The hotel area is large compared to neighboring hotels. The renovation was in 2002 and the past 10 years are noticeable, so everything in the room is old but very neat and clean. Cleaned every day, bedding and towels changed every other day and sometimes every day, which was good. Meals (I compare with Croatian 3) for 3+ Everything was fresh, but the assortment is not large, soup in one form, seafood was served 1 time in 12 days. But, to give credit, there was no impudent processing of products served for breakfast into dishes for lunch or dinner. Everything is modest but worthy. In general, the hotel is normal, calm, clean. But, if you are used to super 5 you can’t go there))
Regarding the service - 5+. Animation - one Greek, his name sounds strange, Zara))) ignites everyone and everything. The person honestly works out the salary))) I read about the bartender on the beach Maria in the reviews that she is boorish... People, I can say. that she is just a person with dignity, a sense of humor, observant, in general, if you yourself are not boors, everything will work out for you. Sunbeds and umbrellas on the beach are paid, but before 9 am and after 4 no one will say a word to you. Take places near the pool and go swimming in the sea, through the bar and Maria))), it's close and comfortable enough, it doesn't bother you in any way. Or do as we did - put 2 sunbeds in the shade of trees, on the grass.
There is nothing to do in Ammudar, this is a small village and there is no embankment there. In general, this is a place for a relaxing holiday. BUT this place is convenient for drivers, take a car and go east (Aegean Sea) or West to Chania (Cretan + Ionian) and it’s convenient to do this from Amoudara, because. it is located exactly in the middle of the northern coast of Crete.
KNOSOS PALACE, HERAKLEON
Guys, in general, do not be afraid to go to Santorini, and other excursions, through local travel agencies (there are a lot of them) and they all offer Russian-speaking guides. If you take 3-4 excursions, you will save up to 100 euros per nose.
In no case do not go to the palace of Knossos through your tour operator, for which they charge 55 euros, I cannot explain. Just go out of the hotel, turn right and, within 30-50 meters you see a small "supermarket", buy there for 1.50 euros / piece, 4 tickets (round trip for 1 person) and immediately opposite the stop. Take number 1 (in general, all the numbers that you see there go to Herakleon, but only number 6 goes back to Amoudara). Ask the driver for Knossos Palace - they will tell you where to get off in Heraklion (min. 5 drive). Get off at the bus stop and ask for suitable buses - the Palace of Knossos, the stop is right next to the historical monument))) You can walk back in Heraklion, it is small and everything revolves around the 1st street. "August 25" starting from the square of 4 lions. Their mall is located there.
Pick up the Herakleon map at the reception (free of charge). You will find everything in Heraklion yourself (historical, archaeological museums, the temple of St. Apostle Titus).
