I will write my short review about a trip with a child to Crete
We were on the island from September 15 to 26, the weather at that time is very comfortable - there is no longer such summer heat (although it wasn’t in the summer - maybe there in the summer too . . ) in the afternoon up to +32, it bakes 2-3 hours, you can at this time leave the beach, the sea is good - I won’t say that it’s very, very warm, normal refreshing sea - both children and adults are comfortable
We were in the eastern part of the island, Agios Nikolaus. In general, as far as I was able to understand from trips around the island - by car and buses - Crete is not a specialized resort for families with children, rather it is a wonderful place for traveling - on foot, by car and sightseeing, a very beautiful, mountainous island, in the east where we were - mountains everywhere and all kinds - bald, dry, rocky, covered with vegetation and olive trees, vineyards - in general, traveling to see the area is a pleasure. Plus, charming Greek little villages, excavations in varying degrees of conservation, all sorts of old turrets and small and large Monasteries, churches all over the island

In general, we are the first time in a European resort, so after the Turkish-Egyptian luxury hotels-Palaces, with huge garden areas, gorgeous flowering lawns, smelling thick, with noisy and cheerful animation - on the first day of rest in Greece - I wanted to ask - "where is all this? how to rest then? Our hotel here was modest - in terms of territory and gardens, there are practically no animations and children's clubs. There is a club - but no one goes there, there are no people looking after the children - there is just a playground, and far from new.
The food, by the way, is very good, especially dinners - always fresh fish, squid or shrimp, well-cooked meat - also by itself, a lot of seasonal fruits and vegetables, delicious watermelons.
Cleaning and change of linen is timely, the staff is pleasant and unobtrusive, there were no misunderstandings!
On the second or third day, all these strange impressions dissipate - you start to occupy yourself with something else - you invent, pave the way on the map of the island - where you will go, wander around the nearby town - admiring the Greek narrow streets (specially made so that there were more shadows between the houses), you look at, read description books bought in monasteries and historical places... you just enjoy the clear sea - there are sandy and rocky beaches, and nearby - not far from each other, you can swim with a snorkel - there were fish and a lot - it was on whom to pretend
By the end of the holiday, you are so saturated with all this beauty, dignity and kind calm smiles of the Greeks - that you definitely want to go back to see what you didn’t have time or where you didn’t get to. already later than 16.30 - and the cave was closed... but the Lositi plateau above which it is located... this is something of course . . you stand - you look at it and you want to forget that Chelyabinsk exists somewhere in the world, you want to put on an apron and remain a peasant in Crete to collect olives and grapes for the rest of their lives are so harmonious and beautiful... it’s not for nothing that the Greeks do not live 60 years like our people, but much longer . .
I recommend everyone to visit Crete, both with and without children.
