We rested together with my husband in Malia Beach from 03.06. 11 to 10.06. 11. The hotel is good, the price generally corresponds to its condition and quality of service. Well-groomed territory with flowers and fruit trees, polite staff made a good impression. But there were also disadvantages, mainly related to the room and the beach.

We arrived at 7 pm, the key was issued immediately, after that 15 minutes. we waited near the reception for a porter, and then went to look for a room ourselves, so as not to waste time. Found quickly, guided by the map of the hotel, which was at the reception. Our room was the same. My husband and I are used to sleeping on a double bed, but here the bed seems to be double, but there is a distance of 15 cm between the two mattresses, and there is no way to move them. The room was on the 1st floor, with a side view of the sea, the terrace overlooked the walking path, it was uncomfortable to sit at a table there. Asked to change room but were told that 95% of double beds are exactly the same as in our room.

It was possible to go to the reception the next day, there was a small chance that a more suitable room would be vacated, but we decided not to bother anymore, given that we planned to stay at the hotel at least.
Air conditioning and a small refrigerator worked well, there were no problems with water, the room was cleaned every day and with high quality. The bathroom was clean, but the bathroom itself had a yellowish coating that was scraped off only in the middle. Another closet near the entrance looked poor, everything else was in order.

We spent less than 2 days at the hotel, maybe that's why we practically didn't see the animation. From 10 in the morning they spent a couple of hours playing different games (my husband liked archery), water aerobics, at 9 pm it was showtime for children, and then adults. We watched only the adult part 1 time, the performance seemed boring and vulgar to us, we had enough for 20 minutes. But we could play table and tennis, golf ourselves.
The hotel has conveniently located swimming pools and a restaurant. In many neighboring hotels, including the "fives", tables in restaurants were near the roadway, and in ours - near the sea. The buildings were also removed from the road.

The food was delicious, the choice was less than in the Turkish "fives", but we never left hungry. Pre-ordered lunch packages before trips for the whole day. In the morning they could be picked up immediately after breakfast. When returning to the hotel after 21:30, it was possible to order a "cold plate" in advance, but we tried to have time for dinner.

On the first night, we left the door to the terrace ajar, for which we were bitten by mosquitoes, and then at 6 in the morning we were finally awakened by local birds. They sing beautifully, of course, but it's too early. There is no soundproofing in the hotel. Basically, we slept from 12 to 7 in the morning, when it was quiet, but for a couple of days we wanted to sleep longer, and it didn’t work out.
It seemed that the neighbors were not passing by the room, but near the bed. Any knock, cry, laughter was heard very clearly.

Upon check-in, we were given 3 cards, according to which it was possible to visit the sauna or hammam 1 time for half an hour, 1 go to a fish dinner and 1 time to Chinese. I liked everything, especially the fish dinner. We ordered a hammam for a specific time in a few days, and when we arrived, it turned out that we could only use the sauna. They insisted that we needed a hamam, they offered to come in half an hour so that they would prepare it for us.

On the 5th day, I developed an allergy on my neck, the itching became stronger, the red spot increased in size. We asked the administrator about medical assistance, we were told that the doctor is only available from 12:00 to 13:00, and we came after lunch. Plus, you had to pay for the services of a doctor, despite the insurance. We went to the local pharmacy. They said that they often come to them with such a problem.
The pharmacist offered to buy ointment and tablets, wrote the dosage on the leaflet, the annotation for the medicine was only in Greek. It became really easier, but the redness went away gradually.

As for the conditions of the hotel itself, it has wi-fi, but in a certain place. There are also several computers with internet. The cost is 1 euro for 15 minutes. 200 m walk from the hotel in the direction of McDonald's, the cost of the Internet is 1 euro for 40 minutes, 50 cents for 20 minutes.

The beach near the hotel (entrance, sun loungers, umbrellas - free of charge) is quite modest and uncomfortable compared to the beaches where we were. Particularly impressive was the beach in the palm grove of Vai and Elafonisi beach with pink sand.

We took a car to Cretamotor for 3 days, drove 1000 km in total. It was no longer Alexander who worked there, but the Bulgarian Dobromir, who speaks good Russian. First they took Fiat Punto, paying 130 euros for 3 days. According to the price list, renting such a car from him for 1 day cost 60 euros, for 3 days - 150 euros.
No deposit needed, we paid in cash. The cost of 1 liter of 95th gasoline is almost 1.8 euros.

After half a day of driving, the whistle was heard louder and louder when turning right, and even on serpentines the car was going up heavily. Therefore, in the evening we paid 30 euros for the remaining 2 days and took the Opel Corsa. The difference was very noticeable. Our serpentine was even steeper, but the car drove easily, and it needed much less gasoline. Then we took an ATV for 1 day for 20 euros from the same Dobromir. He lost 10 euros, they asked in other places, everywhere they cost, like his price list, 30 euros per day.

We went shopping on an ATV, 5-10 km from our hotel the prices for exactly the same things were 1.5-2 times lower. We also visited the village of Sisi. A picturesque place where there is a hotel in a small palm grove of Palm Bay. Admission is free, we bought juice and admired the scenery, sitting in cozy hammocks, where they are instead of chairs.
The car could be left in the parking lot near the hotel, but the ATV was not allowed. My husband tried to figure out why not, if we parked the car for 3 days and saw earlier that there were other ATVs in the parking lot. At first, the security guard and the administrator avoided answering, then they said that the owner of the hotel does not like it when ATVs stand near the entrance to the hotel, and the more distant places were already occupied.

In general, we really liked the rest, but mainly due to the fact that we did not sit in one place and saw a lot. We want to come to Crete again, at least, but we will choose another hotel. There were no particularly bad impressions from this hotel, we did not expect much from the "four", but there is no desire to come to the same place again.
