An economical hotel, a small number of rooms, simplicity and consistency of style, quality service and a homely atmosphere - all this creates a unique aura that surrounds hotel guests, giving unforgettable days of rest. The hotel is located among a modern abundance of entertainment and shops, bars and nightclubs. At the same time, the unique spirit of ancient and early Byzantine times is preserved here, which you will feel when visiting the city port, where fragments of the ancient Roman port are located.More →

The most important asset of this place is its people. You are met not just by employees, but by the owners of the hotel, and they manage to fill this place with a unique atmosphere of hospitality, goodwill and joy. This is a family business in the best sense of the word. The owners (brother and sister) are young and charming.
I lived in a small but cozy room, which has everything you need: a comfortable bathroom (at first you may be surprised by a shower, but then it becomes clear that in a resort town this kind of shower is the best solution), a balcony, a large bed, a TV, a refrigerator. Air conditioning and safe - for a separate plan, but also available. My room, by the way, was on the shady side for most of the day, so I didn't need air conditioning.
The hotel itself serves breakfast, but there is no other food here. Ask the hosts - they will be happy to tell you where it is better to have dinner. On the ground floor of the hotel there is a large cool hall and a lobby bar, which is open around the clock, but it contains only drinks. And yet, I recommend Elena's morning coffee, and George's motijo in the evening : )
Wi-Fi works great in the lobby, in the rooms - not all are equally good, so if this is important to you, let us know right away when you check-in.
In a word, I recommend this hotel if the joy of human communication is more important to you than faceless service, if you are interested in spending time with good people. As for the living conditions - there is everything you need, what is done on time and at a decent level, which is more than enough for the price and star rating of this hotel. I really hope that I will be able to visit there again.

I will write my short review about a trip with a child to Crete We were on the island from September 15 to 26, the weather at that time is very comfortable - there is no longer such summer heat (although it wasn’t in the summer - maybe there in the summer too . . ) in the afternoon up to +32, it bakes 2-3 hours, you can at this time leave the beach, the sea is good - I won’t say that it’s very, very warm, normal refreshing sea - both children and adults are comfortable We were in the eastern part of the island, Agios Nikolaus. … More ▾ I will write my short review about a trip with a child to Crete
We were on the island from September 15 to 26, the weather at that time is very comfortable - there is no longer such summer heat (although it wasn’t in the summer - maybe there in the summer too . . ) in the afternoon up to +32, it bakes 2-3 hours, you can at this time leave the beach, the sea is good - I won’t say that it’s very, very warm, normal refreshing sea - both children and adults are comfortable
We were in the eastern part of the island, Agios Nikolaus. In general, as far as I was able to understand from trips around the island - by car and buses - Crete is not a specialized resort for families with children, rather it is a wonderful place for traveling - on foot, by car and sightseeing, a very beautiful, mountainous island, in the east where we were - mountains everywhere and all kinds - bald, dry, rocky, covered with vegetation and olive trees, vineyards - in general, traveling to see the area is a pleasure. Plus, charming Greek little villages, excavations in varying degrees of conservation, all sorts of old turrets and small and large Monasteries, churches all over the island
In general, we are the first time in a European resort, so after the Turkish-Egyptian luxury hotels-Palaces, with huge garden areas, gorgeous flowering lawns, smelling thick, with noisy and cheerful animation - on the first day of rest in Greece - I wanted to ask - "where is all this? how to rest then? Our hotel here was modest - in terms of territory and gardens, there are practically no animations and children's clubs. There is a club - but no one goes there, there are no people looking after the children - there is just a playground, and far from new.
The food, by the way, is very good, especially dinners - always fresh fish, squid or shrimp, well-cooked meat - also by itself, a lot of seasonal fruits and vegetables, delicious watermelons.
Cleaning and change of linen is timely, the staff is pleasant and unobtrusive, there were no misunderstandings!
On the second or third day, all these strange impressions dissipate - you start to occupy yourself with something else - you invent, pave the way on the map of the island - where you will go, wander around the nearby town - admiring the Greek narrow streets (specially made so that there were more shadows between the houses), you look at, read description books bought in monasteries and historical places... you just enjoy the clear sea - there are sandy and rocky beaches, and nearby - not far from each other, you can swim with a snorkel - there were fish and a lot - it was on whom to pretend
By the end of the holiday, you are so saturated with all this beauty, dignity and kind calm smiles of the Greeks - that you definitely want to go back to see what you didn’t have time or where you didn’t get to. already later than 16.30 - and the cave was closed... but the Lositi plateau above which it is located... this is something of course . . you stand - you look at it and you want to forget that Chelyabinsk exists somewhere in the world, you want to put on an apron and remain a peasant in Crete to collect olives and grapes for the rest of their lives are so harmonious and beautiful... it’s not for nothing that the Greeks do not live 60 years like our people, but much longer . .
I recommend everyone to visit Crete, both with and without children.

