Hello everyone! This review is for those people who do not use car rental on vacation, that is, for pedestrians and bus workers))) We rested together at the Adonis apartments hotel from 23.09 to 7.10. 2017. Let's just say that this is quite a cozy hotel with friendly and benevolent hosts, Adonis and his wife Maria. Despite the fact that they do not speak Russian, and my English is very difficult to distinguish even "in bright light", we were quite able to communicate))) For example, my wife needed a hair dryer, I go to Maria with a dictionary, I needed additional plates, again went and asked, it became cold at night, went for a blanket. . . In general, the owners are sociable people and, at the same time, unobtrusive. . At the meeting, they were always interested in whether everything was “OK” with us and absolutely did not strain in any way. . . Unless, the roosters "worked like clockwork in the village" in the morning, but these are cute little things))). . . Rooms are cleaned and bed linen and towels are changed every 3 days, well, we are actually neat people and didn’t litter too much. . There was always hot water in the room. . The weather disappointed us a little, it was cloudy and rainy for 4 days and we traveled by bus in both directions from Gouves to Hersonissos, Heraklion and Agios Nikolaos. . It’s not far to go to the sea, honestly they didn’t notice, well, maybe 10-12 minutes. . . Along the way there is a bakery with delicious buns, especially when returning from the beach it was nice to drop in and take them with you)))) There is a Milos tavern about 50 meters from the bakery, where we had quite a delicious dinner and lunch several times, the prices are reasonable, the food is varied, people by the evening it was going "to the eyeballs". By the way, there is a menu in Russian (however, this is not such a rarity in Crete). . Well, further along the road to the sea there is a mini-market, souvenir shops and a couple of cafes. . . In general, there are quite a lot of taverns and restaurants along the entire embankment. . We often cooked food in the room, where there was a stove and a set of necessary utensils, however, there is no microwave. . About excursions. . . We went to the Knossos Palace and the Archaeological Museum in Heraklion ourselves (it turned out cheaper this way)), we also went to the beautiful city of Agios Nikolaos ourselves. . . We took the only excursion in the company "Ivan Susanin" in Hersoniosos. . It included visiting the cities of Chania and Rethymno, as well as the beautiful lake Kournas. . . Well, in short, this tour was more like a minibus trip, since the distance is not close. . Of course, the guide (he is also the driver Roman) told us interesting facts from the life of Crete all the way and made stops in picturesque places for photos. . . The sediment in the soul remained due to the cunning of the guide who sold us this excursion and promised "free time for swimming in the lake and walking around the cities", however, the driver was in a hurry all the time and said that we might be late back (which, however, did not stop him from bringing the entire tour group of 8 people to an expensive restaurant on the waterfront in Chania, where they had to spend about 1.5 hours and overpay for not the best quality food and small portions). . Well, it’s just that Roman’s friends work there and he is clearly “in the share”.....We timidly tried to find out "Why such prices? " To which Roman replied: "Well, there is such a view here! " All in all, it wasn't very pleasant. . . Another of the unpleasant moments is the lack of information about the departure from the hotel on the day of departure. For some unknown reason, the guide "Biblio Globe" Tatiana Kulik did not provide information about the transfer from the hotel. . . Although, when meeting on the day of arrival, she promised to inform the time of departure from the hotel 24 hours before departure. . . At the stand of the tour operator, instead of the promised information, the day before there was an advertisement for fur products with a contact phone number. . . yes, yes, Kulik Tatyana. . . It looks like we had to urgently buy fur coats and wait for the flight)) Thanks to Maria, the owner of the hotel, for the prompt call in the morning and finding out the time of departure. . . Apparently, she, too, was surprised by the inaction of the guide. . . In short, we decided that this was revenge for our refusal to buy excursions from the guide))) But in general, we really liked the rest, although we are not the first time in Greece, but every time we want to return there. . . The main reason for leaving a review is the very scarce information about the Adonis apartments hotel itself, which is completely undeserved. . . In our opinion, this is a very decent and cozy hotel, suitable primarily for couples without children. . The good location, the availability of necessary amenities and the friendliness of the owners deserve only a positive assessment! Thank you all for your attention.
