A cozy hotel located in the small town of Ammoudara, very close to Heraklion (not to be confused with the Ammoudara, which is in the Agios Nikolaos area). We lived in the main building, we really liked the rooms - clean, tidy, cleaned every day. Subjectively, bungalows are worse, because all day long everyone walks in front of your windows, although maybe there are bungalows where there is no such drawback. The hotel area is very green, there are flowers everywhere, all kinds of plants, among which, by the way, you can sit, lie down, there are hammocks and other devices for sitting and lying. All foreigners (and the French and Germans mostly live in the hotel) spend the whole day by the pool. Which is very good, of course, besides, there are two or even three of them in the hotel, but I did not see the third one. And the second - for children, as I understand it, there are all sorts of slides and stuff. The beach is right behind the pools. The sand is found in places, as I understand it, it was poured for children, but mostly sand mixed with pebbles, you can walk barefoot, but sometimes it hurt me, so it’s better to wear slippers. The entrance to the sea is very gentle, good, and in general the sea is clean and transparent. Well, after the beach you have to sing, but the food in Appolonia was very good. Champagne for breakfast, paella with seafood for lunch, baked meats for dinner, and this is in addition to a lot of appetizers and other dishes, including Cretan cuisine, which I really love. There is a huge selection of fruits, watermelons and melons were not translated. In short, they feed very, very much. And besides the usual restaurant, there are three pieces of a la carte - Asian, Cretan and Italian. Important! The hotel has a very good spa center, where they do a lot of all sorts of procedures, massages and other things. Everything is nice and cheap. In short, the hotel is good, you can go there and relax, as there are no discos of any kind, in the evenings it is quiet and peaceful. But we went to Heraklion in the evenings, walked along the embankment there. Like this.
