Hotel ratings by criteria:
Rest mostly Germans. Visitors from Russia less than 10 per week. Very good service. The table is a little uneven. Therefore, I do not advise taking all-inclusive meals - a few hundred meters across the "National Road" there are a little less than a dozen taverns. They are cheap and delicious. In one tavern (I don’t name it so as not to advertise), the Slovak Pavel works as a waitress. It is easy to communicate with her to those who do not know English or German.
The geographical position of the hotel is very convenient for those who want to rent a car, and for those who do not have a driver's license. Three kilometers in the direction of the mountains is the fresh lake Kournas, an Italian toy train runs to it. A trip on this transport is not too cheap, I think a taxi will be less expensive. However, the toy train is a cute exotic.
Three kilometers to the west - the town of Georgiopoulis (there is a pharmacy) - a nice place. You can walk to it along a good sandy beach, which is what most Germans do every day. Further west is magnificent Chania, the Venetian city and former capital of Crete. It takes about 45-50 minutes to get there by bus. To the east of Kavros (the tiny village where the hotel is located) is charming Rethymnon, smaller than Chania but also built by the Venetians. By bus, it can be reached in 15-25 minutes (there may be traffic jams at the entrance to the city).

There are no special sights in Kavros itself, but there is a magnificent sandy beach (at least 7 km).
The sea is quite shallow - a great place for children. Food and goods in local shops and taverns (often they merge into one) are somewhat cheaper than in Rethymno or Chania.
The only drawback is the lack of fresh seafood on the menu, because there is no own harbor, and frozen fish is delivered from Rethymno. From the west, the hotel is separated from the almost deserted beach by a tiny river, the banks of which are overgrown with tall reeds. The river is full of fish, turtles and snakes (be careful - it's definitely not snakes). The furniture and fixtures in the rooms are quite high quality. That year, free fruits and a bottle of olive oil bearing the Mithos label were waiting for us at the entrance.
When leaving at the reception, everyone was given a mug with company symbols. A trifle, but pleasant. Last year, the reception began to appear ads in Russian, but there is no Russian television channel. In general, if someone wants a civilized comfortable stay in a village on the shores of a stunning sea, then Mithos Palace will suit his taste.
In the morning, in remote villages, roosters crow, and if you walk along Kavros towards the mountains, you can come across a flock of sheep or feed a goat with bread. Have a good and pleasant holiday