Since the memories are still fresh, I can write a lot of useful information : )
So,
general information
Hersonissos is a town, I would even say a village, 25 km from the airport and 27 from Heraklion. The town is small, mostly built up with villas and small hotels. There is a promenade with many cafes and restaurants, discos. Supermarkets and souvenir shops are also available, they usually work until late, which cannot be said about other institutions - banks, hospitals, etc. are already closed in the afternoon. Not far from the city there is a huge water park. The town itself is unremarkable in terms of excursions.
Hotel conditions
2 star hotel, but quite decent. 4 floors - on the first hall, bar and reception, free wi-fi in the hall (no rooms) and a small library, including in Russian. Each room has a balcony with chairs and a table, but there is nothing else to dry things except on the railing. The rooms are small, furnished - beds (1 double or twin), chairs, table, mirror, wardrobe and bedside table. Each room has air conditioning and a refrigerator - for a fee (approx. 2-3 euros per day), but for example, air conditioning was completely unnecessary, so before you immediately pay for all days, live 1 day "for testing". There is no hair dryer in the room, as well as an iron, and they are not available for a fee, so be aware. Cleaning - every other day, towels are available. In the courtyard of the hotel there is a small nice pool and a clearing with sunbeds and umbrellas - free of charge. The hotel is run by one family, so everyone is very helpful, friendly and helpful, and speak fluent English. Oddly enough, mosquitoes were an unpleasant moment, so arm yourself with creams and fumigators.
Nutrition
Breakfast at the hotel, frankly, meager - sausage, cheese, tea and coffee, cereal, jam and watermelon. And so every day, the menu does not change. If you do not plan to eat all the time in a cafe, I advise you to take a standard tourist set - a boiler and a mug, a tray or a bowl, knives, forks. Buying food (fruits, vegetables, water, etc. ) is no problem, a couple of supermarkets are close to the hotel. On the other hand, the food in the cafe is also quite affordable, the average price for the main (meat or fish) dish is 12 euros, the famous Greek salad is 5 euros. At the end of the meal, you will be pleasantly surprised - they will definitely bring you some kind of treat (ice cream, fruit, coffee) as a gift from the establishment!
Beach
The hotel is really close to the beach, 5 minutes walk. The beaches in Crete are municipal, admission is free. A sunbed and an umbrella will cost you 2 euros per day, but it is quite possible to lie down on a bedspread. It should be noted that although the beach is sandy, there are large stones in the sea near the shore at the bottom, it is not very convenient to enter, you can get hurt, and there are sea urchins there, so take special swimming slippers. But there are places where these stones are not present (for example, on the beach of the Creta Maris hotel, it is on the left hand, so to speak, in the corner of the bay, if you go to the beach from our hotel).
Excursions
There are a lot of offers for excursions. It must be said right away that, as a rule, the tour operator offers its tourists certain excursions. Do not rush to immediately agree to them, go through the surrounding (and there are a lot of them) travel agencies, compare prices. Sometimes you can save up to 30 euros with local travel agencies! Some places can be completely seen on your own, having reached by public transport. For example, an excursion to the Palace of Knossos costs about 40 euros + an entrance ticket, but you will spend 15 euros (fare and entrance ticket if you go yourself. In this case, you will have more time, and you can get a historical reference by joining any Russian-speaking excursion: ) The most unforgettable and really worthwhile excursion is a trip to the island of Santorini. This is really something incredible! It is also worth a trip to Agios Nikolaos and Spinalonga.
General impression
Despite some shortcomings, the impression is still very positive! The hotel is good if you are not looking for some unimaginable comfort that is called "on a silver platter", but you came to see the country and swim in the warm Aegean Sea : )) The Greeks are incredibly sociable, very friendly and almost everything - and very good! - they speak English, and many also speak Russian.
I hope my review is useful to you.
Have a nice rest!
