dig up information, and rent a car, you will save a lot of money. They give a car with our rights and it is better to take it in Elounda, the farther you go from the city center, the cheaper you can find a car. From entertainment within walking distance of the city of Elounda (from the hotel to the right 2 km) and the village of Plaka (from the hotel to the left 3 km). I advise you to visit one of the fish restaurants in Elounda. Our dinner for three adults and two children with wine and juices cost 130 euros with tips. And now let's recap. Greece is always cool, I'm in love with it. But with Crete you have to be very careful, there are resorts where it is impossible to go to the sea because of the strong waves. The hotel is not bad, original, and with its own specifics, an old one, of course, but you can live for another week. Excellent entry into the water.
There is no area for walking, there are many stairs, steps, descents and ascents, this hotel is not suitable for people of age, with problems with the musculoskeletal system and parents with small children. You won't be able to spend a "vegetable" vacation here either, no one will entertain you, you will die of boredom. Everything about this hotel is designed for a quiet, relaxing holiday for couples without children and for organizing your own entertainment, so take a car and enjoy traveling around Crete and each other's company.
