After a sleepless night spent on the plane, with a one and a half year old child, we sat at the reception of the Anissa Beach Hotel for 5 hours. This was due to the fact that we, like almost all Russians, wanted to be settled in the settlements across the road from the hotel, in a room a la "Sovdepiya" and located at the level of the -1 floor, that is, in the basement. (And this, despite the fact that we had previously paid for a “sea view” and a Superior room in the well-known Riviera company). This is a kind of reservation for the Russians. The Germans are accommodated in the main building, and they do not have to wait for a room. In general, we encountered discrimination against Russians in the very first hours. We refused to go to that room, the manager and administrator just shrugged and said that they had booked a “standard” room for us. They didn't care about the roar of the child and our sleepless night. They pretended that we, having settled down at the reception, did not interfere with their work at all.
After lengthy negotiations with our tour operators, who turned the arrows on each other, we eventually had to check into this terrible room, but we were promised a room with a garden view in 2 days. We had to forget about the sea view until the next trip. As well as about bathrobes, slippers in the room, and a mini-bar.

Everything that I read in the reviews before leaving, we had to experience for ourselves. And a shower cabin with a battered curtain and a slippery floor, and a non-working shower and toilet, and the hostility of the staff at the reception, and problems with changing linen and towels in the room. Shower gel is not provided. There are basically no blankets. I had to cover myself with two blankets.

In the new room we were also settled on the first floor. Since our child was ill, we had to open the balcony door. And you won’t believe it, mice ran into our room in the evenings. At first I was in shock.
But it turned out that we were not the only ones and none of this made a big problem.

The territory of the hotel is ennobled, green, well-groomed. The beach is not bad, but it is really located across the road, along which sightseeing trains, mopeds and cars drive. The bar on the beach does not work, animation is located there. For drinks I had to go to a bar located in the center of the hotel, and there was a pandemonium…
The hotel staff speaks English, German, French. Animation, respectively, too. As the animators told us: "Russian is not spoken here. " Complete disregard. Although Russian 40 percent lived in the hotel. True, they did good shows and entertained the kids in the evenings too.

In general, friends, I would like to warn everyone. Those who have already bought tickets - be prepared for all the adventures I have described above.
And those who are still choosing in which hotel to spend their holidays on the island of Crete, think carefully and ....choose another hotel! : )
I wish you all a good holiday! Thank you for your attention!
