The hotel is very close to Heraklion airport, only 30 minutes by bus (with 2 stops at other hotels).
We were settled pretty quickly (there were free rooms, May is not the season).
The room is very strange! And that's putting it mildly!
The double bed is about one and a half meters wide, really little space if one is used to a normal wide one. She's also up against the wall! And the walls in the room are concrete and plaster - it is very unpleasant to be near it, and since there is not enough space, you touch it all the time and wake up at night. The pillow also lies on the same concrete (the bed itself is only slats and there is a mattress on them). It’s also a problem with an extra bed, we were with a child and wake up several times during the night to move him away from the ice wall. Instead of a bedside table, too, CONCRETE!!!
With the light in the evening, the trouble is a couple of lamps and it is very dark. The safe is paid, but it does not matter - 20 euros for 7 days and you get the key.
The bathroom is normal clean, cleaned normally, a hair dryer (for some reason not in the bathroom, but in the main room) dries quickly.
For whom food is important, you are traveling with a child (ours is about 4) and have been in other normal hotels, it is better to stay at home!!!
The food is very monotonous, for breakfast eggs (burnt scrambled eggs, burnt scrambled eggs and boiled), sausages, bacon, barley and rice milk porridge, pancakes and muesli. There were days the omelet was not burnt and they gave the baby, sausages are not tasty for the child. There are good biscuits (their pastries are generally delicious).
At lunch we ate soup, meat and cucumbers!! ! With salads they strained!
There were strawberries and watermelon - delicious!
In the evening, too, but without soup.
I don’t know who might like this food, probably people who have vacationed earlier in Turkey. We are in Greece 3 times we have something to compare! This is the worst hotel we've been to.
The territory of the hotel is good, large, there is where to walk. The playground is small, but there is a nearby hotel, the same Aldemar chain, 2 minutes walk and you are on a large playground with slides and a pool. The beach is large, but covered in dry algae, gobies, sugar bags. Even a broken plastic spoon was seen. Maybe they haven't cleaned it yet after the winter, but it's very dirty!
Car rental at the hotel is more expensive, but there are a lot of offers nearby from 50 euros, with a machine gun from 60.
We rode on a local train (a machine with wagons) in Hersonissos - the child was happy, 1.5 hours on the way 10 euros per person.
We went to the a la carte restaurant - it's something !!!!!
We got a call and were invited to dinner at 19.00.
We clarified what main dish we would eat meat or fish, ordered meat and fish for me and my husband.
They said that there is a children's menu: cheeseburger, hamburger, french fries!!!!!! ! I'm in shock, because I'm trying not to feed my child like that yet.
We ordered potatoes, she was with chicken, we decided that she would eat from our plates.
They came at 7, and there was a queue, they went in already at 7.40 the child was reimbursed why they were not allowed to eat ???
We were seated at tables (one at a time and very slowly)
At 8.40 !!!! ! brought a snack - RISOTTO!!! ! The poor child ate a bun before that and lost interest in food!
Risotto with mushrooms, and the children too, an hour later the child will have potatoes (after reminders), and later we will have food. At this time, simple SOVIET PEOPLE managed to pretty much eat wine and began to dance, so the music was lively and good, one citizen with a St. George ribbon on his jacket almost dropped his companion on our table))))
And, finally, for whom it is important that in the hotel 80 percent of Russian-speaking vacationers (Russians and Ukrainians) behave accordingly after 100 gr. brandy, go to another hotel!!!! ! When you look ashamed of your compatriots, you get the impression that you only came for a drink.
If you have already bought a ticket, then do not worry too much, nothing bad will happen to you!
But if you have a choice, then the Grekotel hotel chain is better!!! ! (there are more foreigners resting, behave more decently)!!!
