In June, together with my wife, three-year-old daughter and friends, we had a very good rest in Aldemar Cretan Village 4 * - a hotel located on a green slope near the Aegean Sea and consisting of comfortable two-story bungalows, decorated in the traditional colors of the island. Crete. Now a little more.
We arrived at the hotel at about 12:30 local time, an hour behind Moscow. At the reception, we were met by a Russian-speaking worker - a trainee from Latvia, who kindly asked us to wait until 14:00, offering to visit the restaurant. Leaving the suitcases in a specially designated place, the three of us went to dinner. We had a delicious lunch at the restaurant (buffet), and my daughter had a hearty meal in the children's cafe - a place fenced off from the general restaurant with small tables and chairs, cartoons and, of course, a children's menu.
We returned to the reception at about 13:00, where we were informed that it was already possible to check in. We immediately paid for the safe in the room (40 € for two weeks), after which we were taken by electric car with suitcases to the room.

The so-called family room at first surprised us with its compactness: one room on the second floor with an area of no more than 15 square meters. m. with two beds and other necessary furniture, a shared bathroom and a balcony-veranda overlooking the palm trees and the central square seemed to us modest in a Spartan way, but having spread out our things on all the bedside tables and wardrobes, looking around, we realized that the room was quite suitable for us , so in it, in fact, we were only going to sleep)))). The room had air conditioning, a refrigerator, a TV with a number of Russian channels, an internal telephone and a hair dryer, extremely inefficient, according to my wife; )). By the way, when we returned to the room on the first evening, we were pleasantly surprised by the baby cot-folding bed.
Room cleaning was carried out flawlessly, daily in our absence. We left tips only a couple of times, because. no one is begging them.
The hotel area is not very large, but green and everywhere you meet the heady aroma of olives - very tasty! There are several pools, including paddling pools, one water slide, a mini club where animators work with children and where you can leave your children for a long time. Next to the pools and bars there are taps with draft beer, dry red and white wines, machines with various sodas and, of course, plastic glasses for self-service.
As for the beach, there are no complaints about it - there are always free sunbeds with umbrellas and tables, the smallest pebbles under your feet. However, let us down the entrance to the sea! Along its entire length, there are many large and not very boulders that can damage your legs if you do not carefully enter the sea. There are two more or less normal entrances to the sea: the first is located on the left side near the pier, but a large number of children and their parents accumulate there. The second one is on the right, opposite the surf school. That's where we really liked to swim, because. there are few people, there are practically no cobblestones and it is possible to stand waist-deep in water on natural natural slabs located one after another 10-20 meters from the shore. It became unpleasant to swim in the pool at the end of the rest, because the water heated up to the state of warm milk and did not refresh in any way.

The animation team of the hotel is generally normal, but each of them should still work on themselves (hack), and review the repertoire together, because. many English-language performances are not understandable to the guests, 80-90% of which are Russian. I would suggest that the quality of some performances can be affected by the fatigue of the guys that accumulates over the whole day, as many of them combine animation with other work in the hotel (issuing towels, a mini club, etc. ). During the day, animation games (darts, bocce, water polo, water aerobics, merengue dance training, zumba) were held non-centrally, in different places, which made it difficult to participate in everything. At the same time, I would like to note that they entertain children in a cool way, all the kids willingly gathered for the so-called mini-disco.
Almost throughout the hotel, even sometimes in the room, there was quite tolerable wi-fi.
Near the hotel there is a mini market where you can buy souvenirs, food, swimming equipment, etc. Prices, by the way, are European, somewhere even exceeding domestic ones.
We did not attend excursions, the guide did not even offer them at the first meeting with us, having heard that my friends and I were going to rent a car.
Renting a Nissan Qashqai + 2 with two child seats and a “Russian” navigator for 3 days cost us 240 € + gasoline (more than 2 € per liter). By car, we drove along the most beautiful mountain roads to the cool Greek music, examined the Cretan villages, found a beautiful beach with white sand and the cleanest sea (a la Dominican Republic), where renting a sun lounger with an umbrella cost 5 €, visited the aquarium, aqua park, those. saved a lot of money on excursions, etc.
The hotel can be safely advised to couples with young children!
