hotel disadvantages

Who does the author recommend the hotel to?: For a relaxing holiday; For families with children
Traveled from 04/07/10 to 18/07/10. I must say right away that I liked the rest in general, but I would like to say about the hotel "a couple of affectionate ones" while memories are fresh.
The hotel in no way corresponds to the normal European 4 *, I will indicate the reasons below. Initially, the hotel apparently accepted only Italians. they are about 60%, the rest are Germans, Russians, etc.
Hence, apparently the attitude towards the Russians, we are in the background. The animation is all in Italian, certain places in the restaurant are reserved for Italians, places on the beach as well, in the bar they are poured brewed coffee (no Russians), the staff creeps under them to the fullest.
What I didn't like about the service:

- if you are a fan of lying on the beach early in the morning - stock up on your water, there is no bar on the beach, the pool bar is open only from 10 am !!! , while it is FORBIDDEN to bring drinks from the bar to the beach in their glasses (the guard walks and shouts NO GLASS) - but you can eat, buy disposable glasses in the nearest supermarket and pour them into them. In general, according to the rules of the hotel, you can only drink in the bar - i. e. you can’t move around the hotel with a glass, they don’t let you into the reception or the restaurant. The bar in the hotel lobby is not open, there is a second bar by the second pool, but it is very limited in assortment and is open until about 19:00. The bartender at rush hour can not cope sometimes you have to wait for 5 minutes to get noticed.
- in the restaurant at rush hour, the staff also can not cope - you go looking for a place for yourself - it seems that there are 20% more rooms than places on the beach and in the restaurant
- the beach is very narrow (3 lanes), old small umbrellas are not enough for everyone, they still fly out of the sand in the wind, you have to catch
- the entrance to the sea is also narrow, about 15-20 meters wide, about half of the beach opposite the hotel is occupied by stones - swimming there is problematic - again, at rush hour, the paddling pool in the sea overflows, so you have to swim away from your beach
Separately, about the rooms - this is a song, a feeling of the good 90s. No cards and electronics, everything is keyed, there are no double-glazed windows either, ventilation in the bathroom through the window, the old central air conditioner is noisy, the furniture is old, there is no repair - really 3 *. Upon check-in, we were bred not in a European way - we paid for a room with a sea view on our ticket, after I dragged my suitcase to the third floor (there are no elevators), I found that room 115 really has a sea view, but "a la embrasure" - on the right and left we had a beautiful view of the neighboring rooms, which protruded forward, and our room was in a niche between the buildings, we got about 50% of the view of the walls of the neighboring rooms. We were completely refused to change this miracle number, the motivation is simple "no places".
I described all this in order for people to understand what they might encounter in a hotel, although the rest itself was a success, tk. at the hotel we sat a little, the beach and mountains in Crete are super! Good luck to all.
