The decoration of the hotel is, of course, chic. Pompously, with a pretension, in general - "the decoration of the Kremlin. "
Of course, the aged wood plastic and blue bedside tables and chairs with fake gold are kitsch (only Russians will understand me), but in the photos it looks chic. Carved wooden, also "aged" cabinets at the reception and in the halls and gilded lamps with glass pendants that cast glare look a little better.
Very comfortable beds - mattresses are hard as they should be. Good plumbing in the bathroom (two showers), bathroom with night lighting.
Trained staff. What is especially pleasant is that they didn’t take money from us for the 2 days we reserved, when we didn’t live (we couldn’t leave Mykonos on time due to the storm and the cancellation of flights of the “flying cat”).
But....(see in the "-" of the hotel).
Did not like:
The hotel is big, from this all the troubles:
Nutrition.

A bar where champagne-based cocktails, pancakes until 2 am is, of course, good, but guys - the assortment of snacks and meat dishes is not 5 stars at all !!!
Last year we were at the nearby Anissa Beach 4 * hotel, there were beef tongues, and fried and pickled mushrooms, and grape leaf rolls (what is inside is not clear, but very tasty), several types of meat and 5 types of fish (like for appetizers and hot dishes), and chicken of all kinds. Hot smoked mackerel is just delicious! In addition, lamb and pork ribs were often fried.
There is also fried bacon for breakfast, for lunch, pieces of fish or chicken cooked in front of you (not always fried and fresh enough), or the same beef or liver (both were not always chewed). Yes, also gyros (this is a type of shawarma).
Snacks, in general, were somehow not noticed by me (except for fish under the marinade 1 time). I also saw mushrooms once in a meager amount - for making an omelet.
Moreover, if in Anissa Beach everything was freely available, then in Laguna meat and fish are served by chefs who are clearly not trying to give an extra piece (!!! ).
Believe me, I'm not a glutton, but probably everyone will confirm this.
There really is a lot of sweet, but I'm not a big fan of it. The ice cream in the restaurant is watery. The bar on the street is somewhat better. From fruits - only watermelon was not bad. The melon is absolutely tasteless (that's strange - in Mykonos it's the same very sweet). Nectarines are hard, kiwi, on the contrary, are too soft. Juice is also in question - in my opinion, concentrate.
Alcohol:
Again the same Anissa Beach - there was a Baileys in the bar. There is no. Yes, and the Blue Lagoon cocktail caused indigestion. The tequila was worse too.
And how occupied the sunbeds by the main pool! It's expensive to watch. The administration forbade doing this until 7.00. I somehow leaned out the window at 7.20 - the last ones in the 3rd row occupied. Yawning young fathers and respectable fathers of families racing like saigas are a worthy sight!

I don’t understand at all who needs these sunbeds by the pool - oilcloth, heated in the sun. Why go to the sea and lie by the pool, where there is not a breeze? The reviews wrote - a small beach. However, there you could always find a free sunbed and an umbrella. And that smell of iodoform and the splashing of the waves!
By the pool, sorry, it smells only of grub and bleach.
2 more negatives:
one). The corridors in the main building are very stuffy! It was just as stuffy at the reception, until someone, probably, complained and turned on the air conditioner. It cooled down.
2). Despite the impeccability of the staff, there was still an unpleasant incident in the restaurant: once at dinner no one offered drinks for a long time, although there were 2 waiters very close by - a man and a woman who cleared the tables and talked animatedly about something. I went up to them and asked in English for 2 glasses of water. There was only 1 clean glass on our table. The female waitress came up and, as if doing a great favor, splashed water on him and sped away. I had to get up again, take a clean glass from another table, go to the waiters' table, take a jug of water and pour the second glass myself. At the same time, I said: I asked for two waters. This only brought a smile to the faces of the waiters. Then my husband got up again and added water. In fact, there was never such a disgrace - they always came up in advance, asked what we wanted - wine, juice or water, brought it and poured it into glasses. All the more strange looked this episode.
My conclusion is that the bigger the hotel, the more leveling. Mass character generates cliché s and a soulless attitude to business.
